Daddy You Are Mine Forever
I held the pose for a second longer than I needed to.
"You’re up early," Julian said.
His voice was rougher than it had been last night. I turned around, leaning my lower back against the counter, clutching the empty glass. He was looking at me, but his eyes were fixed firmly on my face. He was fighting, and he was fighting hard.
"The sun woke me up," I said, tilting my head. "Your house is beautiful, Julian, but it’s very... exposed."
"It’s modernism, Maya," he said, his voice clipped. He took a sip of his coffee, but his hand was tight around the cup. "It’s about light and transparency."
