Bakoena Kingdom
Prince Tokelo
I was woken up by my ringing phone and that just upset me, who has the audacity to wake me up from by peaceful slumber? Who am I kidding anyway huh, I will never have a peaceful slumber from now on until Tsietsi is no more or until we reach some sort of agreement which I doubt will happen. Now back to my annoying phone, this person does not want to give up, I took it from my bedside table and checked who the caller was and its Tools. “Tools” am impatient to hear the news. “Boss” seriously! He still has time to greet.” What’s up man talk to me.” I asked, “I have the information you asked for.” Seriously must I keep asking this guy for him to tell me.” Get on with it already” he sighs “His clean boss, I have checked his company and his kingdom. Everything is clean and by the book.” Damn it! “Did you dig deep? I don’t want surprises.” I cannot have come backs or regrets when it comes to this.
“I didn’t just scratch the surface boss I dug deep and his all clean and nothing out of the ordinary. But we might have a problem.” This is what am talking about. “What is it?” I will use whatever I can get on this guy. “I have been listening to the recordings from the bug we planted at Tsetse’s crib, he and his father are planning on visiting your kingdom, they want to talk to your father regarding the marriage proposal of your princess. They say its about time they revisited the issue since it was put on hold.” Dear gods of Bakoena what shall I do now.
“That only means trouble for me Tools, let me call him and hear what he has to say.” I cut the call with Tools and dialled Tsietsi, he picked up after some time. “If it isn’t the prince of Bakoena, what can I do you for old friend?” did he have to emphasise the ‘old friend’ part? “Hey man, how are you doing?” he chuckled, the gods know I want to kill this guy just for his cockiness. “Don’t be fooled by the old friend park, we are not friends now tell me what you want.” Did I mention how I want this guy dead? “I just wanted to know if the princess of Moeyaneng has a suitor yet? I mean am asking because your kingdom is closer to hers and your father and hers have an alliance so you might know this information.” I hope he buys this and spill the beans because I can not stand being nice to this guy.
“ha ha ha, am sorry I didn’t mean to laugh but it’s funny because I was going to marry that girl but nah your sister is a better option, how is my future wife anyway?” the latter clenched his fists before answering. “She’s okay man now please answer my question” his stalling and I do not have time for this. “What? The old man wants grandchildren already?” now his pissing me off but I will hold it because I need information from him. “You have no idea; he says his getting old.” He chuckles “I feel for you man but to answer your question, that girl is has no suitors, yet you will be the first. Listen man I hope you remember our deal because we are going to your place this weekend.” Now that is what I want to hear. “I didn’t forget man, but you can’t go this weekend you have to give me time to sweet talk the old man first before you go there.” I held my breath because he might not agree. “Fine you only have two weeks to do what you have to after that we are going.” I sigh I relief “Not a problem” I cut the call.
Now all I have to do is find a way to deal with him before things get out of hand and what will work in my favour is the fact that he doesn’t know ghost he thinks I work for him, well everyone in our circle thinks I work for him since I always introduce myself as his friend and right hand man when I have to meet up to close a deal.
Everyone who knows of me, well of ghost fears him and the fact that they do not know who he is, well that’s another problem for them. I mean you can’t fight an enemy you don’t know, now can you? More especially a ghost. Enough about that I need a plan and fast. I got to my study and started working on a plan.
Tokelo thinks am a fool, not about the princess because I know his father is just like mine when it comes to marriage, all the kings that I know are the same when it comes to their successors. But he thinks he can delay the inevitable by stalling, I will marry his sister whether he likes it or not. His sister is very special and highly favoured. Well that is according to father and the chief priest, but I could not care less about that, all I care about is how beautiful she is, especially now that she is grown. I saw her in South Africa in waterfront when I went to meet my contact for business, but Tokelo thinks I do not know where she is. Fool! but I know she might have protection, I mean she cannot be in a foreign land with no protection, she is a princess after all and my princess.
The latter smiles. His father walks in and disturbs his thoughts. “What got my prince smiling alone?” he asked with a smile of his own. “Oh, nothing father just that business is doing very well at the moment and am content.” He answered keeping his smile. “Am glad my prince and am proud of you for taking such good care of business in my absence.” Said the king proud “My thanks father.” He liked being praise by his father. “I think we should postpone our visit to Bakoena since we have to be in Cape Town to supervise our merchandise going to Mexico this weekend.
