Hate to Love

A dragon’s fury. A werewolf’s redemption. A mate bond that could either heal… or destroy. Ty Jackson vanished five years ago, betrayed and heartbroken. Now he’s back—deadlier, colder, and wielding the unmatched power of a dragon shifter. Hardened by elite training and driven by vengeance, Ty has no room for weakness... especially not for the ex who shattered him. But destiny doesn’t care about the past. Kai Stone, once Ty’s greatest love and deepest wound, is now a haunted Alpha. After years of torturous military training, brutal missions, and soul-crushing guilt, he’s no longer the cocky boy who let Ty slip through his fingers—he’s a warrior forged by pain, and desperate for one shot at redemption. When Ty and Kai discover they're fated mates, their reunion sets off a storm of power, passion, and unresolved rage. Can a dragon forgive the wolf who broke him? Can a remorseful Alpha prove he’s worthy of the only soul he ever loved? The battlefield awaits—not just for blood, but for hearts. Enemies are rising. The past is hunting them. And this time, love might not be enough to save them.

CHAPTER 1: BACK FROM THE FLAMES
Ty’s POVI didn’t plan on coming back to this place. Not after the betrayal. Not after I clawed my heart out of my chest and handed it to a boy who spit on it.But here I am—duffel bag slung over one shoulder, boots dragging on scorched earth, and five years of rage simmering beneath my skin like wildfire waiting for a spark.“Yo, Ty! You heading out?”The voice jolted me out of my thoughts. One of the trainees from Dragon’s Academy jogged up, his smile too soft for the war I was carrying inside.“Yeah,” I said flatly. “Finally going back.”He clapped me on the back. “Damn. After five years? Bet your family’s gonna lose their minds.”“Yeah,” I muttered, though my voice betrayed none of the emotion. “Can’t wait to see my sister.”Tyra. My anchor. My one real reason to come back.“Take care, man! Hope you find your mate—and not another heartbreak,” he added with a knowing grin and jogged off.My chest twisted, but I smothered the ache. That part of me—the soft, open-hearted idiot who us

CHAPTER 2: RETURN OF THE DRAGON
Ty’s POVI barely remember boarding the plane—just that the second I sank into my seat, the world slipped away again. Guess cross-continental travel has a sedative effect on dragons too.By the time I was standing at the local bus stop, surrounded by curious eyes, I could already feel the shift in energy.People stared. Some tried not to.Others? I could practically hear their thoughts undressing me on the spot. The air reeked of arousal—raw, unfiltered, shameless. But five years of brutal dragon discipline had scorched any trace of weakness from my system. No flings. No flirts. No hormone-driven distractions. Not anymore.Let them look. They wouldn’t survive my fire anyway.I slumped into the final bus, exhausted. Three rides and one jetlagged coma later, my body still ached for a bed. Then—finally—the trees. My pack’s forest. My land. My blood. And waiting at the border? My family.“BROTHER TY!” a high-pitched squeal exploded across the clearing.Tyra.My little sister was a baby wh

CHAPTER 3: PARTY PREPARATIONS
Ty’s POV“Promise me you’ll come to the party tomorrow,” Jax said, eyes narrowing on me after dinner, his tone light but his gaze too intense to ignore.I arched a brow. “Trying to guilt-trip me on your birthday now? Low, even for you.”Before he could answer, Daddy Caius cut in with a smirk. “Don’t worry about that, son. I’ll personally drag Ty to your doorstep with a gift in hand and glitter on his face if I have to.”“Dy!” I groaned, half-laughing, half-horrified. Dy—short for Daddy—was our affectionate nickname for him, but he was anything but angelic when he was in the mood to tease.Laughter erupted around the room, but Dad Tyson’s voice sliced through the levity like a blade.“I know you kids are planning an after-party at the club,” he said, eyes fixed on Jax with that signature dragon-guardian stare—cool, calm, and lethal.Jax’s face drained of color like someone had opened a plug and sucked the blood right out of him.“I-I mean... W-We were gonna mention it... eventually...”

CHAPTER 4: WHEN SILENCE BREAKS
Kai’s POV“How is he? Did he say anything about me? Was he... okay all these years? Is he coming tomorrow? Jax—does he still hate me?”My voice cracked on the last question, but I didn’t care. The dam had broken the moment Jax walked in, and I couldn’t stop the flood.“Jesus Christ, Kai! Let me get through the damn door before you attack me with an emotional ambush,” he huffed, brushing past me like I hadn’t just bare my soul in five gasping seconds.I caught his arm.My grip was strong, but my voice... wasn't.“Please,” I whispered. “Just tell me.”I never begged—not even when I’d been half-dead during torture drills on covert missions. But Ty?Ty was my weakness. My ruin. My reason.Jax exhaled hard and tugged at the ends of his hair, frustration bleeding into compassion. “Fine.”He shut the door behind us, then sank into his bed, motioning for me to sit.I did—and braced myself. He told me everything. And when it was over, I said the one thing I’d never said aloud to anyone.“I was

