Dominic’s POV

“Speaking of Kelsey,” Mom said, as if reading my thoughts, “how long are you planning to let this charade continue?”

“What charade?”

“This fake domesticity. You don’t love her, Dominic. Anyone with eyes can see that.”

“She’s pregnant with my child.”

“So she claims.”

I stared at my mother. “What’s that supposed to mean?”

“It means,” she said carefully, “that pregnant women have been known to lie about paternity before. Especially when they have something to gain.”

“You think Kelsey would—”

“I think Kelsey would do whatever it takes to become Luna of this pack,” Mom interrupted. “And I think you’re too honorable for your own good sometimes.”

“You were the one who insisted I accept Kesley.”

“That was before I saw Debbie making that gesture. I already suspected, but now…”

I sank back into the sofa. “I don’t want to endure a second round of torment,” I said quietly. “Especially since Kelsey is already pregnant with my child. How could I face both women?”

Mom leaned forward, he

If he had of treated her right from the start this wouldn’t have happened. Although I am a bit confused. Was he with Isabella when he found his mate? Did he leave Isabella when he found Penelope? They had a good relationship prior but where does his hate for her come into it? Maybe I missed it

  • Alpha's Regret: Return of the Rejected Mate   Chapter 145: Walls Closing In

Edward’s POVI forced my face into an expression of righteous concern while my insides churned with fury. Nathan’s attack on Dominic was exactly what I needed—a perfect distraction from my own crumbling operation. Every accusation the old Alpha hurled gave me cover for the rage boiling beneath my skin.“His people had nothing to do with this,” Penelope said firmly, her voice cutting through Nathan’s tirade. The certainty in her tone made my jaw clench. She believed Dominic completely now. The woman I’d manipulated for months was slipping through my fingers like water. My phone vibrated against my chest. Another message. I gave away nothing while reading:Council raids spreading. Safe house network compromised. Benjamin trail leading directly to main operations.Every word felt like a nail in my coffin. Dr. Voss had sworn our financial connections were undetectable, but investigators were clearly following breadcrumbs straight to my door.I needed to leave immediately, but abandoning th

  • Alpha's Regret: Return of the Rejected Mate   Chapter 144: Accusations

Dominic’s POVI sat in the uncomfortable hospital chair beside Penelope, watching Debbie sleep against her mother’s shoulder. The little girl’s breathing was steady and peaceful, her small face relaxed in a way that made my chest ache with relief.Penelope stared at the far wall, her mind clearly elsewhere. I could see her processing everything that had happened—the attack, the rescue, the evidence that had been planted against my pack.“She keeps asking about the bad men,” Penelope said suddenly, not looking at me. “Whether they’re really gone.”“What do you tell her?”“That they can’t hurt her anymore, but I don’t know if that’s true.”Debbie stirred slightly, mumbling something in her sleep. Penelope’s hand moved to stroke her daughter’s hair.“Dominic,” she said quietly, finally turning to meet my eyes. “I owe you an apology.”I blinked, caught off guard. “For what?”“For believing you could do this. For thinking you’d hurt children.” Her voice was soft but steady. “The evidence se

  • Alpha's Regret: Return of the Rejected Mate   Chapter 143: Medical Safety

Penelope’s POVI sat in the Iron Mountain hospital’s family wing, holding Debbie close while medical staff examined Tommy and Elara for trauma from their kidnapping ordeal. Their parents had gathered, crying with relief as they were finally reunited with their children.“Ramona,” Dr. Kloss said gently to Elara’s mother, “we recommend counseling for all three children. Traumatic experiences like this can have lasting effects.”“Whatever she needs,” she replied through tears, not letting go of her daughter. “Thank you for bringing him back to us.”Tommy’s father lifted his son from the hospital bed, holding him tight. “Daddy’s here now, Tommy. You’re safe.”I watched these reunions with my own tears threatening to spill over. The other parents gathered their children and prepared to leave, their families whole again thanks to Debbie’s courage and Dominic’s rescue.“Bye, Debbie,” Tommy called as his parents led him toward the exit. “You were really brave.”“Stay safe,” Elara added, waving

  • Alpha's Regret: Return of the Rejected Mate   Chapter 142: Total Collapse

Edward’s POVI watched helplessly as Dominic loaded Penelope and the children into his vehicle, completely destroying months of careful planning and manipulation. My staged ambush had been meant to injure Penelope enough that she’d require my hospitality and medical care, providing perfect cover for drugging and transporting her to my laboratory.Instead, Dominic’s unexpected arrival had turned the situation into a genuine rescue that painted him as the hero while I stood alone among the bodies of my own operatives. The children’s testimonies about kidnappers would trigger investigations that might uncover my network’s activities, especially if analysis revealed connections between the attackers and my underground operations.Worse, Dominic’s obvious suspicion about my fighting performance suggested the Alpha had detected deception in my behavior during the staged combat.Professional warriors recognized when someone was deliberately avoiding effective engagement, and Dominic’s tactica

  • Alpha's Regret: Return of the Rejected Mate   Chapter 141: Predator’s Hunt

Dominic’s POVMy car engine roared as I pressed brake. The sound of gunfire cracking through the forest had frozen me. Penelope was in immediate danger, and every second I wasted could be her last.I abandoned all attempts at stealth and crashed through the underbrush like a charging bull. Branches whipped across my face and thorns tore at my clothes, but I didn’t slow down. My wolf was howling inside my mind, demanding I reach our mate before something irreversible happened. When I burst into the clearing, the scene confirmed my worst fears. Penelope was pinned behind a fallen log while masked attackers closed in from multiple directions. Bodies were scattered around the area—she’d clearly been holding her own—but she was outnumbered and running out of cover.Edward was running near the treeline with Debbie, Tommy, and Elara clustered around him, out of Penelope’s eyeline. Something about his demeanor struck me as completely wrong. He wasn’t panicking or shouting orders. He wasn’t try

  • Alpha's Regret: Return of the Rejected Mate   Chapter 140: Mother’s Fury

Penelope’s POVI pushed through the dense underbrush, following what I hoped was my daughter’s trail, when a soft voice drifted through the trees.“Mommy?”My heart stopped. “Debbie?”“We’re here, Mommy!”The voice came from a small clearing ahead. I broke into a run, branches tearing at my clothes as I crashed toward the sound. Three small figures emerged from behind a fallen log—Debbie, Tommy, and Elara, all dirty and frightened but moving under their own power.“Oh my god,” I gasped, dropping to my knees as Debbie ran straight into my arms. She hit me like a small missile, her thin arms wrapping around my neck so tight I could barely breathe. “Mommy, I was so scared but I remembered everything you taught me about being brave.”“You’re safe now, baby. You’re safe.” I held her close, checking for injuries while Tommy and Elara pressed against my sides. All three children were filthy and shaken, but I couldn’t see any serious wounds.“Mommy, bad men took us to a dark place,” Debbie sai
