Riley Rose Thornton is on the verge of turning 20 and accepting her role within her pack as she eagerly awaits her wolf. With school at the Alpha Academy ending this year and true mates waiting to find their other half, Riley has been patient and excited to start this new chapter. With her best friends Lily and Ollie, the adventure is just about ready to take off. Ollie secretly loves Riley and has for most of their childhood, but will Ollie be Riley's destined mate? Or is Riley destined for more? Lily isn't even sure where she belongs in this pack and whether she wants to stay. And what about Eli, the bad boy/future Alpha of the pack? What role does he have to play in all of this? Eli has been out of school for 2 years now, finishing off his training to take over as Alpha of the Silver Moon Pack. Will that get derailed because of love or will his is annoyingly, handsome, boy next door, brother Ethan, get in the way of his true love and the pack? Stay tuned because it's about to get messy.
View MoreThe morning light shines in through the crack in the dark green curtains that cover the bay window in Riley's room. It stirs Riley from her deep sleep, where she lays on her stomach on top of her queen size bed with her duvet tossed to the foot of the bed in a heaping mess. Her long, brown, naturally wavy hair flows in different directions as she peeks and shields her eyes from the sun. She had been dreaming of her 20th birthday that was coming up, which would signify her spot in the pack, and the first time she were to shift.
"Riley! It's time to get up! We leave in 20 minutes," her dad yells at her door as he walks down the hall to start breakfast. Riley groans as she rolls onto her back. Today is Valentines Day, the day of love, and another reminder that she just broke up with her ex Nathan about 2 months ago. So, there is no love for her in the relationship department at the moment. However, she still crafted a couple of Valentines Day cards for her best friends, Lily and Ollie. Ollie will probably go all out for both her and Lily because that's the type of guy he is, however, as much as he tries to hide it, she knows there will be a little something extra for her as Ollie has been crushing on her for the past 8 years. Why won't he give it up already? She's expressed there is no interest on her end, but he is relentless and thats probably one of the best attributes about him that Riley loves as she knows he will protect and care for her no matter what. Riley rolls out of bed and stretches as she sits at the edge. With only 20 minutes until she has to leave for school, she has no time to shower. She strips out of her pink silk pajama set and grabs a pair of skinny jeans, a cropped white t-shirt that hugs her upper half, and her converse. She then brushes out her hair, which she styles in a messy bun atop her head. She stands in front of her floor-length mirror, assessing the way she looks. Riley knows she's pretty. She's petite but has curves where it matters, a little smaller chested than she had hoped for and a little short for being a werewolf. Otherwise, she's strong and possibly one of the strongest and fastest in her combat classes. Her face is a bit mousey with smaller features and pink undertones but with a natural golden glow about her and beautiful hazel eyes. She got her looks from her father, who is a single dad to just her. She lost her mom when she was only 2 from a Rogue attack on the pack lands. Her mom had a position with the patrols, while dad worked in administration for the Alpha. Dad had really gone through a tough few years. They even had to move in with her grandmother and grandfather until dad got out of his deep depression. See, dad and mom were true fated mates, and that kind of bond is unbreakable. Riley hoped to find her fated mate as well but knew the chances were low unless she did some traveling to other packs after graduation. It was only a couple of years ago that they finally moved out again on their own. It was only a few houses down from grandma and grandpa, but it was a big step in moving forward. Dad even began dating again and had a girlfriend, Sarah, who she absolutely adored. She did come with her own baggage as well, a 15-year-old son named Landon. They got along for the most part, but once Riley turned 20 in two weeks' time, she would move into one of the apartments closer to the Pack house to finish school and start working full time. She was hoping to get a position on the patrols just like her mom. She rushed down the stairs and greeted her dad with a peck on the cheek. He had just finished making up a plate for her of some bacon and eggs, which Riley stuffed into her mouth and finished just as dad grabbed the car keys. "Come on, kid, otherwise we might be late." Riley grabbed her backpack as they left the house. Riley hopped into the passenger side of her