Chapter 6: What Are You Hiding?

Napahilot na lamang si Asnawi sa kanyang sentido. He couldn't remain calm knowing something is not under his control. No, he isn't even aware what it is. 

'Why am I intrigued?' He asked himself. 

He tried his best not to think about it anymore, he closed his chinky eyes and face the direction of the driver. When he was still not satisfied, he looked at the busy streets of his city

Jerica was relieved. She was really bothered by the figure of her ex-husband. It was still ravishing! Sobrang gwapo, ngunit walanghiya. 

Napahawak naman si Jerica ulit sa kanyang puson. Hindi nya alam kung tama ba itong gagawin nya. She was facing the mirror, her reflection didn't change. Maganda at balingkinitan parin. Her baby bump is too early show-up. Mabuti rin iyon upang maitago nya pa ito mula sa dating asawa.

Mabilis nyang naayos ang mga dukumento para sa kanyang ina-aplayang trabaho. At nakapag-ayos narin narin sya ng kanyang sarili.

 

Naramdaman nya ang biglang pagkagutom. Maybe she was starving because it's already past noon at hindi pa sya kumakain. 

She decided to go to a restaurant to order food, it was better if she could order online but she also wants to go for a walk to wind down. 

"These days have been very stressful. Gusto kong magpahangin ngayon," she said while putting on her shoes. 

She breathed in and grabbed her purse, walking like a 5-year old happily enjoying the warm sun. 

She made it to the corners of the city where famous restaurants are near. She can smell the smoke of the barbecue fast-food restaurants and endulged its aroma. 

Suddenly, she was happy and the negative thoughts that preceded her mind lately were erased temporarily.

Asnawi was busy looking at the corners of the streets by his car window when he saw a familiar figure. The tall, slender, and white complexion along with the firm cheeks and catchy fox-eyed woman right down the street was indeed someone whom he loved for the past five years. 

She was looking vibrant with her warm smile applauded by the sunshine. 

"Stop," he said firmly. 

The driver managed to stop the car just in time. 

Nagising naman ang tulog na si Jasmine at tumingin ito sa paligid. 

"Bring her home." Madiin na utos ni Asnawi sa driver. 

"Awi, no, sama ako." Pag-tutol ni Jasmine dito. 

"I have a business meeting here. I don't want you to interrupt. This is a big client." 

Walang nagawa si Jasmine kundo sundin si Asnawi at magmaktol na parang batang pinagdamutan ng candy.

Asnawi ignored her and closed the car door.

Asnawi left and crossed the street immediately catching up with the woman he's still inlove with.

Jerica decided to go to a steak restaurant, as soon as she pulled the door open someone snatched her hand and grabbed it.

With that touch, that smell, and that aura, Jerica was sure who was holding her. 

She gulped, why do their paths always cross? Why now when they are already separated?

She didn't even looked at the man behind her.

"Can you let go of me?" Grabbing her hand back and resisted the touch, Jerica immediately went inside the restaurant assuming he wouldn't follow her. 

She sat near the window, but to her surprise someone sat down right infront of her. It was him!

Sobrang gulat nya dahil nakatingin lamang sa kanya ang lalake at tila ito'y naiinis sa ginagawang pag-iwas nya. 

"Ano pa bang kailangan mo? Aren't we over?" Inis na singhal ng babae.

"Oh no, we aren't Ms. Lee." His words were nerve-wrecking. Umiigting ang panga neto. 

He was looking at her face down to her neck.

He looked closely to Jerica and aimed his looks on her lips. This made Jerica tremble silently.  

Ngunit imbis nana matakot ay ikina-inis ito ni Jerica. 

"Wag mo'kong gina-gago Asnawi. I already gave you your freedom, so please give me mine," she said clutching her fist under the table. 

"I'll give you that only if you answer my question," sabi nito na animoy nakikipag-negosasyon.

"Spill it." Jerica said, "nang matapos na'to!"

With his eyebrows slightly raised he straightened his shoulder and leaned on the chair. He clasped his hands and lean back to Jerica with almost three inches apart from her face. 

"What are you hiding?"