We do not want any mistakes this is one of our biggest shipments and I want everything to go smoothly. “No!” he suddenly shouted “I mean no father you go to the Bakoena kingdom and I will take care of things in South Africa. In fact, am flying out this evening.” The king wasn’t convinced “Are you sure my prince?” he asked “Yes father and besides I want to come back and get the good news that the wedding date has been set with the princess.” He tried to convince his father. “Spoken like a true son of BaTlakwana, don’t worry I will take care of Lerumo just make sure the deal goes well. Take the private jet it’s not convenient to travel with large sums of money amongst a lot of people. Its not safe.” Said the king “That would be nice and convenient for us father.” He said content with how things are turning out.
“Good now go and make me proud.” Then he walked out and left. My father and I have a good father and son relationship but when it comes to business his ruthless. He can even kill me just to prove a point, I love my father but fear the ruthless businessman. Any way that does not matter, I will take care of this and see my princess in the process.
Cape TownMapulaAm so tired, this time of year Cape Town is too hot you feel like you are melting, not to mention when one is wearing the type of uniform I have to wear to school every day. But am lucky because its November and am writing my exams next week. All this will be done and am going straight home right after exams. Am not waiting for schools to close and besides being tired I miss home, my mother’s cooking and no she doesn’t cook everyday since there is a chef but when am around she cooks for me. She says she doesn’t get to take care of me enough and I miss the beauty of nature.Oh my home town is peaceful and not as busy as it is here. I just finished with writing for today and I walked out of the hall. When I got outs
Prince Tsietsi stood at that balcony looking at the princess running away. So, my princess is running away from me now, I wonder what she knows because I know they saw me and am sure they think I did not see them. If Tokelo told her to stay away from me then he has another thing coming, I might just kidnap her then go pay bride price to her people. That way they will not have a choice but to bless our union. It’s not like I will be doing something that has not been done before, this is the way of our forefathers and its about time she knows about me so that she stops wearing revealing clothing, going around showing people my assets
The princess was having a peaceful slumber when she dreamed about the people plotting against her and the king. She could tell that the people plotting against them were close to them however she could not tell who they were but their plans were evil. The dream changed and she saw her brother Lebo in some gun fight but what seemed strange was that he was fighting his friend the prince she met back in Cape Town. She was woken up by a knock on the door and she rolled out of bed and went to open the door. Her personal maiden was standing on the other side of the door with a smile on her face and she turned it then made way for her to get inside. “Greetings my princess” greeted the maiden “Greetings my dear Kgomotso” answered the princess rubbing the sleep of
The following day the princess was up before sunrise due to the fact that royals don’t enter the chief priest’s hut after sunrise, one has to wait for him to come to them if they come after sunrise. She went to the bathroom and did her morning hygiene routine, when she walked out her personal maiden was making the bed and she bow her head and greeted when she saw the princess.“Sunrise greetings my princess” the princess went to her dresser to lotion her body. “Greetings dear maiden, how are you this morning?” asked the princess while busy applying lotion on her body. “I well my princess my thanks for asking, I do hope that the princess is also doing well.” Asked the maiden looking at the princess. “Very well dear maiden.&rdq
BaTloung KingdomPrince ThabisoSo am told that am getting married in two years, apparently they are waiting for the princess to finish high school and also reach maturity. Am saying they say because I wasn’t involved in the decision making, not that I care anyway because I have a girlfriend but I can only take her as my second wife and that will only happen after three years of marriage with the princess.I know its unfair on my high school sweetheart Boitumelo but that is how things are done, I cant take a commoner as a first wife for her children cant
BaKoena KingdomMapulaLast week I was informed about my arranged marriage to prince Thabiso of BaTloung kingdom. Am okay with this, it’s something that I have been groomed for since the age of 9. I just didn’t think it will happen soon after I reach maturity. I hope he is a good man, yes I know that he wont love me the first day we meet but I hope we will be civilized with each other and make this marriage work.Mother says the key to a happy marriage is honesty and communication, she says without communication there is no trust. I hope the same wo
MapulaDays turned into weeks, weeks into months and am back at school in South Africa. It is now June and I just finished writing my midterm exams. Things have been going well on my side, the prince and I have been in contact since I left. He checks on me every day, which is what I prayed for, that we are at least civil with each other.Kwezi and I are going to the mall to spoil ourselves, we both just received our monthly allowances and she still doesn’t know that am a princess. I plan on telling her today, she’s been a good friend to me and always has my back so it’s only fair that she knows everything about me. We arrived at the mall and we went to
Prince TokeloIt has been a very busy three months for me, Lebo and I have been busy with clients and court nonstop for the past months. If am not in court am with a client and if am not with clients am busy at the warehouse sorting out a plan for Tsietsi and his father. Which needs a lot of attention, I mean one can not just act against the Romo king, he has Mexicans on his side and they are ruthless. So I have to have a solid plan before I act, our personal phones have been off for the past months because we don’t want to run a risk of being bugged and our conversations listened to. I have been out of the house before sunrise and returning after sunset. I have n
