"I saved you, and now you have to repay me." He bent down, stroking my cheek in slow motion, his face mere inches from mine. It was so damn close that I could feel his warm breath brushing against my flesh. "Repay you? H-how?" I managed to breathe out. "Marry me," Luxian's hand gently brushed her chin. His eyes locked into mine with a softness I didn't expect as he pushed back a few strands behind my ear. "And take this damned curse away from me...." he said firmly. *** Things can't seem to get any worse for Summer, branded as a lunatic, barren, and stabbed in the back by her husband, Rhys Glomarian, and stepsister, Virginia Paraguz. She loses it all in one day. *** It was Rhys' birthday, and he announced to everyone that Virginia was his fated mate and was expecting Rhys' pups. Three years of a nightmare marriage was enough for her. Summer decided to rescue herself from that hellhole, but her pleas fell on deaf ears. None of the guests that night were moved to save her despite her disheveled and scarred condition. They even looked at her with disgust and mockery. But just when she was beginning to lose hope, an unexpected savior appeared – a cursed Alpha, dreaded by all for his ruthlessness. Still, he is the wealthiest and the most powerful of all, Alpha Luxian Alderon. That night, he arrived to rescue Summer from Rhys' grasp and claim her as his fate mate. But her joy in escaping Rhys is cut short when she learns that Luxian comes with a deadly curse for anyone who becomes his mate.

"Oh, come on, Summer, stay put! We can't have you showing yourself like this to our guests," Rhys urged, frustration creeping into his tone.
"Rhys, it's your big birthday party tonight!" I pleaded, trying to reason with him.
"Are you incapable of understanding a simple request, huh?" he grumbled, his tone firm.
"Do you want another torture? Or do you want me to lock you in the basement again?" Rhys smirked, sending cold chills down my spine.
I shook my head hard. My body was already exhausted from all the torture I'd endured over the past two days.
"I'm your husband. My word is the law, Summer!"
"But…I have the right to be there…" I protested weakly.
"Say that again!" Rhys screamed. He tugged my hair roughly, making me wince in pain.
"Listen here, you bitch..." he whispered threateningly in my ear.
"I can't have my guests, especially all the Alpha's pack leaders, seeing you."
"You're my disgrace. A worthless barren wife!"
"And because of you, I didn't get crowned again this year! It's all your fault!"
"Rhys, there's still hope. The doc said that I-"
"Shut the fuck up, Summer!"
"Or else you'll regret it!" Rhys squeezed my chin so tightly that my jaw throbbed with pain.
"Rhys, darling, we should start getting ready," Luna Jocelyn, Rhys' mother, interjected. She watched the scene unfold with a cold, contemptuous smile.
"Hold on, Mom..." Rhys released me, shoving me hard onto the cool granite floor below.
"Today's your special day," Luna Jocelyn reassured her son with a pat on his shoulder, her eyes full of disdain as she glanced down at me.
"Don't let your mood be ruined because of this stupid wench," Luna Jocelyn smiled warmly at her son as she wiped Rhys' sweat from his forehead.
"Mom..."
"Rhys, we don't want to be late for the party starting in half an hour, right?" Luna Jocelyn snapped.
"Okay, Mom… sorry, can you help me give her some medicine? Her wolf is weak right now, and she won't be able to cure herself," Rhys said and walked out of the room at a brisk pace, without looking or feeling sorry for me at all.
"Don't worry, darling. I will take care of this bitch," Luna Jocelyn said, turning towards me with a grin.
I lay on the floor now, hands bound, face bruised, and back bleeding. Luna Jocelyn walked over to me, then took out a small bottle from the pocket of her fur coat.
She chuckled, "Drink this; Rhys doesn't want you dead yet."
"I will not be able to take it if you do not untie me, Luna," I responded.
"I'll untie you if you promise to behave and not cause any trouble, got it?" Luna Jocelyn said, looking down at my battered face.
I nodded silently, unable to speak with screams trapped in my throat.
"Honestly, I regret letting my late husband pair my precious son with a shameless woman like you. I think Rhys will have to get rid of you sooner or later," she chuckled as she untied me before leaving the room.
"Servant! Lock the room, and don't let her out!" Luna Jocelyn ordered before departing, leaving me alone in my pain.
The echoes of Luna Jocelyn's heels reverberated in my ears as I lay on the cold floor. Tears streamed down my face as I slowly rose, made my way to the bed, enduring the ache from Rhys' punishment all over my body.

I'm Summer Yversen, the first daughter of the late Beta Alfonzo from his first wife. My mother passed away right after I was born. Not long after that, my dad met his second mate and they married.
Life's been tough for me ever since, with my stepmom and stepsisters moving in. My dad went all cold towards me. He treated me like a total outsider and put his new family first.
One day on the eve of my eighteenth birthday, the Rogues attacked the pack while Alpha Reuben was away. They struggled to defeat them, the situation was critical, so my dad instructed the pack members to go to the neighbor pack. But instead of saving me first, my dad prioritized Cornelia and Virgie.
He forbade me to join and asked me to hide in the basement, telling me he would be back soon to pick me up.
I was so scared, cried, and begged my dad to take me with my stepmother and stepsister, but Cornelia suddenly groaned complaining that her head hurt and pretended to faint.
So once again, my dad no longer heard my pleas and left me alone in the house.
But, my dad never came back for me.
Because on that day, my dad was killed for the sake of saving Rhys Glomarian, Alpha Reuben's only son. After my dad's demise, Alpha Reuben betrothed me to Rhys as a promise he made to his late Beta.
A year later, Rhys finished up at the Wolf Military Academy, and we got married. Sadly, just four months after we tied the knot, Alpha Reuben died under mysterious circumstances. Since then, the Alpha throne in the Fang Forest Pack has been vacant since the rules say only an Alpha with an heir can be throned.

