Tyler

Damn, just as I thought—I can’t control myself around her. Every time she looks uneasy, I want to embrace her. I’ve never felt this way before.

Ring... ring... ring.

Perfect timing, Dad. Tyler’s dad was calling, and he answered the phone.

“Hey, Dad!”

“Ty... where are you?”

Tyler replied, “What’s up? Are the movers done already?”

“In about an hour, they will be. Have you eaten dinner yet? Where are you?”

“I haven’t eaten yet. I’m waiting on my friends, then we’ll go eat. I’m at the amusement park right now.”

“Okay, son. Just make sure you eat. I sent you the new address for our house.”

“Dad, I think I might stay out late tonight and sleep over at a friend’s house.”

“Well, let me know for sure in an hour.”

“Okay, Dad,” Tyler said before hanging up.

I really don’t want to meet Dad’s new girlfriend, but I also don’t want to be around my friends right now. I need to walk and clear my head. Damn, I can’t get that girl out of my head.

Walking past the exit of the ride, he noticed the photo booth for the ride pictures. Looking up at the monitor, he saw they’d captured a perfect picture of him and Breanna kissing. He smiled and walked up to the counter.

“I want a copy of that one.”

Breanna

“Bre, are you sure you’re okay? You just got kissed twice by the same random guy,” Kallie asked anxiously.

“Yeah, I’m fine. He just kissed me. It’s not like anything else happened.”

“So, you liked it then,” Jake said bluntly.

“Jake!” Kallie yelled.

“Well, it’s not like I disliked it. He is good-looking,” I replied without thinking.

“Oh, that’s awesome, Bre!” Kallie said happily.

“But he was so forceful. You need to be careful—what if he’s a stalker?” Jake warned.

“Let’s go eat. I’m starving,” I said, changing the subject.

Tyler

Damn, I’ve been walking for over 40 minutes, and I still can’t get that Breanna girl out of my head. I didn’t even tell everyone I was leaving.

Ring... ring...

“What’s up, Dad?”

“The movers finished earlier than expected. Are you staying at a friend’s house tonight?”

“No, I’m almost home.”

“Okay. I’ll be staying overnight at work, and once Annabel is done with her shift, she’ll be coming here to the office to stay with me.”

“Okay, Dad. So will I see you tomorrow night after work, then?”

“It might be before then.”

“Okay, well, I’m almost home. I’m going to take a shower and go to bed.”

“Okay. Goodnight, Ty.”

“Night, Dad.”

Breanna

“Bre, are you home yet?”

Mom always gets worried when I walk home at night.

“Yes, Mom, I’m already in the house. It’s so nice.”

“Okay. I’ll be at Rick’s office tonight, so I’ll see you in the morning.”

“Okay, Mom. I’m really tired, so I’m going to shower and sleep on the couch tonight.”

“All right, dear. I love you.”

“Love you too, Mom. Night.”

Bing. Oh, a text from Mom.

“The room downstairs is the guest room. The one across from it is Rick’s office, and the room at the top of the stairs to the right is mine and Rick’s. Yours is all the way down the hall at the end.”

But what about the room before mine? I wondered as I walked past it. Oh well, I’ll ask tomorrow. I texted back, “Okay. Night.”

I grabbed my clothes and towel from my backpack on the floor that I’d packed in the morning. Opening the bathroom door, I noticed it connected to the other bedroom.

I wonder why Mom didn’t say anything about that.

Oh well, I thought as I stripped and got into the shower.

  • Basorexia   Breakfast with friends

"Well, that was fun," Tyler says as he reaches to pull Breanna into a hug.She pushes him away. "There was nothing fun about that. Jake is going to tell my mom, and even if he doesn’t, she’ll know just by looking at these marks."Tyler doesn’t let her go so easily—he hugs her tight, his grip too strong for her to break free. Leaning in, he whispers in her ear, "Those will fade if you hold ice on them for a bit. We can convince him not to say anything to your mom, so don’t worry—it’ll work out."He kisses her forehead before finally releasing her. "But you can only hide the ones your mom would be able to see," he adds with a smirk as he pulls on his shirt.Breanna sighs and grabs her clothes from the floor, quickly putting everything on—except her bra.Tyler watches her with a raised eyebrow. "What are you doing?"Breanna looks at him, confused. "What do you mean?"He picks up her bra from the floor and hands it to her. "