dad's pickup truck. School was on the way to the administration buildings, so dad always gave her a ride. It only took about 5 minutes before they pulled up to Alpha Academy on the pack lands. Alpha Academy got the children ready for their life as a pack member and helped them figure out where they would fit in best. Riley has always been pushed towards doing more combat, although she did have a couple of administration classes in accounting and business, as well as health and healing. She knew she was destined to be sorted into patrols just like her mom. "Take care of yourself today, kiddo. Here's some cash for lunch, and if you see Landon, just keep an eye on him. He's been hanging around Ethan and his crowd lately. Me and Sarah just want to make sure he's doing alright." "No problem, dad. I hope you have a great day at work. I'll just walk home after school and maybe drop in at Grandma and Grandpa's." "Sounds like a good plan. I'm having dinner at Sarah's tonight anyway, so you would be alone for a few hours till I got home." "Alright, bye, and I love you." Riley shouted as she closed the passenger door shut and spotted Lily and Ollie over by the front entrance benches. She jogged over and gave them big hugs and surprised them with their Valentines. "Riley! These are great. Did you make them yourself?" Lily exclaimed as she opened them up and read the small poem inside. "I sure did, and it's only because I love you that I spent any of my extra time making them." Riley laughed. "Well, you two will have to wait for your surprise a little later in the day. I will discuss what it all entails at lunch." Ollie declared, boasting his large, muscular chest as he seemed proud in whatever he had planned for the girls. Riley and Lily giggled as they got up and started towards their first class. As they walked the halls to their first class, Riley noticed her ex Nathan hanging with Landon, Ethan, and a few more of the more popular girls and boys. Riley really didn't have anything against Nathan, and they broke up pretty amicably. Unfortunately, Nathan turned 20 at the end of November and found his true mate within our pack, a girl named Samatha. Riley and Nathan had both known there would be a chance that they weren't fated but had still dated for about a year before they broke up. Their relationship was purely more physical, and they had their fair share of sex which isn't uncommon with wolves. Some save themselves for the fated one, but that's been fairly outdated for many, many years as there's a chance you won't meet your fated mate and instead decide to pick a chosen mate. Riley walked over to the crowd and tried to just get Landons attention but was roped into the conversation with them all. "Hey Riley. How have you been?" Nathan asked as he looked shyly over at Riley while he had his arm drapped over Samatha. "Good, all is good. Landon, can I have a word with you?" Riley said as she tried to hurry herself so she wouldn't get caught up in this groups antics. Although, it was proving to be too late as Ethan threw his arm over her shoulders. "Riley, I'm so glad you stopped by to say hello. We don't get much quality time together. You have really blossomed since grade school." Ethan said with his lopsided smile. Goddess, he was good-looking. He was tall, muscular, and had these green eyes that went on forever as if you got lost walking through a forest just looking into them. His hair was beach blonde and tousled just perfectly, like he just walked out of the ocean looking. He glowed and was easily one of the most attractive guys in the pack. It was hard to resist his charm, especially because he was actually genuinely a good guy, too. "Thanks, Ethan, but I really just came over to check on Landon as per our parents' request." "Riley, I'm fine and don't need you checking in with me. Plus, I'm hanging with some friends at the pack house tonight since I know Jack will be coming over to have dinner with mom." Landon said sternly as if he was embarrassed. "Alright. If you need any company, you know where to find me," Riley said as she tried to walk away before Ethan grabbed her hand and pulled her to the other side of the hallway, away from the group. "Hey, so, before you go, I wanted to ask if you would have dinner with me tonight. I know this is last minute, but with it being Valentine's Day and all, I was hoping we could have a date and get to know each other. I've been wanting to ask you for a while now, actually." Ethan said as he blushed and brushed a strand of loose hair out of Riley's face. Riley was taken aback. She had no idea that Ethan had liked her or even saw her that way. I mean, she would be stupid to say no to a guy like him, but at the same time, she knew a relationship with him could have significant consequences with him being a son of the Alpha and all. But when would another chance like