Jasper sighed, pulling his phone away from his ear with frustration before he placed the device on the counter in defeat and took a seat on a stool by the kitchen bench. Tiredly, the man ran his hands over his face, an attempt to rid himself of the concern that clutched him.

His house seemed all too silent without her; the girl he had known for the span of a few days, the girl that remained such a mystery to him and left him begging for more.
