Shawn didn't notice anything was wrong even after hanging up. Jessica was upset, though. "You've been mine and only mine for such a short time—it's going to be over soon. We're going to have to hide again after today."
He gave her a warning look and said, "Don't let Noelle notice anything is wrong. You know what the consequences will be."
She looked at him tearfully. "Alright, alright. You've warned me a thousand times already."
When he saw that she was about to cry, he lowered his head to coax her. "You shouldn't cry now that you're pregnant. It's bad for the baby."
"You were so fierce to me."
"I'll buy you a bag as an apology, okay? Which one do you want?"
She looked up. "Let's go back to the company first. I want you to have me once more before you go home."
He looked disapproving. "I've already told Elle that I'd be home in two hours. I won't make it in time."
"Tell her you got caught in traffic. It's normal for traffic to be bad near the airport…"