this come? His older brother Eli was already working towards taking over as Alpha in a years time and as far as she knew, if he didn't find his fated mate, he would have to pick a chosen mate of his parents approval. They couldn't just have anyone mating with their sons and future alphas. So it's not like she had a chance with him. But this opportunity to date Ethan, of course, she had to take it. "I would love to go on a date with you," Riley said shyly, blushing and smiling from ear to ear. "That is great news. I mean, I didn't even think I had a shot with you, so you don't even know how excited I am. How about I pick you up at 5? Would that be enough time after school for you to get ready?" "That should be more than enough time. I look forward to seeing you later," Riley took off down the hall before she embarrassed herself by turning an even brighter shade of red.Riley jolted awake. It was dimmed, and the sun was setting. "Riley! How are you feeling?" Riley looked around, gathering her surroundings. They were traveling. Her head had been resting on Eli's lap. "Where's my mother?" "She's in one of the other cars. There wasn't enough room in here with you laying down." "What happened?" "Riley, you fainted. You don't remember?" "No...last thing I remember is grabbing my mother from the Rogue King." "Then you fainted. How are you feeling. Do you need us to stop the cars and take a break? We are almost home. Maybe another 10 minutes." "Then just keep driving. I'll be fine. I can't believe how long I've been out." "I was terrified. I didn't know what else to do besides try to get us home. You were breathing, and I've been keeping an eye on your pulse. Do you feel anything wrong? I can take you to see the doctor right away!" "No, I feel fine. Maybe it was just a lot of stress and being sick. We will see the doctor to make sure
Eli and Riley woke up from their night of celebrating and got dressed and packed up to head home. The cars would be here in an hour to take them back home. Riley couldn't wait but was nervous for the ride home as once again, she had been sick this morning. Eli didn't leave her side as she was ill, and Riley couldn't have been more appreciative of his commitment to her. Eli would make the perfect mate and father to their pup. Despite his reputation and past, he had really taken on the leadership role of Alpha. He was proving his worth. Riley just couldn't believe how fast their love story was evolving. "Do you think we will ever get bored of each other?" "Goddess, I hope not," Eli yelled back from the bedroom. "What makes you ask a silly question like that?" "Just our story, it's been such a whirlwind. I feel like maybe this has to end at some point." Eli walked over to the bathroom door and leaned against the frame. "It will never end. Don't you see how much my mother and fat
Pregnant. Riley was pregnant. She hadn't even gone through a heat with Eli yet since being marked. It was rare to get pregnant without being in heat, but maybe because they were fated, there were exceptions? Maybe Eli being an Alpha was an exception, too. Riley has been very irresponsible with Eli regarding sex. They haven't really used any protection, even from the start, so there always has been the possibility of getting pregnant. How was she going to tell Eli, though? How would he take the news? There is so much uncertainty. They had planned to wait till Riley finished school before a mating ceremony and the Luna and Alpha ceremonies. Now, she would have to move everything up and maybe not finish school. This was definitely not the news she had been expecting. Suddenly, Eli and Ethan came in laughing and joking about with each other as Riley continued to sit on the couch. "Hey Riley! We're back. What have you been up to?" Eli said from the doorway. "Riley, are you alrigh
It turned out Penelope was lying about her and Ethan being fated mates. We all hoped it was true, but with Ethans reaction, I knew he was telling the truth. Even Luna Marigold confirmed it was all fabricated after she went to check on Penelope. The poor girl was just heartbroken. Although, she did agree to go out this evening with Ethan in hopes of building a connection before they declared they had chosen each other as mates. Eli still laid there beside Riley fast asleep. He had been very busy last night and all week. Constant meetings with different packs, talks with his dad, and now has to start preparations for a mating ceremony. Riley looked at him with awe as he slept. She felt a pang of jealousy as she wanted to have her mating ceremony. She couldn't believe the hold a fated mate bond brought. She was head over heels for Eli and loved him so quickly. Maybe she would talk to him about it today since they didn't have any work to perform. Riley creeped out of the bed gently