  • Basorexia   Good morning

Too tired to freak out, Breanna says, "What are you doing here, Tyler?"He pulls her closer and replies, "Well, first off, this is my room."Breanna can smell the alcohol on his breath. "Ty... why are you drinking? And why did you come back?""I don’t normally drink, but I feel like you’re making me go crazy. I want you by my side. I felt uneasy with another guy being here. You never text me, yet you took the note off your door."Silence fills the room."I'm sorry," Tyler says.Breanna turns to face him. "What for…?"Tyler doesn’t reply."Ty..." Breanna whispers."No... why did you have to do that? I've been trying so hard to hold back," Tyler says before pulling her closer and kissing her. Then, he gets on top of her.Hearing the way she whispered his name, seeing the way she looked at him—it drives him over the edge. He wants her so badly, he can't hold back anymore. His hands start to trace

  • Basorexia   Feeling unwanted

Tyler was fuming as he drove to Dave’s house. He had thought Breanna came back to see him, not to make sure he left before Jake showed up. What was she hiding? Why did it even matter if Jake saw him there? The more he thought about it, the more irritated he got.Grabbing his phone, Tyler called Dave.“Hey, man, what’s up? Are you on your way yet?” Dave answered.“Yeah. Are your parents home?” Tyler asked.“No, they won’t be back until tomorrow. What’s wrong?”“I need to drink. Are you down?”“Always.”“Cool. I’ll be there in five,” Tyler said before hanging up.“Wow, Bre, this house is amazing,” Kallie said, spinning around to take in the large living room.“Yeah, it’s awesome,” Jake agreed.“Let’s order some pizza. It’s already 7 o’clock. Rick gave me his card so I could get food and stuff,” Breanna said, walking toward the kitchen.“That was nice of him,” Kallie said, leaning on the counter.“Yeah, but it sounds like he’s trying to buy your love,” Jake quipped.Kallie rolled her eye

  • Basorexia   Girl talk

“You’re right, it’s not like he goes to our school or anything,” I sighed, hoping that wouldn’t be the case.“So… how is he in bed?” Kallie asked, leaning in and lowering her voice so no one else could hear.“Kallie… OMG, stop,” I said, embarrassed.“Come on, this is exciting! We never get to girl talk like this!”I stared down at my soda, feeling my cheeks heat up. In a low voice, I admitted, “He’s really, really good.”“He better be with looks like that. How big is he?” she teased.“Kay, stop...”“Come on,” she pressed, grinning.“Big,” I muttered, feeling my face flush crimson.“I’m surprised you can walk,” Kallie teased, laughing.I rolled my eyes but couldn’t stop myself from adding, “He put me in the bath afterward, then carried me to bed.”“So, he’s sexy, big, good in bed, and a gentleman. What’s the problem?”“He’s Rick’s son, Kallie. And we have adjoining rooms connected by a bathroom,” I groaned, placing my face in my hands.“That you’ve already had sex in. The deed is done.

  • Basorexia   Sleeping arrangements

“Oh no, dear... you can sleep in our bed tonight while we’re gone,” Annabel said.“Anna, our bed was part of that delivery,” Rick reminded her in a worried tone.“She can stay in my room tonight,” Tyler offered. “I’ll go to Dave’s house. I don’t feel comfortable letting her sleep on the couch.”“What a gentleman,” Annabel said with a warm smile.“Thank you,” Breanna whispered softly.“Tyler, can you be home early tomorrow so Bre won’t have to be here with the movers by herself?” Rick asked.“No, it’s fine,” Breanna quickly interjected. “Kallie and Jake will be here. He doesn’t have to come early.”Rick raised a brow and looked at Annabel. “Is Jake her boyfriend? Are you sure he’ll be okay here?”Annabel chuckled lightly. “No, dear. Jake has been her friend since kindergarten. He’s more like a big brother. Plus, he’s been dating her best friend for the last three years.”Feeling Tyler’s gaze on her, Breanna added, “We’ve all been friends since kindergarten.”“That’s right,” Annabel con

  • Basorexia   Breakfast

BreannaHearing what Rick said, Breanna looked at her mom and asked, “Sleeping Beauty?”Her mom giggled and replied, “Yes, earlier he referred to you as Sleeping Beauty. When you were asleep on the couch last night and this morning, Tyler saw you as he left for a run.”Turning her face downward to hide her blush, Breanna thought to herself, A run? How can that guy have so much energy after everything that happened last night? And he said he didn’t sleep properly either. As if reading her thoughts, Rick added, “Don’t worry, he wouldn’t do anything weird to you while you were sleeping. He’s not like Prince Charming in that sense.”Just then, Tyler walked into the room, his timing impeccable. “What do you mean I’m not like Prince Charming?” he asked, smirking.“I wasn’t talking about your looks, son,” Rick replied. “I meant you wouldn’t take advantage of a sleeping woman.”Chuckling to himself, Tyler said, “No, Dad… never to a sleeping beauty.” He thought to himself, I prefer her awake.
