I would never forget the day my life turned upside down. The exact moment where everything changed and all that I was used to became something that I should leave behind. He gave me no choice. It was a matter of life and death.

My journey began crumbling when my best friend, Vilka bit my neck.

Vilka and I started hanging out during our early college years. I always knew she was hiding something from me, but I never expected it to be that wild. I was an ordinary human who believed that werewolves were just plain fiction not until Vilka showed her true self and she transformed me into becoming one.

I could still remember the manly voice that stopped Vilka from draining my blood. My visions were blurry; I almost fell to the floor but firm arms caught my waist. I couldn't even open my eyes while catching my breath but their conversation was playing clearly on my mind.

"What have you done, Vilka? What the hell have you done?!" The man groaned as he tightened his grip on my waist.

"I don't know. Oh my God, Kira... I'm so sorry! What have I done?! Shit, I'm so sorry, Kira." Vilka's voice was panicking, it was like she was about to cry. I couldn't see her clearly.

"Vilka! What the fuck is going on with you?! You almost killed her!" The man carried me until my back touched the soft bed.

"Fenris, I promise you... I don't know what's going on... I--- I lost my control! I can't control my transformation! I don't know what the fuck is wrong with me that's why I asked you to come over! Oh God... please I'm really sorry, Kira..."

Fenris was his name. Fenris...

"Fuck!" Fenris groaned. "This can't be happening. You know what will happen if we bite someone!"

"I know, but I don't know why I bit her. I have no intentions to! I'm really sorry..."

"Shit, we need to fix this," Fenris hissed. "I'll take responsibility for this."

The following voices became blurry. I could only hear the echoing voice of Vilka saying sorry until I lost my consciousness.

Then I woke up having no clue at all, wishing that what I witnessed was all just a dream. But then as my eyes were slowly clearing their vision, I realized there was a man sitting beside me.

Our eyes met as my chest flinched. His perfectly crafted jaw clenched as his thick brows slightly crossed. He stroked his messy hair, revealing the firmness of his biceps.  He was hot yet his dark brown eyes made him look intimidating.

I gulped. "W-what happened? W-who are you?" I slightly moved my body away from where he was.

"Can't your memory recall the incidents?"

My brows crossed. I held my neck. I sighed in relief when I felt no wounds or something.

"It's not a dream if that's what you think." He shrugged.

"What do you mean it's not a dream?" I massaged my neck, making sure that I wasn't really wounded.

His thick brows crossed. He looks annoyed. I couldn't take my eyes off him though. He was a totally gorgeous man. It was rare for me to see a man this beautiful.

My lips parted when I realized he was the man in the picture, Vilka showed me years ago. He was also in the picture frame hanging on the wall in their hallway.

"You are Vilka's brother?"

Vilka told me stories about him. She said his brother was gentle and sweet but it was the opposite of what I was seeing. He looked so serious, not someone that could be sweeter than chocolates.

"Fenris Blevine. Your name is?"

"I'm Kira." I offered my hand. "Kira Goldberg."

"I see. You're the best friend."

My lips thinned, still processing everything. His face was damn right unique. It was unique in a way that he could get any women's attention at any second he wants. In a way, people would probably take a second look if he passed by them. His broad shoulders made him more appealing and attractive. He was wearing a long-sleeve polo shirt yet I could still figure out how masculine he was.

I held my neck again. "What do you mean it's not a dream?" I recalled what happened yet I was still hoping it was just a nightmare to remember.

He puffed a breath as he stood. He didn't utter a word but he gestured me his hand to follow him. We went on the elevator. Their mansion was big, one of the reasons why I assumed Vilka has a secret. She was living here alone before I moved in.

My heart started thudding with the silence surrounding the elevator.

"Where are we going?" I asked right before the elevator opened.

He just glanced at me and motioned me to follow him again until we reached the entertainment room. He turned the bookshelf around, revealing a black door. My lips parted. I didn't know they have a secret door. He typed something on the keypad locker near the doorknob then it automatically opened, revealing a stair downwards; an underground.

