Ember's POV
My eyes slowly fluttered open and landed on the ceiling. For a moment I did nothing but just stare dumbly at the ceiling absentmindedly, enjoying the peace and silence that came with being alone.
It's been a day since we came back from the beach resort and I've had a lot of time to think and decide what it is I want for the kids and I. Truth to be told, right from the very beginning I already knew what I wanted. I just needed the courage to go for it.
I sighed, sitting up. "I wonder where Mia is?" I muttered under my breath, glancing at the time. It was already 9 am yet no sign of her which is so unlike her. She's like a leech I always wanted to get rid of every morning because she's always in my face trying to get me to wake up, get dressed and get ready for the day. Funny how I'm actually looking forward to actually seeing her when other days I want her gone or missing.
