Ashina’s POV
Reaching home, I watched the wall clock and realised it is just 5am and Nathan should be asleep and his girlfriend, I have no idea if she had actually spent a night here. Luckily for me, the rest of the pack members were all asleep for I wonder what they would think of me to see a newly wedded wife sneaking in by this time. Entering my room from the back door, I made sure my door was locked as I hastily undressed myself and ran into the bathroom. Standing in front of the mirror, I gazed at my reflection as the thought of having a one night stand with a stranger in the previous hours struck my mind. I only went to the club to drink away my sorrow and now this? First, the only one I love, Nathan, was with another woman. Second, I had lost my virginity to that stranger. It was too much on me as tears flowed down my eyes. Suddenly, my wolf’s voice broke the silence. "Stop crying, Ashina," my wolf spoke in my head, its voice gentle. "At least the stranger didn't reject you because of your size. He showed interest in you, he approached you willingly. That means he appreciates you just the way you are." My tear-filled eyes realised my wolf's words at the unexpected reassurance. I wiped away my tears and took a deep breath, trying to calm the storm of emotions raging inside me "But... but what about my husband?" I murmured, my voice barely above a whisper. Ever since I turned 18 in the previous year, my wolf has always been my closest friend. My wolf is just a year old. My wolf's voice grew stronger, more insistent. "Your husband may not always see your worth, but that stranger did. Remember how he looked at you, how he made you feel desired and beautiful. That kind of love, Ashina, that's the kind you deserve. Not the subtle jabs and hurtful comments disguised as concern." I wiped my tears again, remembering the moment I had shared with the stranger, the way he had made her feel alive and appreciated me in a way I hadn't felt before, he touched me in the right places as I could now clearly remember how I ended up in that bed with him. "My wolf is right." I said to myself. "I deserve to be loved for who I am, not for who someone else wants me to be." My wolf's presence filled me with strength, bolstering my spirit in ways I had never experienced before. With a deep breath, I made my way into the warm shower and switched it on, the warm water pouring down on me and making me feel even more relaxed. *** When it was finally morning, the knocking sound on my door jolted me awake as I saw one of the maids walk in. “Good morning my Luna.” She greeted me, bowing to me in respect while I rubbed the sleep off my eyes. “Sorry to disturb your sleep, Alpha Nathan had sent me to come get you ready. His twin brother is visiting.” She added. Wow! It's great news. Nathan has always told me so much about his twin brother but I haven’t gotten the opportunity to see him in person. I’m glad to hear this news. At least I’ll get to see the twin brother of my best friend, Nathan even though they weren’t identical twins. The maid assisted me in bringing out my dress and once I finished showering, she dressed me much in my royal attire. My long beautiful Luna gown flowing gracefully beneath me. My hair was beautiful stretched as it poured down to my showers and my face, the maid applied a simple but yet beautiful makeup which fitted my look and dress. In addition, I made use of the body fragrance Nathan had bought for me some days ago. Reaching the throne room, my husband was already seated as I sat next to him while the maids bowed their heads. As I sat next to Nathan, my heart raced with excitement. “You look beautiful." His gazed fixed on and then he caressed my hair while I blushed non stop. “Thanks." She replied. The moment was shattered with the sound of the doors opening and a man walked in alongside the servants who carried his luggages. My heart dropped to my stomach. It was him. The man I had a one night stand with, the man who I never thought I would see again. I could feel the heat rising to my cheeks as he approached. Immediately, Nathan stood up from his seat and in open arms, he welcomed his brother as they both hugged passionately. “It’s good to see you, my blood.” Said Nathan while I stood from my seat, standing behind Nathan. And then it happened. Nathan’s twin locked eyes with me in realisation. I could tell he recognized me, and the thought of Nathan finding out about our encounter made me want to disappear into thin air. “Meet my wife, Ashina.” Said Nathan, pulling away from the hug. “Ashina, meet my twin brother, Daniel.” “Hi…” said Daniel. “My brother told me so much about you.” He added and I replied, forcing out a smile. “Same here, nice to meet you Daniel.” I replied, trying to steady my breath. But to my surprise, he didn't create a scene. He simply nodded in acknowledgment and we headed to the feasting table and sat. I couldn't shake the feeling of dread that hung over me. I tried to focus on their exciting conversation, but every time his brother spoke, I couldn't help but steal glances in his direction. I was brought back to reality when Nathan's brother directed a question towards me. I stuttered