Alsie Jones is a homicide detective in the human world. Alsie Neferet is a 24-year-old member of the Far-Side Moon Pack. Alsie is a human-wolf hybrid, or so she has been told her entire life. The Far-Side Moon Pack is the largest, most powerful, pack on the West Coast and it is undergoing a leadership transition, with the 24-year-old Sandolf Triplets preparing to become the new Alphas. However, their father, current Alpha, Kordell, will not step down until the triplets find their Luna. Osiris, Evander, and Andrew know who their mate is. When they decide to discuss the matter with their father, they encounter a deity named Wepwawet who gives them a warning: "Keep Alsie safe, or I will bring ruin to your family and pack." The triplets must ensure Alsie's safety, navigate interactions with the Sheriff's Office, investigate a pack member's murder, and locate an ancient artifact on neutral ground, all before their 25th birthday. While also learning that their story and history isn’t entirely accurate. Alsie is destined to become one of the most powerful beings of the Underworld on the planet, if she can stay alive. Alsie and the Sandolf triplets must join forces with other beings of the supernatural, the underworld, and humans alike to accomplish and fulfill the prophecy of King Sekhemkhet and keep centuries old bloodlines alive. On this journey Alsie and the triplets will come across witches, warlocks, vampires, werefoxes, and a species that was thought to be a myth, the werecats descendants and guardians of Ra. All the while Alsie is still holding on to her job in the human world, as a detective. The more she investigates the death of their pack member the closer she gets to the ultimate enemy Fenrir the evil monstrous wolf of Ragnarok.

Ugh… it’s happening again, that damn phone! I feel like I just got to sleep. I reach over to my nightstand and answer it.
“Yes, this is Detective Alsie.”
“We caught another one Als.”
“Sarah, how is this even possible? We weren’t next to catch Floyds and Banks were. Have you been home at all tonight?”
“Floyds and Banks caught a double with robbery as a possible motive. That means we’re next up. Gotta love budget cuts. No, I haven’t been home yet. I know you live about 4 hours away, so I’m going to crash in the bunkroom until you get here.”
“Alright. Let me get showered, grab something to eat quick and I’ll head back in. I should be there in about 4-5 hours.”
“Ok, Als. See you then.” Sarah hangs up. I look at the alarm clock on my nightstand and it reads 2:14am. I guess 3 hours of sleep is better than none. I’m so taking a day off after this.
I stand up, grab some clean undergarments, and walk into my bathroom to shower, brush my teeth, and get ready for another long day. This was one of those times when I thought about living in the human world city. It would make my job so much easier. The commute time alone would be worth it. But truth be told I liked the comfort of the pack.
My name is Alsie, and I am a member of the Far-Side Moon Pack. I am 24 years old. I am a Human-Werewolf Hybrid. My mom Ariel was a human, and my dad William was the Beta of the Far-Side Moon Pack. Both of my parents died by the time I was 11 years old. My mother passed away when I was 9 years old, due to complications with cancer. My father died in battle when I was 11 years old. After my father’s death I lived in the packhouse with Alpha Kordell, Luna Jazmine, and their triplet sons Osiris, Evander, and Andrew.
The triplets were supposed to take over the pack at the age of 18, they didn’t. Alpha Kordell made a proclamation that they couldn’t take over the pack until they met their fated mate. If they didn’t find their fated mate by their 25th birthday, and they could agree to a mate, they could take a contract mate and in turn take over the pack. Their 25th birthday was coming up in 21 days. The she-wolves throwing themselves at the triplets were insane and rather pathetic.
I, along with the triplets will be turning 25. The triplets and I are not that close anymore, even though we lived in the same house for 7 years, we are the same age and went to the same school. When we were younger, we would play together, but because I am a hybrid, I stayed on the small side and I didn’t have full wolf senses, so as I got older, I stayed to myself.
I was looked after, never picked on or bullied, but not treated all that well by the Alpha and Luna. They did their job, I was fed, clothed, housed, and made to go to school. I liked school, so I did well, I got good grades.Once I turned 18, I was allowed to move into one of the warrior cottages, if I got a job. I got my 1st job right after graduation at the Far-Side Diner. It was there that I met Brooklynn. Brooklynn is the one who encouraged me to go to the human police academy, I did. She said I’d be good at it and since I’m part-human I could get by. I passed my courses with flying colors, was placed at the 14th precinct and 3 years later I made detective, homicide division. That’s what I do day in and day out, I solve human murders. I love my job. It’s like a real-life game of Whodunit, or Clue. Sometimes it feels like a tv show. I still can’t believe that I get to do this job, and I get to do it away from the Far-Side Moon Pack. Don’t get me wrong, I love my pack and my home, but I also love the independence my job gives me.
