My toes curled so hard that they cramped. He thrust up so hard and fast that all I could do was shake my head weakly.

“You’re not thinking of cumming without me, are you darling?” he whispered, knowing full well that I was out of it. He kept jack-hammering like a man possessed, grabbing my hips firmly.

I smiled, figuring that it was time to turn up the heat even more. Make him eat his words.

I added hip rotations to my movements and using my Kegel muscles, I began to gently massage Javier’s cock. He grunted at this and grabbed me harder. His cock then felt like it exploded as countless jets of cream shot out, drowning my cunt and actually overflowing it.

Hitting the floor, we both passed out with his cock slipping out and cum flooding out of my pussy onto Javier and the floor. I twitched nonstop with the aftermath of my own orgasm, enjoying the pleasure that coursed through me.

“Round three?” Javier murmured against my lips, panting.

Hell no!

I attempted to respond, but I had been reduced to a semi-comatose pile of skin and bone. He chuckled, seeing the state I was in.

Looking at my reflection, I almost laughed out loud. To say I was a wreck was a serious understatement. My hair was a tangled mess, both tits were hanging out of my top, I had red marks on my neck, and my legs and pussy were sticky with our combined juices. As gently as he could, he untangled himself from me, picking me up off the floor. He carried me to the bed and laid me down gently so I could sleep comfortably.

My eyes closed, slowly succumbing to my body’s tiredness. I woke up moments later to see him dressing up for work. Work? A frown greased my forehead.

“Babe? Where are you going?” I wondered if he had forgotten what today was.

“I’m sorry but something urgent came up at work. I have to be there.” I remained unmoving, staring at him with slight displeasure. Today was supposed to be our special day. Our anniversary!

“But you know…”

“I know, and I’m sorry babe. I'll be back before you can even say Jack…”

“Jack.” I deadpanned.

He chuckled, grabbing my face and kissing me on the lips. “I promise. I’ll make it up to you. Just take care okay. I love you.”

“Okay.” I nodded, kissing him. “I love you too.”

When he left, I laid back down, sighing. I was the luckiest woman alive. To be loved like this… cherished not only by my husband, but by the entire pack who awaited me as their Luna. How could my life be more perfect?

I suddenly felt emotional as memories of the past years crashed into me.

Four years of childlessness, two miscarriages, despair, and prayers, and finally our prayers were answered. I looked down at my now well rounded stomach and smiled.

It has been getting harder to perform my wifely duties since I got to the third trimester. After refusing a help all these years, I think I needed one.

My phone’s ringing interrupted my thoughts.

I almost squealed in excitement as the name of my best friend popped up.

“Hello girlie. How are you doing?”

Hearing her voice brought a smile to my face and despite my tiredness, I responded as eagerly as I could. “I’m doing great.”

“Of course, you’re doing great after receiving the fuck of your life. Huh?” She wiggled her brows. I giggled, turning red at her statement. Riley had always had a foul tongue since we were kids and never held back on saying things.

“Oh Shut up!”

She laughed, knowing that she had me embarrassed. “So when is the princess charming going to feed my godson. It's 10am already. Youv’e been fed. It’s time to feed him.”

I groaned at the thought of having to get out of bed to prepare breakfast. These days my body has been getting heavier and I have no strength in the mornings.

“Actually, I’m thinking of hiring help.”

“What?!” Her mouth was open in a comical O that made me want to combust. I know. It was weird. Nine months ago, I would absolutely kick against the idea. I did the chores myself. Even when I was princess in my Fatherland, I disliked being served.

“I know,” I sighed, pushing myself up carefully against the pillows. “But things are different now. I can barely see my feet anymore, Riley. And Javier…”

“What about Mr. Overprotective Alpha?”

I smiled softly. “He worries about everything. If I so much as bend down too quickly, he looks like he’s about to call the entire medical wing.”

“As he should,” Riley snorted. “You’re carrying the future heir of Darkclaw. And my godson, might I add.”

