“What a lonely number.” Grabbing the rag, I needed to clean my hands off. “I am done. There wasn’t much to do.”
Walking back to the office section, Maddox was right behind me. “Go on a date with me?”
My hand hovered above the computer mouse. “Excuse me? Driver’s license.”
Maddox reached into his wallet and dropped his license in front of me. “I’m sure you remember what a date is? When a guy takes a girl out to eat and then maybe a movie.”
Rolling my eyes, I wasn’t exactly eager to go. “Why would I want to?” I challenged as I tossed back his license. “$200.”
“That’s steep.”
“You brought a Lamborghini into my shop and thought it would cost $50? If that is too much for you, you can’t afford me.”
“What can I do to entice you to go?” Maddox dropped his black card in front of me. Something that annoys the shit out of me when customers do that.
“Give me a good fucking reason I should go. You slammed me against the wall, touched my waist without making sure I even wanted you to do that. You are acting as if I should toss myself at your feet. Called Brett sexy next to your bike. All things that don’t exactly make me feel warm and fuzzy inside.”
Maddox took a deep breath. “That mouth might get you into trouble one day.”
Handing him back his card, I just sighed and logged off my computer. “Let me know when that day is so I can be ready.”
As I tried walking back to the garage part, Maddox took my arm and whipped me around. “I’m serious. I want a date.”
“Did my left knee not do the trick? Does my right one need to remind you what man handling me means?”
I wasn’t prepared for Maddox to move to quickly. Bending over, he grabbed my knees and picked my legs up. Wrapping them around his waist, he slammed me against the wall again. This time, my hands instinctively wrapped around my neck for support. The fire that burned in my stomach wasn’t like anything I ever experienced before. His lips were barely touching mine. Something hard poked into my core, something I had never felt before, but knew exactly what it was.
“I enjoy a chase. You are far too beautiful for me to play games. I’m being serious. I want to do this right. Take you out. Let me show you the real me.”
Everything in me screamed for him to touch me, kiss me and make me feel things I had never felt before. However, I believe in the mate bond. True love and I wanted that. “Give me a good reason why. I believe in the mate bond, do you?”
“I do.” Maddox moved down to my neck as he breathed in my scent.
“Why go on a date with you if you aren’t my mate? I don’t turn 18 for a few weeks.”
“Maybe I can show you what a real man acts like, how a lady is supposed to be treated.”
“How many women have you shown that to?” I asked. Maddox came back up and looked at me in the eyes.
His silence was all I needed to know. “I know of your reputation and what a play boy you are. I won’t be another notch on your bedpost.”
His hand moved to cup my neck. “I guess I will just have to show you how honest I am being when I say that I want to get to know you for who you are. That starts with a date.”
“I’ll think about it. It sounds like we will be seeing each other tonight. Plus, don’t you have a few girls wanting to meet up with you?”
“You are intoxicating.” Maddox took a deep breath in. It was as if he wasn’t listening to anything I was saying. “I usually don’t go this slow, but for you, I will.”
Maddox’s hand pushed up my neck as he gently placed a kiss just under my jaw. “This is slow?” My breathing was heavy. With each breath, my chest pushed deeper into his.
Pulling back. Maddox set me down low, but kept me between him and the wall. “I’m usually not a patient man when I want something.”
“I’m not something for you to conquere.”
“You are a prize. One that I intend to win over.” He took a step back and looked at how flushed I was. “I like this look on you. Especially since I am the one that put it there.” He gave me a smirk as he started to leave. Just before he was out of sight, he leaned back in. “Oh, by the way. I wasn’t talking about Brett when I said there was someone sexy by my bike.”
With that, he turned and left. Nothing moved on me until I heard his bike start up. He was out within seconds, flying away without looking back.
“Holy shit.” I sighed as I let out a breath I didn’t know I was holding. He was so fucking sexy that I lost my brain. Normally, I would have punched him in the face for touching me that way. However, my body begged for it and that was dangerous. Maybe going on a date was a bad idea.
Shaking my head, I needed to finish closing down and heading back. A storm was building, and I didn’t want to get caught in it. My pack was a thirty-minute drive away, out of the city. As much as I loved taking my time, something told me I needed to get home, and quickly.
The hair was standing up on the back of my neck as I got onto my bike. Someone was watching me. Looking around, my wolf couldn’t figure out who or where it was even coming from. After one last look at my shop, I hit the gas and didn’t stop. Even as the headlights flashed behind me.