CHAPTER 5: TRUTHS THAT BURN
Ty’s POVI woke up with a fire humming in my veins.Refreshed. Rested. Alive in a way I hadn’t felt in years. For once, the ghosts didn’t follow me into the morning.I rolled out of bed, freshened up quickly, and padded downstairs. The scent hit me like a warm memory—bacon, eggs, buttery toast, and something sweet baking in the oven.Home.“Good morning, Ty!” Dy called out from the kitchen, flipping pancakes like a culinary god.“Morning,” I replied, inhaling deeply. “Smells criminally good in here.”“Slept well?” Dad asked while he and Tyra set the table with synchronized ease.“I think I missed my bed more than I missed the brownies,” I joked as I slid into my chair.Dad gave me an amused look. Then Dy dropped the bomb.“Son, Tyson and Tyra are coming with me to Green Moss Pack for the week. Alpha Talon’s headed out on business, so I’ll be taking charge while he’s away.”“Just don’t burn the house down while we’re gone,” he added with a pointed grin.Ah. So that’s where this is goin

CHAPTER 6: DEAR EX, YOU ARE MY MATE
Ty’s POVJax appeared just as I was hugging my dads and Tyra goodbye at the pack border.“Happy Birthday, dog,” I smirked, pulling him into a solid bro hug.He scoffed. “Who’s the dog here, you sarcastic snake?”“Jeez,” I sighed dramatically, pulling back. “A simple ‘thank you’ would’ve done, Your Highness. So ungrateful.”I bolted before his comeback could land.Behind me, I heard the distinct snap of bones—Jax had shifted. His massive jet-black wolf tore after me through the forest.Wrong move, pup.My wolf was faster—deadly faster. Trained alongside elite vampires in the Academy, I’d molded him into a machine of speed, power, and stealth. The only wolves who could remotely keep up were those who’d trained for war.Jax? He was Alpha-strong. But speed? That wasn’t his game.I shifted mid-run, my powerful blackish-brown wolf bursting through the underbrush. My paws thundered across the earth, wind slicing through my fur like silver blades.I left him in the dust and veered toward the

CHAPTER 7: ATTACKED
Kai’s POVI saw Ty’s majestic dragon for the first time and for a moment my heart stopped beating when I watched his wolf fall from the cliff towards the volcanic lava base below.I thought for a moment that I had lost him for life and an involuntary howl of pain escaped from my wolf.It proved to be a blunderous move because, as soon as Ty’s beautiful dragon form flew away in the fire coloured sky, I sensed unwanted presences behind me.That stinking smell meant only one thing- ROGUES !Shit. The last thing that I needed after my mate’s wordless rejection was a gruesome war with an army of fucking rogue wolves.Where the hell did so many rogue wolves come from and why didn’t the scouts and trackers not detect them yet.I was cornered at the edge of the cliff and in front of me stood at least fifty strong rogues.I was surely at a disadvantageous position and the dangerously wolfsbane poisoned claws were adding to my worries. The thought of being clawed with those furiously painful na

CHAPTER 8: PATCHING UP
Kai’s POVThe doctor managed to squeeze out the last remnants of the poison but they said that Ty had done a good job of instantly squeezing out all the poison and had done it thoroughly even without the use of medical instruments.Guess they don’t know that I bore the brunt of pain when he flung me on those fucking sharp rocks. They further appraised him saying that if he had not acted instantly, I would have died by the insanely large amount of Wolfsbane in my system. Those blood sucking rogues. Grrrrr. I am glad Ty gave them the hardest time ever. They bloody well deserved it.After patching me up and cleaning me, the doctor discharged me after giving me a set of clothes but as soon as I stepped out of the room, I was met with a very fuming Vampire King who happened to be my Dad.I tried wriggle out from his side but he caught me by my collar and effortlessly picked me up and took me outside hanging in the air as if I was a kid.“Dad ! This is so embarrassing. Please put me down,”

CHAPTER 9: MEETING THE PARENTS
Kai’s POVTy took me back to his home and landed in his backyard gracefully.I could smell Jax inside and soon enough he showed up himself in the backyard and his eyes widened with what he saw.Yup that’s my gorgeous dragon mate and I am on his back. Sounds dirty but I don’t mind.“Ty ! Is that you ? Whoa man, your dragon is AWESOME !!” Jax excitedly rushed towards Ty and ran his hands over him as if touching a sexy, brand new car model.“What the fuck, Jax ! Keep your filthy hands off my mate,” I ranted at him.“Oh hey Kai ! Didn’t notice you up there, small man. I don’t give a fuck so suck it up,” he answered back and to piss me off further, he flung himself on Ty’s dragon form and hugged his neck.I completely lost it when he licked Ty’s neck like an ice cream from the bottom to the top and the dragon moaned. Moaned ?! Do you hear me ? He fucking moaned. He was hell not supposed to do that and Jax smirked when he saw my invisible horns grow out of my head and invisible smoke releas

CHAPTER 10: GRILLING THE MATES
Ty’s POV“What are we supposed to do, Mom ?” Kai asked when we entered the kitchen.“First of all, you are not supposed to mess up the kitchen and no burning the house, Ty,” Alpha Stone, I mean mom said and what is up with everyone telling me not to burn their houses. It was her kids’ fault too !“Sure Mom,” I forcefully murmured with half a mind to let my dragon lose and spice up things but then I decided against it after looking at Mom’s face as if she would eat me up for even thinking such a thing.“Secondly, food for guests should not be spiked and no, your dads do not come in the guest list so do whatever you want to do with them but you guys will be on your own if they get mad at you. Lastly, have fun,” she winked and walked out.Her poor mates always faced the brunt of the tricks of the sextuplets and till date they couldn’t figure out how come their wolves didn’t sense anything fishy. As soon as she went out, Alpha Zarek and Alpha Valen walked in.“Dad !”“Daddy !”“What a sur
