Aria’s POV

"Aria!"

I brushed past my friend and sister Jenny and dashed into the bathroom, barely lifting the toilet seat before emptying my stomach with my eyes clenched shut.

"Oh my God! Are you okay?" Jenny’s voice came right behind me as she stepped in.

I slowly pushed myself off the cold floor, pressed the flush, closed the lid, and turned to face her.

"I was planning to tell him," I said, staring blankly into space.

"Tell who? What are you talking about?" she asked, confused.

"I was going to tell your brother Killian..." My voice trailed, a lump forming in my throat. "That we're having a baby."

Jenny’s eyes widened in shock.

A few days ago, under the blazing summer sun at Nightrun Pack, I returned home to the pack mansion overflowing with excitement.

It had been years since I’d come back not just as some ordinary student, but as a lead security analyst. A woman with pride. With purpose.

The car door shut, and Killian stepped out, grabbing our bags as we both walked into the house.

The front door opened and my father jumped to his feet, his face lighting up with joy. I rushed into his arms, a wide smile stretching across my face.

"We're so proud of you, darling," he said, breaking the embrace. "I'm sorry I couldn’t make it to your graduation. When the Alpha is away, I have to stay and protect the pack."

"I understand, Father. Killian was there with me, that's what mattered," I replied, glancing over at Killian with a soft smile.

But he didn’t smile back.

His brows were knit together, like he had something weighing on him.

"Now that you're back," Killian said, "it’s time you start immediately as the top lead security analyst."

"But... I don’t know about that," I muttered, sinking into the couch. "I’m still new to the field. I’m nervous."

"You’ll do just fine," he replied flatly.

That’s when I noticed the shift in his eyes. Something cold. Distant.

"There’s something else I need to say."

My heart fluttered.

This was it.

He was going to propose.

"I found my mate."

Yes! He’s choosing me.

"My mate is Seraphina Nightshade."

"What?" I choked, my eyes following his gaze up the staircase.

A stunning woman in a flowing white silk gown descended slowly, her long brown hair cascading down her back.

She walked straight to Killian and they kissed. Deeply.

"Alpha, what’s the meaning of this?" My father’s voice broke the silence.

I blinked hard. This had to be a dream. A nightmare.

He wouldn’t just throw me away... would he?

"I apologize for my manners," the woman spoke, voice smooth like poison. "I’m Seraphina Nightshade and Killian is my mate."

"You’re a witch!" my father barked. "Alpha, she’s a witch!"

I froze as Killian laid his head on her shoulder, eyes shut, completely at ease.

"What is this, Killian?" I asked, voice cracking. "Tell me this isn’t real."

He raised his head, finally looking at me. “I’m sorry, Aria. She’s right. I can feel the bond.”

"That’s because she’s manipulating you!" I cried. "She’s a witch!"

"You don’t get it, Aria," he replied. "It’s more than emotions and sex. The Moon Goddess never destined us to be together."

"How can you say that?" I turned to my father, pleading.

But the shock on his face was fading… into resignation.

"It’s rare... but the Alpha is right."

His words hit like a dagger. My chest tightened as the betrayal seeped deep.

"Jenny?" I looked at her, desperate.

She sighed, unable to meet my gaze. "Sweetheart... Alpha Killian has made his decision. There’s nothing we can do."

How could he do this?

After everything we went through...

My heart couldn’t take it. I watched helplessly as he wrapped his arms around her again and kissed her like I meant nothing.

No.

I couldn’t bear to stay there a second longer.

My father reached to comfort me, but I shook off his hand and walked away.

When I got to my room, the pain ripped me apart. I threw myself on the bed, tears streaming endlessly, soaking the sheets.

I didn’t care.

He promised me forever. I sacrificed school, time and everything for him.

And now...

A knock shattered my thoughts.

"Go away!" I screamed into the pillow. The knock came again, harder.

I was furious at my father, at Killian, at everything. I shot out of bed, stormed to the door, flung it open and froze.

Killian.

"What do you want?" I asked, swallowing my rage.

"I came to say goodbye," he said quietly, then turned to leave.

"That’s it?"

He paused, turning to face me. "You’re making this harder than it needs to be. The Moon Goddess made her choice. We were never meant to be."

"You’re bonding with a witch! What if she’s controlling you?"

"No," he said. "She’s not. I love her. And she loves me."

He turned and walked away like I was just a phase.

Like we didn’t matter.

He didn’t even suspect there was more to this something bigger than a bond.

I clutched my stomach, the tears falling faster.

We’re having a child. And Killian… will never be a father to our baby.