through my response, trying to maintain composure, but I could tell he saw right through me. It was a good thing that Nathan didn’t observe what was going on. Daniel as well was cool and corporate as he tries to maintain his composure.Author's POV"I would like to introduce you to someone. I guess you both have met countless times. You're familiar with Lucas; he's the one who planted the wolfsbane, and that's not even Jeremiah's doing. You see, I'm going to take over the pack, and with him as my Beta, he would kill Jeremiah, and we all have our enemies down to the ground. We would rebuild and create our own legacy," he divulged as Lucas stared into the eyes of Erica."This game is over before it even starts. This is the beginning of our reign, and Alpha Daniel won't even see us coming. He would be all over his brother, and with the element of surprise, we would have all of them bend to their knees as they acknowledge the true Alpha." Lucas bowed down to him while Erica opted to talk, but the cloth tied around her mouth wouldn't allow it."Let her talk; I would like to hear what she has to say," he ordered Sica as she untied the cloth."There are a lot of things I know you for, but a coward isn't one of them. I wond
Author's POV An Unknown Pack"I've brought food news to my home, and I need you all to understand this: there's a loop, and the realization of our dreams would be now or never," Erica divulged as she stared into the eyes of the man who would make her the Luna when she handed over Nathan's head to him."What brings the prodigal lady to me?""Nathan's been infected by wolfsbane, and he's on his deathbed. His brother can't do this. He's nothing but someone who's going to die in your hands," Erica held her heart in her hands. She knew she could lose her life if she failed."So tell me, how do you expect me to believe your words? I don't buy you walking in here with a smile on your face predicting that you've done the job. There's something that you don't know about me," he chuckled as he suspected her sudden visit."Have you ever wondered why I haven't come to you to make this right? There's a lot that you don't know about. Tonight we strike because they won't see it coming, and trust m
Daniel's POV "What do you mean?" "Someone's going to attack you by night, and trust me when I say this, he's coming to take the pack." She sighed; I wondered how truthful her words were. I hoped for the best. "How do you expect me to believe you? I have bigger issues to handle right now." I was about to leave when she held me back. "Have you ever wondered why I'm not always in the pack? I was sent by someone to take Nathan down and, in return, become the Luna of the pack. But I was about to let Nathan know about it before he got poisoned. I don't have a hand in what happened to Nathan, but I want you to know that I'm going to stand by Nathan because I love him very much and would do anything to find him. The man in question has the cure to wolfsbane; I'll try to steal it if that would prove my loyalty to the pack. You stay back and protect the pack, Alpha Daniel." She divulged, patting my shoulders as she turned to leave. I believed her words, but I wondered why she was planning on
Author's POV "What is your deal? What do you want, wild animals?" "I love it when you use the word wild. I'm wild, but I need you to give me my freedom in exchange for the cure, and if it works on him, then we let you go, and you leave and come back when we are prepared to kill you." Daniel wasn't joking; he knew that Jeremiah would want to trade his freedom for the cure, which entailed that he was the one behind it. "So would you give up your accomplice and have him bring the cure to me so we can get this done and over with?" Daniel proposed the best offer he could think of, reminding himself of what he read in his father's journal. 'When you want to trade with an enemy, have the tables flipped in plain sight, and you have him on your knees.' This was exactly what Daniel hoped to achieve as he clutched his palms on the arms of the chair. "That's not part of the deal," Jeremiah disagreed with his words. "I have my own terms, Jeremiah. You're the seller, and you're selling

Author's POV Erica stepped into the room and found Nathan lying on the ground. She knew that something was wrong and Alpha Nathan needed the Healer. After dragging him to the bed, she dashed out through the hallway screaming Daniel's name, she knew that it would end the conversation he was having with Ashina and they would have to come into the building to know the reason for her screams. She dragged the Healer off the body of one of the members of the pack."The Alpha is in danger and he needs you so let's go" Erica cared less about what they would think of her. She liked Nathan and she was going to do everything in her power to save him. When the Healer walked into the room, he got a closer look at Nathan's body with the words,"It should be not what I'm thinking right now" The Healer was scared and Erica was confused at the shock on his face."What are you thinking?" She inquired."It's wolfsbane... The Alpha has been infected with wolfsbane and we don't have the antidote or the