"Miss Yversen." A soft tap on the balcony door made me jump.
"I'm here, just like you asked."
"Leila? You have the key?" I whispered, crawling toward the glass.
"Yeah."
"The party's already started," she said quietly.
"Open it. Now. I need to get down there." My voice was stronger than I felt. "Those guests need to see what their precious Alpha-wannabe really is."
Summer's POV My head felt like someone had used it as a drum all night. I blinked a few times, trying to piece together what happened after Luxian carried me to the bedroom. Everything after that was a complete blank.I tried to sit up and immediately regretted it. Every muscle in my body ached like I'd run a marathon. That's when I noticed something was off.My heart started pounding as I peeked under the covers. No wedding dress. No underwear. Nothing."Oh God, no way," I whispered, my cheeks burning. "Did I actually sleep with Luxian?"I slowly turned my head to the side. There he was—lying on his back, completely peaceful. His face looked so calm, almost innocent, which was totally unfair considering how good-looking he was even while sleeping. He was shirtless, wearing only boxers, his chest rising and falling steadily.I bit my lip, trying desperately to remember what happened last night. All I could recall was Luxian carrying me here, and then... nothing. He must have sensed m
Luxian’s POVThe wedding celebration was over, the pack’s officials had finally dispersed, and the grand hall was quieting down. I caught sight of Summer slipping away toward the bar. I knew she was running from something—maybe from me, maybe from herself. I could feel it in the way her shoulders slumped, the way she moved like she was trying to outrun her own thoughts. When I found her at the bar, she was already swaying, her cheeks flushed from the liquor. She was ordering drinks strong enough to knock out a wolf twice her size, and it was clear she was trying to drown something deep inside. I wanted to leave her to it, to let her have her space, but the sight of her like that—vulnerable, reckless—stirred something in me I couldn’t ignore.“You’re too drunk,” I said, snatching the snifter from her hand before she could down another.“One more shot!” she pleaded, her voice thick with defiance and liquor.“No,” I snapped, sharper than I meant to. She was testing my patience, and I wa
Summer's POV I looked at myself in the mirror, trying to muster a smile but only managing a creepy grin instead."You look stunning, Miss Yversen," Riri said, beaming at me."Thanks..." I replied, keeping it short."Don't sweat it, everything's gonna be fine.""Fingers crossed," I sighed. But I had to admit, I looked much better now, thanks to Riri, the makeup artist hired by Luxian. She perfectly covered up my thin cheeks and disheveled look.I glanced at my reflection. The white wedding gown, worn by all of Alpha Luxian's previous brides, clung loosely to my bony frame. It did me no favors, hanging like a sack around my bust and hips. Clearly, it had never been tailored for me."How many times has Alpha Luxian been married, Riri?""You're the fifth."I swallowed hard; just thinking about it already made me uncomfortable."You are Alpha Luxian's last hope..." Riri, the makeup artist, whispered."Yeah, I know," I replied, trying to look calm even though my mind was rumbling."You jus
Summer's POV I woke up with a start from another nightmare, the same one that had haunted me for years, every single day. A nightmare where I woke up to find my father's blood-covered dead body."Where am I?" I got out of bed, looked around, and was very sure I wasn't in Rhys's place. The last thing I could recall was that strikingly handsome man with a scarred forehead, gray eyes, and a delightful mess of caramelized brown hair. He had promised to save me, and everything had faded to darkness.I headed to the door, trying to figure out how to get out of the room and find someone to tell me where I was. But I stopped when I saw my reflection in the mirror. Last night, I'd been wearing a white dress covered in blood, but now I was in a red silk nightgown. Someone must have redressed me, I thought. For a brief moment, I scrutinized my face and felt relieved to find all the bruises had totally gone. Since for the past two days, Rhys had made my face battered."Thanks, Moon Goddess," I
Alpha Luxian's POV "I need to stop them," I growled, my wolf raging inside me. "Your actions will be very risky, Alpha." Kian's voice cut through my rage. "I know." My eyes never left Summer as Luna Jocelyn hauled her off like a piece of trash."I beg you, Alpha, don't...." Kian kept pushing. "Please think about what the guests will think if you do this. Since this is strictly forbidden.""I don't give a damn anymore." The words slipped roughly. "You think I'll let them do that to her?""But Rhys hasn't rejected her yet, so you can't...""Then I'll make him."Kian's protests died in his throat. He knew that tone. I was done talking.I've known Summer was my mate all these years, since right after I lost my fourth.I’d held back, too afraid to draw her into my own cursed existence. But the truth was, leaving her with Rhys and his mother had doomed her to a far worse fate.***I followed them, staying in the shadows until Luna Jocelyn left Summer locked up like an animal. The guards
I knew now was the right time to end it all, to save myself from this damned hellhole. There was no point in staying in this one-sided marriage anymore. Three years of misery was more than enough."Use the rope. I'll take your place in the room," Leila said."Thank you so much, Leila." I immediately took the rope that Leila had prepared a few days earlier.I was the one who had asked for it, knowing Rhys would punish me after he found out I'd miscarried again. I climbed down and hobbled out, walking to the venue in my white dress with my bloody, open back showing.I dragged my feet toward the hall, down the dark path beside the pack's garden. The sound of echoing music, laughter, and glass clinking filled the air. I was sure all the Alphas, Betas, and other high-ranking wolves were there, and some of them must have recognized me—my dad had so many friends back in the day. I hoped that one of them would want to rescue me from this hell. After entering the hall from the unguarded side e