“How do I look?” I asked as she brushed out the curls, leaving it wavy and flirty. “I’d do you.” Jo nodded as she helped me put on my sandals and zip them up. “Do you need Maddox to carry you?” “Nope, I am okay. Can’t lean on him forever.” “I actually think he likes it.” Jo smiled as she opened the bedroom door. “That surprises me.” Jo shrugged. “I think he still feels guilty about you getting hurt, so he is overcompensating. Plus, it is a way he can get his arms around you without you smacking him.” “That isn’t wrong.” I said as we moved down the stairs. It hurt some, but not terrible. “It’s getting better.” I sighed. By the time we hit the bottom, I was ready to sit down. “Maybe a drink will help.” Jo smirked and let me use her arm for support. “You have a meeting first and then you can have a drink.”She guided me to a door off the foyer. “What a buzz kill.” I groaned as she opened the door. “Tate.” Cade sighed as he took three quick steps towards me. Gently, he wrapped his
“So you just want the title, so you can make them leave you alone?” I flipped it back on him for the fun of it. “No, I want to date you….” Maddox sighed and walked out of the bathroom. I’m sure he could hear me laugh before he slammed the bedroom door shut. Since I had the privacy now, I just imagined Maddox’s massive dick taking care of my needs. It was the fastest I had ever found my release, and the conditioner wasn’t even in my hair for five minutes. After a fresh shave, my side was starting to ache enough that I was ready to get out. It was getting easier to move, after gently wrapping the towel around my hair, I walked to the suitcase ass naked. Pulling out a corset style bodysuit. It was partially see-through, with a yellow and white floral design on it. Keeping it simple with jean shorts, I figured this would drive Maddox crazy and tell the other girls to fuck off. The door opened just as I tried to brush my hair. “Tatum!” Jo rang out. “In here!” I groaned. “You always show
To my horror, the glass door didn’t hide anything as I walked in to see him stroking himself. “Come to help me?” Maddox looked over and saw me. For a moment, my mind went blank, and I forgot why he was in here. “Oh.. um no. Your phone vibrated so I am just bringing it to you.” Suddenly, this felt like a bad idea. Laying it on the counter, I turned to leave. “Read it to me.” That was not the reaction I expected. “Do what?” Maddox opened the glass door. He had shampoo in his har as he smiled at me. “Read me the messages.” “Oh.” I wasn’t expecting that, but it was a good way to see what he said. “Well, the first one is from Joann. She asked, and I quote, have you given it to her yet?” “Respond no, please.” Maddox didn’t elaborate more and there wasn’t anything in the last few messages above it that indicated what it was. “Next time is from Katie. She wants to know if you need company after the gathering tonight?” Maddox sighed. “Reply back however you want to.” Again, my mind w
I don’t even remember falling asleep, but I slept the best I had in days. My head was on something soft, my leg was wrapped around something that was basically rocking me as I slept. “Are you awake?” Maddox whispered in my ear. My eyes snapped open as I looked up. My head was on his chest, my leg was wrapped around him as his breathing calmed me. Maddox must have felt my anxiety, because he started laughing. “It’s okay. I got into bed and you curled into me. Even when you sleep, your body seeks mine out.” My wolf was purring in my head, but my rational brain was coming back. As I tried to pull my leg back, Maddox put his hand on my thigh, keeping me there. “But…”“No. Stay here.” Maddox turned into me, keeping my head against his chest. “I like it.” It took me a while to relax in his arms. This was all new, and I wasn’t sure if I should be doing this. It was uncharted territory that I wasn’t sure about. Wrapping my arm between us, Maddox held me tighter, making me feel almost…. saf
A small smile spread across my face as he got up and got into the pool. For the next hour, I watched as they played football in the pool. Vivian dominated as she threw herself on top of the boys. Maddox and Steele just picked the girls up and tossed them easily to the side, but Spencer was under the water. Pulling their legs out from under them. The girls played dirty as they used their legs to hit their dicks, making them double over. A fresh layer of sweat was forming on me. Taking my towel, it was becoming a lost cause. Instead of wrapping it, I stood up to open the umbrella. “Whatcha doing?” Spencer had his arms laying over the side of the pool.“Trying to open this.” Every time I tried to use a little muscle to open it, I would get a dull pain in my side. Spencer jumped out of the pool. “It’s okay to ask for help.” He gave me a look as he easily opened the umbrella. Feeling a bead of sweat run down my stomach, bent over too quickly to get my towel, sending a white hot pain down
Forwarding it to Cade, I just had a bad feeling about this. It was a clear threat against Brett. I looked around at my new friends. Jo was sitting on the edge of the pool, eating her yogurt. Vivian was beside her as Steele teased the two of them. Faking, he was going to pull them into the pool. Willow was listening to her music with earphones. Everyone was happy and enjoying the day. What were they going to do? As I debated, Cade started calling me. “Hello?” I answered. Everyone turned and looked at me. Not wanting them to overhear me, I got up and walked inside. Thankfully, no one was around. “What the fuck was that?” “I don’t know. I just got the picture. I assume it’s Victoria.” Cade sighed. “Victoria didn’t show up today.” That worried me. “Maybe one of her friends?” The door opened and Jo walked in, giving me a weird look. “I don’t know. Those aren’t even the clothes that Brett is wearing.” “The threat isn’t just against me. I can’t let them hurt innocent people. Maybe I