Since I’m half human I didn’t get my wolf on my 18th birthday. I did notice some heightened senses like my hearing, my sense of smell, and my vision were for lack of a better word “better”. When I’m focusing on something, I get mad or irritated, my eyes will get a little darker in color. Sometimes when I’m trying very hard to figure something out, it’s almost as if there is a voice in my head talking me through the issue or problem, helping me along the way. I think since I didn’t get my wolf, that is why I haven’t found my fated mate. It may never be in the cards for me and that’s ok. I have a good life. I have a good job, I make decent money, I have friends both in the pack and in the outside world. I’m fine with how my life is. If this is all the Moon Goddess has in store for me, then that’s ok. It’s not a bad life. It’s, quite the good life.
I get myself showered, dressed, and I go to the kitchen to grab a quick bite of some leftover take-out, make myself an iced coffee, grab my keys, and phone. I put my shoulder holster on and put my badge in my zip-up hoodie pocket. I do a quick look around my place to make sure the lights are off, the milk is put away, and the windows are closed. Everything looks good. I ask myself, “Are you forgetting anything?" YES! I need my notepad. It's upstairs on my nightstand, next to my phone charger. I grab my little spiral notepad and out the door I go.
Right before I close the front door, I turn on my porch light. I know it’ll be daylight soon, but that doesn’t mean it’ll be daylight when I get back. Nobody likes trying to unlock their door, tired after a long day at work, and you can’t see anything. Fumbling for your keys in the dark is the worst. I close the front door and lock it. Then I turn around to go to my car.
“AWWW! Osiris, what the hell? You scared the shit outta me. Why are you here? Why are you standing in the shadows of my front porch? What the hell?”
“You said that already.”
“Ok, what the hell? Saying I said that already isn’t an answer, and that was creepy.”
“Sorry, my fault. You couldn’t sense me at all?”
“No. I’m half-human and don’t have a wolf, you know this.”
“Hey guys.”
“AWWW! WHAT. THE. HELL? Evander, what are you doing here? Andrew are you here too? I can’t take another jump-scare, I think I’ll stroke out. Geez Osiris, you didn’t sense your brothers?” I ask with the words dripping with sarcasm.
“Hey y’all.”
“Can any of you explain this to me? Why are all three of the Sandolf Alpha triplets playing hide and go seek around my cottage at the same time I’m trying to go to work?”
“Umm, I was out taking a walk, couldn’t sleep and I noticed your lights come on. I didn’t think anyone in the pack was awake at this ungodly hour of the morning. Then you walked outside and yelled at me.”
I giggled quietly, “Osiris, I don’t think that was the exact order of it, but ok.”
“I was watching you.”
“Andrew, that’s creepy and it’s called stalking. Pretty sure it’s illegal even here in Far-Side.”
The four of us laughed, for a moment it was like our pup days in the packhouse together. It’s moments like this, when I miss these guys. When it’s just the four of us, it’s easy and care-free.
“Alright you guys, I must get going to work. I’ve got a long drive ahead of me.”
“I’ll walk you to your car.”
“We’ll all walk her to her car, Osiris.” I thought I heard a little bit of possessiveness in Evander’s voice. Weird.
“Hey, my car is 20 feet away in the driveway, as long as you three don’t have any other brothers I don’t know about, I think I’ll be fine. I mean, come on, I carry a gun.”
The four of us proceeded to my car together. They weren’t going to take no for an answer. I clicked my key FOB, unlocked my door, and as I was about to get in the driver’s seat Osiris put his hand on my shoulder. I turned to face him, he pulled me close, and kissed me.