Aria POVOver my dead body will I let something as evil and disgusting as you thrive here,” she spat out, and the next thing she did shocked me to the bone. She walked over to Lillian and started dragging her by the feet in an attempt to pull her out of the bed she was lying in. This little action of hers immediately got me angry as I stood up and pushed her away slightly. “What is wrong with you? You can see that she's not doing well and needs to be taken care of. Why would you drag her out of bed like that? That is not fair.”“I am doing what needs to be done for the welfare of this pack and my son, so do not stand in my way,” she said as she attempted to walk towards Lillian and do whatever she wanted, but I had to stand in the way to stop her, getting increasingly angry by the moment.“You cannot just drag her away; that's not right,” I clasped my hands together in an attempt to beg and plead with her. “I promise I understand how you're feeling and why you think I might be evil to

  • TORN BETWEEN ALPHAS.    CHAPTER 117

Aria POVI decided to do something more productive for the day, like visiting my friend in the hospital. The thought of what I said to Killian kept replaying in my head, and at that moment, I wished I hadn't said all of that because it might seem like I was being dramatic. But there wasn't much I could do when he was willing to talk to me when I was so upset.I couldn't help but send curses towards that evil Lyra. She is the reason all of this is happening, and for some reason, I cannot get my mind off the fact that maybe she and Killian could be involved in some way. How else would she get the courage to do what she did? It is all so very confusing.I strolled into the place where Lillian was being treated and the first person I saw was Mammon sitting next to her while holding her hands. I couldn't help but smile at myself when I saw this. Lillian is such a good person and deserves someone as good as the beta. It was really a blessing for her to meet someone like him, and he was also

  • TORN BETWEEN ALPHAS.    CHAPTER 117

Aria POV“Please, let's talk things out, Aria,” he called as he walked towards me, trying very hard to catch up. I made sure to walk as fast as my legs could carry me, wanting to keep as much distance as possible between us. “Aria, please just wait and let us talk,” he pleaded while I continued walking fast and said,“I really do not want to talk to you, Alpha Killian,” adding his title just to spite him at that moment. He soon hastened his walk, catching up to me as he held my hand and said,“Can you just wait and listen to me, Aria?” I yanked my hand from his grip and crossed my arms, waiting patiently for what he had to say while looking away, not willing to make any form of eye contact with him, all the while trying my very best to control my rising anger. “Aria,” he called my name, taking steps towards me to close the distance between us. I immediately stepped back, not wanting to be anywhere near him at that moment, as I crossed my arms again and looked away, preventing eye cont

  • TORN BETWEEN ALPHAS.    CHAPTER 116

Aria's POV I wiped the tears rolling down my face as I tried my best to steady my beating heart. At that moment, I wondered why they had managed to hurt me like this. I knew something was going on between them, but I had thought Killian was different. I believed he was a nice person who wouldn't do anything to hurt me, but it pains me to realize just how utterly wrong I was about him. How could he have done this to me? I slid down the door, crying and clutching my chest in an attempt to control the pain I was feeling in my heart. But it seemed nothing was working. All those sweet words and confessions of love were all meaningless. At the end of the day, all he wanted was Thelia? What was the point of leading me on if he was just going to return to her? The betrayal was almost too much to bear.“Aria, I can explain,” Killian said, knocking on the door to my room, trying to go inside. At that moment, keeping him at arm's length was the only thing I wanted. I was hurting badly, feeling

  • TORN BETWEEN ALPHAS.    CHAPTER 115

Killian POVI was stunned when my mother mentioned death, and I instantly looked around but saw nothing. “Mother, there is no death here,” I muttered, trying to calm her down so she could explain what was wrong. “They are.” She pointed at Killian's car, and my heart raced when I saw the defiant gaze of Mammon. Could it be that Lillian has passed away? I walked to the car to examine her situation, and then I saw Lillian lying in the car with an oxygen mask on her face. A sense of dread washed over me as I saw how uncomfortably she lay on the seat. “Have you all lost it? What happened to the hospital? Why is she here? Do you want her death?” I asked thousands of questions in an instant, but none of them could utter a word in response. “I stopped them. She is dead already,” my mother responded. My ears ached from what I heard, and I loosened my grip on the car door and yelled at my mother. “Mother!” She shrugged as I yelled. I could see her fidgeting on the spot. I quickly mainta

  • TORN BETWEEN ALPHAS.    CHAPTER 114

Aria POVMy heart felt like it was sinking into my chest as I listened to the conversation between Killian and Mammon echo through the hallway. What does Lucian want from me?Their voices were tense and urgent, and a chill ran down my spine. I wrapped my arms around my belly, feeling the slight bump that held our future, and a sense of dread settled over me. “Why does he want me as leverage for Lillian’s freedom?” I whispered to myself, my voice barely audible. I couldn’t understand what game Lucian was playing, but the fear of it tightened around me like a vise. The air felt heavy, pressing in on me from all sides, and tears welled up in my eyes. I struggled to comprehend how much Lillian's freedom could cost and why Killian seemed so powerless in this situation. “How much is her freedom that you can’t afford?” I cried, my voice breaking with each word. “Mel, stop this,” Killian pleaded, his eyes filled with a mixture of anger and concern. He reached out, his hand warm and reass