My jaw dropped. I live here for almost a year and I didn't even realize they have an underground. I glanced at Fenris but I zipped my lips when I saw how serious his face was. It was like he wanted to punch me or something. Vilka said he was gentle. I doubt that now.

I watched him walk downstairs.

He stopped in the middle of the stair and looked up at me. "Do you wanna know what's going on or nah?"

I gathered my senses and puffed a loud breath before following his steps downstairs. My eyes widened when we reached the wide, big underground and my jaw dropped when I saw a huge cage in the corner with thick steel bars. It was like a giant's white cage and there was a huge, brown dog inside, bigger than the usual dogs. It looked like a Siberian husky but bigger, as in bigger... like a monster, no! more on like a freaking werewolf!

I stepped background as the dog howled so loud.

"It is not a dream, Kira," Fenris spoke while staring at the humongous dog whose saliva was dripping on his fangs. The dog tried breaking the steel bar, acting so aggressive as if it was mad to see us. My heart was racing fast as I gathered my thoughts while staring at the dog's golden-yellow eyes.

I held my neck again. It wasn't really wounded though. I looked around and saw Vilka's ripped clothes on the floor. I stepped a little background. I have enough knowledge about werewolves and I was pretty sure indeed I was looking at an actual real werewolf.

Vilka is a werewolf?

My knees trembled as I covered my parted lips. I raised my chin to look at Fenris' eyes. My heart thundered when his dark brown eyes turned into glowing blue.

"Yes, Kira, that's right." He smirked. "You've been living with a werewolf the whole time."

With open-mouthed, I stared at Fenris, hoping to hear from him that he was just joking but he didn't utter more words. He just stared back at me while my heartbeat was punching my chest.

I blinked multiple times, processing what I just discovered. I had been fond of werewolf books for the past years. I have little knowledge about them although I didn't expect they really do exist. I considered the possibility but I gave myself a one per cent probability that werewolves do exist.

It was impossible. Up until now, no videos and evidence could prove werewolves were real. Maybe I was still in a dream.

"I-is this real life?" I softly pinched myself and slightly slapped my cheeks. "Am I in the other dimension? Goodness, gracious!"

"This is real life, Kira. Open your mind. Werewolves are real and you will soon turn into one."

"What?!" My eyes widened. "What do you mean I will turn into one?" I laughed as I shook my head. "You're kidding, aren't you?"

I flinched when Vilka in wolf form howled again. I squeezed my eyes close, still processing things.

"Oh no, no, no." I shook my head repeatedly. I liked werewolf stories but that doesn't mean I wanted to be one. I had no idea how to live like a werewolf.

"Yes, Kira. I know the news is overwhelming but here we are." He ran his hand through his hair. "Fuck. This shouldn't be happening in the first place; shit!" Annoyance was everywhere on his face.

"I'm going to be a werewolf?" I really couldn't load it on my mind.

He glared at me. "How long are you gonna process things huh? Yes! You're gonna be a werewolf and it's not something to be amazed about. All packs are not allowed to turn humans into werewolf not unless it is their mate. In your case, my sister bit you so I have no other choice but to take responsibility." He puffed a breath. "You're gonna be my mate." He rolled his eyes, looking like he wanted to vomit when he said that.

I swallowed deeply after seeing some backpacks and winter clothes that they had prepared for us. My mind was roaring everywhere, and I couldn't even sink in the information Guardian Leo was saying to me.My chest was thudding so loud, and all I could think of was I wasn't ready. I didn't expect everything to happen this quick. We rode horses to travel the cold land, and I couldn't stop glancing at Fenris every time I would think of backing up. I sighed deeply and tried gathering courage from I didn't even know where I could actually get one. Perhaps, the look of Fenris reassuring me was enough. We arrived at the strange mountain ranges, and from there, we teleported to the icy plateau on top of the hill. My hands were trembling under my gloves. Fenris held me while we were looking around the place, examining the surroundings."I don't understand," I muttered. "I can't see anything but icy mountains. Where could be the location of Darkesta's territory?"I hugged myself when the strong

