Synopsis

“You are mine Bella, you have always been.” Ian said to me binding my hands tight behind my back. His hard breath beat my skin. Even a cold Alpha like him has his wild side. I gasped for freedom from his grip. I am his and he is mine. Our heavy heartbeats created a beautiful rhythm together. “You love me. You love only me.” He whispered to my ears. *** After a life threatening accident in the woods, Bella meets the cold and seemingly heartless Alpha of the silver city pack – Ian, who saves her life by transferring his life-force bead into her. Bella has to live in the pack and pretend to be Ian’s mate for a hundred days while she healed.

Chapter 1

Hi

 [Hi ]

Again, I looked from the side of my window. He rode pass on his skateboard. How perfect  he looks today, just like every other day. We could make a perfect couple if you think of it. I mean, I’m cool, pretty, and my dad says I have the most beautiful  eyes in the world. Yeah, I think we’d  make a perfect couple, that is, if only he knew I exist.

Dad called again. Breakfast was ready. I pulled down the curtains. It was a new day to stay indoors!

I joined Dad and Jared at the dining table. “A wonderful night huh?” Dad asked.

I nodded.

“She has been up for hours, staring at her window, waiting for that boy to skate pass. She does it like everyday. Didn’t you know? She has an entire album of his photos in a box.” The little squid said. I smiled shyly. Dad already knows I have a crush on Robinson. Practically, all the people who know I exist, know this. I blush at his name. This is me, at age 16.

Dad kissed me on my forehead.  He does that every time we eat. If mom were here, I bet she would do the same. A person like me usually never has much friends but, we get the best of them. Harley said she was going to come over tonight. I looked forward to it with excitement.

“How are you?” Dad asked. I smiled. I wasn’t fine at all. “I’m fine. I’m good.” I answered.

“She feels bad she can’t go to school like normal people. I over heard her crying about it to Harley yesterday.”

At this my eyes became teary. I tried my best to hold back the tears. “That’s nonsense. Besides we are not normal people.” I said. Dad could see my wet eyes. I hated how he pitied me. He threw a shrimp in his mouth and chewed it like a clown. Somehow, I always laugh when he does it.

I helped Jared with his shoes. “There you go. Now all the girls are yours.” I teased him. Dad laughed. I closed the door.

Up in my bedroom I am again. Another thing about a person like me, music is usually one of our best and closest friends. Of course I own a guitar and I was good with it. The next sunrise will be my birthday and that is good bye to sweet sixteen. I should be happy, I guess. Well, the truth is, I’m not. Everyday that passes reminds that death lurks closer and it takes away my joy. I am with my guitar and I am playing a song I wrote for my dying body.

I took my drugs as I have been told. It is for my own good. Even as painful as it gets sometimes, I still want to live.

“And then, he grabbed her from behind, his strong muscular arm across her neck. “You are mine and mine alone. You will offer yourself to me when I ask for you. You will love me.” He commanded. April tried to shrug off from his grip but the Alpha was too strong for her. He turned her around. “look at me in the eyes and tell me you don’t want me too. Tell me you don’t love what I do with your body.” He asked her, reaching up to her bosoms.”

“Bella.” Dad called. He was back. I closed the book and kept it back in my drawer. “Yes, come in.” I answered.

Dad came in. He smiled, and of course I reflected the smile. “A long day, huh? What were you doing?” he asked. He picked up my guitar. “You know? I used  to be the best string hitter back in the days. I was so extraordinary,  that everyone wanted to be around me all the time.” He bragged. “And that is exactly where you got the gift from.” We both said. He says this all the time.

“Where is Jared?” I asked.

“Oh, right! He’ll be spending the weekend at my mom’s.” He answered. “I’m sorry, I couldn’t  come back on time, work was just so piled up for me back at the office.” He said.

“It’s OK. I totally understand.  You have to work and… I get it.” I said. Dad stared at me again with that pity on his face. It made me madder and sadder. I snuffled up my running nose as I cried. Dad hugged me and patted my shoulders. “It’s OK.” He said.

“why me? What did I do to deserve this. I did nothing.” I sobbed.

My windows  were wide open now. The cool evening breeze was life replenishing. “He already passed.” Dad said.

“Yeah, I know.” I replied. “I mean… what? Who?” I asked. Dad chuckled. “you know who.” He said smiling. His glasses made him look so clumsy, but he was so cute. Sometimes, I wonder how he still doesn’t have a girlfriend, or even better, a new wife. He means the world to me. I hugged him again, and remained in his arms. “I love you dad. Thank you.” I said.

He sat on my bed and looked around. “So… you still have this crush on him?”  he asked.

I giggled shyly “crush? Wow!” I laughed. “I have no idea what you are talking about.”

Dad couldn’t help but laugh at that. I curled my hair behind my ear. “I am very positive you know exactly what I’m talking about.” He said. “how about this, instead of you playing at the train station , why not play somewhere closer. I think it’s better  plus, considering  the curfew.” He proposed.

“Hmm, how close are you talking about here?” I asked curiously, having a strong feeling, I might just know  what he was trying to say.

“You know, Robinson.  You could play close to him and… maybe you guys could…”

“It doesn’t work like that Dad.” I cut in, taking the photo album from him. I sighed.  “He doesn’t even know if I exist. There is nobody like Bella living close by,  taking silly photos  of him every morning in his skateboard  and evenings, or when he goes out for jogging or basket ball practice. Or when he flirts with other girls.” I said ending with a sad voice.

“Well, that’s too bad. Not for you. For him because, you are that girl no one should miss. You are so… beautiful.” Dad said.

That made me feel better. A smile blossomed on my face. “Thank you. You are the best papa.”

“The moon is up in the sky. It’s perfect timing.” He said. He picked up my guitar and threw it to me. “Go bless the night with your sweet voice.” He said and winked. “And make sure you come back before the curfew. I love you.”

I put a mint in my mouth. The world stood before me. My guitar in my hand and the big blue moon above me. Dad could be right. This could be a new page in my life.  What would it bring?
