Blair guided me gently to the couch, her hand warm on the small of my back. I didn’t say anything as I dropped onto the cushions, feeling them sigh beneath me. She sat beside me in silence. Not crowding me, just… there. And that, somehow, made the ache in my chest a little more bearable.