Andrew’s POV-“Hey, what was that thought about? That thought ‘that explains Andrew’ that you had?” I asked Rana and Alsie. I could see from the pupils that both were equally front and center. She laughed, “It explains your ‘light everything on fire and ask questions later’ attitude about everything in life. That’s how rogues think and act. I didn’t say it wasn’t attractive. I love that fire, that disobedience, in you. Osiris is very buttoned up, hard to read. Those qualities make for a great leader. Evander is a thinker, a planner, quiet, doesn’t like to rock the boat. Evander evens you out. You and Evander work well together, you need each other. Osiris is more independent, he does well by himself.”“Hmmm.” I hummed, that was a pretty accurate assessment of each of us.“I’m tired. Can we get some rest?” asked Evander.“You don’t want to talk about what we just witnessed?”“No, Si. Not right now. I want to talk about it later, after I’ve wrapped my head around it all.”“I’m hungry,”
Alsie/Rana POV-A flood of thoughts and memories came rushing into my field of vision. I staggered on my feet and had to sit down immediately. I saw all of Kordell’s memories. The birth of the triplets. Wait, that’s not Luna Jazmine! Kordell’s second wedding to a contract Luna, Luna Jazmine.Another flood of memories burst into my head. These memories are of my childhood, me shifting before I could walk, the witch putting the first binding spell on me, the binding spell wearing off at age seven, Osiris hurting his knee, me growling at Kordell and Luna Jazmine calling Osiris my mate, the same witch putting a second binding spell on me, Kordell furious with my parents for wanting to bind me again, Kordell talking to Luna about me and the triplets being mates, Kordell making my mom and dad move into the pack house.More memories: Kordell fighting with Luna Jazmine over their contract and making her stay for the sake of the boys, Kordell and Jazmine signing a new contract after 10 years,
Alsie/Rana-POV-“VAMPIRE!” I snarled. “Get the fuck outta here with that! I’m part ancient vampire! That bitch Lilith is no joke! This can’t be right!”As much as I wanted to protest what I was just told, I knew it was true. I knew something else powerful lived within me. I never thought it would a vampire.Osiris howled, and the room shook. The windows vibrated, but he stayed in his chair.I gasped; my eyes went wide, my chest hurt. Vampires are our mortal enemy, and the blood of one of the most ancient runs through me.Andrew gripped the table so hard he broke a piece off. I can feel the betrayal he feels. I didn’t betray him, I didn’t know.Evander growled loudly in my direction, his eyes going full black, his double pupils becoming one. His wolf was in full control, he hadn’t shifted. His canines were dropped, his claws were out, his eyes said “I am all wolf” but he was still in his human form. It was a bigger, stronger, human form. Evander got up from his chair and started to wal
Rana POV-Fenrir has been here, on these lands. Fenrir has contacted wolves within my pack. Why? The artifact? It must be the artifact. What is the damn thing?“Wepwawet?”“Yes, Rana?”“What is the artifact that Fenrir is searching for?” I ask. I need to know if I am in danger. If I am in danger, so are my mates and that is unacceptable.“It is believed that the artifact that Fenrir is looking for is worth about $3.8 million.”“Weppy, Fenrir isn’t here looking for money, or things that can get him money. What is he looking for?”“Fenrir is looking to return all the Norse gods' lost artifacts. He believes that Freyja’s Necklace is here. He has already retrieved Odin’s spear and ring, and Heimdall’s Horn. If he finds out you’ve been awakened and are mated, it’s going to cause big problems.”“Like what Weppy?” I ask, hoping against all hope Wepwawet doesn’t say War of the Patheon.“It would be the War of the Patheon, and Raet-Tawy herself would have to be resurrected, or at least her gen
Rana POV-I’m so over all this bullshit. I reached up and touched Andrew’s hand, the hand that was wrapped around the throat of this “warrior” whose name I didn’t even know.“Andrew, what’s his name?” I purred.Andrew quickly turned his head in my direction. I’m sure the nature of my voice and how I asked the question was not what Andrew was expecting.“His name?” Andrew asked me.“Yes, my love, what is his name?”“Brandon, his name is Brandon,” Andrew replied, not yet releasing Brandon’s throat.“Can you sit Brandon in a chair, so I can get some answers from him?”“Not if you’re going to do it the same way you did with Jacob,” Andrew protested.I laughed coldly, “He’s a mere low-level warrior and has a simple mind. I won’t have to go that far.”“Rana, I swear to the Goddess if you are going to pull any of that same shit, I’ll just rip his throat out right now. We don’t need any more half-mates. Kael is not going to let that slide again. You are our mate, and that was not cool.”“Half
Alsie POV-“I’m going to step out really quick. I need a moment. Osiris, when Beta Benji gets back from escorting Jacob to the shacks, can you help him escort these warriors to suites 3 and 4 upstairs, unlock the adjoining doors, and lock the suite doors from the hallway? I want them detained until I can sort a few things out.”“Of course, Gorgeous. I got you covered.”“Thank you.” I replied.I looked up and my eyes met Sarah’s, I needed to talk to my friend, away from everyone else.“Feel like some company?” Sarah asked me.“Yes.” I sighed with relief.I walked out of the conference room. Sarah followed me. We walked up the stairs, and out to the balcony off the second-floor landing. I opened the glass door, and we went to the little sitting area located in the far corner of the balcony. It was quiet, and somewhat secluded. I was hoping it would provide some privacy so we could talk freely.“Spill it, Alsie what are you thinking?”“I’m thinking this pack is a mess. We have an open ca