What happened that night was still hunting me to this day — it had been two weeks and up until now, we were still thinking of the purpose of why Darkesta's little dogs suddenly attacked us."Claude is dead."When Fenris brought me that news, I was stunned. I thought I would be happy to hear those words but then again, I remembered he was once my friend. Even though it wasn't really for him, it was real for me and Lilien."They decided to kill him after he almost successfully transformed himself into his wolf form," he added.I sipped on my cup of coffee while my heart was still feeling unsafe. Darkesta was not only the devil, he was intelligent and whatever he was plotting against us could be the real end of our kind. I was just so frightened by that thought."What about Vilka? Do you believe her?" I asked before sipping on my coffee again.Vilka explained to us why she suddenly disappeared from the mansion a minute after our soldiers had traced foot tracks of Dark Summoners. She said

My jaw tightened as my claws gripped tighter on the ground. I stepped back, lowering my body while gazing at the three creepy humanoid wolves. They were standing on their two legs, and it made them look more monstrous. I prepared myself for a possible attack."Calm down!" The humanoid wolves were almost laughing in my ears. I didn't know they could talk to us through the mind link. "You seem to be too threatened to us. Don't make it so obvious, I suggest." The humanoid wolf in the middle kept blubbering, sounding so boastful.I glared at them deeper as I hissed. Fenris was looking much more eager. I could even hear his blood boiling so hard.Fenris howled. "What do you want from us?!" He also spoke through mind-link. The humanoid wolf on the left side chuckled like a playful yet annoying child. "You know what we want. "We will never surrender to your greedy master, you asshole!" Fenris fired back while he was scratching his pointed claws on the ground with his sharp teeth showing.

My heart thundered as Fenris' eyes and mine met. "Stay here," he commanded."What? No—" He got out of the room without letting me finish my words. I gulped before I rushed to follow him downstairs. Noises were coming from outside the mansion and when we finally exited the house, I saw some soldiers talking and discussing some things. In contrast, others were spread around the huge house, they were anticipating something, and my heart was thudding continuously for what could be it."What the hell is going on?!" Fenris exclaimed, and finally, he caught the soldiers' attention."We saw tracks of Dark Summoners leading to this place—""I know, but did you see them? How the hell did they get here without anyone sensing them?"Strange. Even I didn't sense the unwelcomed scent of humanoid wolves. "Alpha Fenris, I checked Vilka in her room, but she isn't there." A maid approached him."What?! What does she have to do with any of this? Are you sure she didn't sleep in her own house?"The mai

I swallowed deeply, convincing myself they were nothing but friends just like me and Nazarus — come on!"Yes, my cousins are regaining their strengths, thankfully."I cleared my throat before I stood properly and composed myself. My elbows hit some leaves, and I immediately noticed how quickly their eyes turned into me. "Oh, Kira!" Atasha chuckled awkwardly. "My cousins would want to give you and your mother this." She handed me two necklaces with a fang pendant."Really?" I still couldn't figure out how to interact with her. I never wanted to be fake or plastic or whatever they call it. "Yes, they've been planning to come here, but they are still regenerating their strengths — maybe next week they could thank you personally.""Oh, that's nice." I grabbed the necklaces from her soft hand. "Tell your cousins not to worry, and we appreciate their gifts and their gratitude." I glanced at Fenris, and he slightly smiled at me. My lips just thinned.I wanted to ask what they were talking

  • Temptations of an Alpha   Chapter 119

We arrived in the woods right on time while the Sun was about to rise. Good thing, the soldiers arrived earlier than us. They seemed responsible and dedicated to their tasks. We stayed near the river for a couple of hours. Fenris had been discussing something with the soldiers. They were plotting a plan while I was on the lookout for the busy group. Surprisingly, no Dark Summoners attempted to attack us. I was quite anticipating the action now, but perhaps it really was better for them not to attack or anything. The damage they could cause was too much, for sure.Since we saw no sign of attack, Fenris and I decided to go back to the mansion. He instructed the leader to inform us once anything unfortunate occurred. While we walked our way back to our house, the soldiers stayed in the woods as it was one of their duty — to guard and observe the forest. The next day was a really bad day for me. I work up without Fenris on my side. Since my body was so heavy and even my eyes, I didn't no