"He's here Riley, let's hurry up," Eli pulled Riley along till they got to the front of the pack house. "Alpha Eli. Zach had a concerning talk with me. I apologize for all the choas my family seems to be causing for you and your mate. I have taught them better than this." "It's alright. Let's forget it ever happened and work on tonight's affairs." "Thank you. You will make a great leader." Riley watched on as they shook hands. Luna Marigold and Penelope stood on the opposite side of Alpha Forrester, avoiding any glances at them. Next to them stood Alpha Zach and the twins. Hopefully, things wouldn't get awkward for the rest of their stay. The black SUVs pulled up, and out came Ethan wearing a well tailored blue suit. He looked handsome. Eli walked up and shook his hands and gave him a hug. Riley followed suit. "It's great to have you here, Ethan." "I see you two marked each other. Good thing I'm only here for my father and our packs safety. Otherwise, we have no other bu
Ethan would arrive today just in time for dinner. Riley wasn't sure how much information he had been given, but Eli had spoken to his father about this proposal. It aligned the two packs that Eli was going to do before meeting Riley. Eli had brought the plan up last minute while they had gotten ready the other day before Riley had met with Luna Marigold and Penelope. Before Penelope had run off in wolf form. Before Penelope was chased through the woods and was brought back home unarmed. Things could have been a lot worse. However, she was safe, and that was all that mattered. There were more rogue attacks than normal, and Riley had a suspicious feeling it was all the Rogue King. They needed to rush the process and have a backup if Ethan didn't work out. That's what Luna Marigold and Penelope were working on today. Eli and Alpha Forrester were in meetings, warning the other surrounding packs. However, no one else seemed to have a firstborn daughter. Riley was stuck inside the cottage
"Riley, you need to calm down. I didn't know Penelope would say that. I didn't even know she still had feelings. I needed a mate, and so she would have made an easy choice until I met you. You're my fate, the one the Moon Goddess made for me. I would never choose her or any other. My heart is with you. Sure, I have a past, and I'm sorry if any she-wolves come after you about that. But you have to know how serious I am about you.." Eli didn't get another word out as Riley kissed him. She passionately made out with him, right there in the living room of their cabin. She reached for his pants and undid them with her hands before reaching down and grabbing his dick. She then started to stroke it, all the way down to the shaft and back up to the tip. He was under her trance, and as she let go, she quietly made her way up the stairs. Eli followed. She slowly took her clothes off one by one, allowing Eli to watch the show. She moved to the bed and laid down on her back. "Mark him!" Ava ke
The last two days were filled with tours of the pack and meeting some of their warriors and delegates. They met with families closest to the Alpha, but there still was no mention of when they would have a meeting to go over what brought them here. Eli and Riley had no time for each other, constantly being pulled away for lunches and dinners or shopping trips when not being introduced and in a conversation with others. She was exhausted from the sheer amount of socializing they had done so far. She had never been this social before. She kept putting on a smile and being polite as this is what she would have to get used to being the Alpha's Luna. "Riley! Are you up yet?! Alpha Forrester just called and asked if we could be at his office in 20 minutes," Eli called out from downstairs. Riley groaned and rolled over in bed. This should be more romantic, and she should be getting to know her mate better instead of his past flings. She had been spending a lot of time, especially with Lu
Riley and Eli finished showering and continued to get dressed. "Don't think we're done, Luna," Eli said with a smirk. "We are for now unless you plan to disrespect our hosts by being late," Riley said with a giggle. "I wouldn't dream of it." "What did Alpha Forrester have to say that pulled you away from me?" "Oh, nothing. He just wanted to debrief me on the attacks." "Well, what did he say? We are supposed to work as a team, plus I have some intel that may be of value." "Oh, do you now?" Eli said as he strode across the room to hug Riley from behind as she stood in front of the mirror, "Have I told you how beautiful and perfect you are?" "Thank you," she said with a blush, "But I'm being serious. We should speak before any more private meetings." "I promise," Eli said as he kissed Rileys neck. Coming close to her marking spot, causing her to become aroused once again. "You better stop, I won't be able to contain myself." "I can smell just how much you want me."