My fingers brushed over my stomach again. A small kick answered me, and my heart melted. “I just don’t want to stress him. He’s already been… distant.”

There was a pause on the other end. “Distant how?”

I hesitated. “He’s been working late. Coming home tired. Sometimes he stares at nothing like something’s eating at him.” I swallowed. “And he doesn’t tell me.”

“That man worships you, Alice.”

“I know.” I did know. I felt it in the way he touched me, the way he looked at me like I was the only thing anchoring him to this world. “But he doesn’t trust easily. Not with outsiders. If I tell him I’m hiring someone, he’ll background-check her entire bloodline.”

Riley laughed. “He probably will.”

“So I thought… I’ll just get someone part-time. A human should be less threatening.”

“You’re keeping it from him?” she asked carefully.

“Just until I know she’s reliable. I don’t want to worry him unnecessarily.”

“Hmm.” Riley’s tone shifted, thoughtful. “Alright. But be careful. You’re not just Luna anymore. You’re a mother.”

“I know.”

We fell into a comfortable silence before she spoke again, teasing. “I still can’t believe you. The only Luna without ladies-in-waiting. No maids, no assistants. If Javier wasn’t firm about guards, you’d probably be walking around unprotected.”

I huffed. “I can protect myself.”

“I know you can, Your Highness,” she sang mockingly.

“Stop calling me that.”

“You’ll always be a princess to me.”

My chest tightened slightly.

“Riley,” I said softly, lowering my voice. “Don’t mention that when you visit.”

“You think I would?”

“I just…” I exhaled. “It’s complicated.”

“I know.”

My parents had never wanted me with Javier. He was an Alpha from another dominant line. Too powerful, too proud, and too unpredictable.

And yet, I chose him.

“Anyway,” she brightened. “If you’re hiring someone, I actually know a girl looking for work. A human who is quite efficient.”

My brows lifted. “You do?”

“Yes. Val. Val Smith. She’s discreet.”

The name settled strangely in my chest, though I couldn’t place why. “If you trust her…”

“I do.”

“Alright. Send her over this afternoon.”

“You’re really doing this,” Riley teased again.

“I am.”

We chatted a little longer, laughter soft and easy, before I heard movement outside my door. My wolf stirred instinctively.

“Riley,” I whispered quickly. “I have to go.”

“Already?”

“Just… don’t tell anyone we spoke. Not even casually. If anyone asks, we haven’t talked in weeks.”

“Is something wrong?” she asked, concerned.

“No. I just… it’s safer. For both of us.”

There was a beat of understanding. “Alright. We didn’t speak.”

“Thank you.”

“And Alice?”

“Yes?”

“Be happy. Don’t let ghosts steal that from you.”

“I won’t,” I promised, though I wasn’t sure who the ghosts were meant to be.

I hung up and walked to the door to check but no one was there. Is sighed and entered the shower. After almost two hours later, I felt footsteps outside the door.

Javier stepped in, still dressed in the black suit. I raised my brow in question as to why he came back so early. His eyes landed on me and softened.

“There you are,” he murmured, crossing the room in long strides.

My heart did its usual flip.

He sat beside me on the bed, one large hand cradling my stomach instinctively. “How are my two favorite people?”

“We’re good,” I smiled. “Your son just kicked.”

He smirked. “That’s my boy.”

But beneath the warmth, there was something else.

“You’re not taking off the suit,” I observed carefully.

His jaw tightened for a fraction of a second before he smoothed it away. “Something urgent came up at the company.”

“Again?”

His hand moved to my cheek. “I know. I hate leaving you.”

“Then don’t.”

It came out softer than I intended.

His thumb brushed under my eye. “Alice… I need to handle this. Just a meeting. I’ll be back before dinner.”

“You promise?”

He leaned down, kissing me slowly, deeply. The kind of kiss that reassured and claimed all at once. “I promise.”

I searched his eyes. “You’ve been unhappy.”

“I’m not unhappy.” His smile was gentle but didn’t reach all the way. “Just… cleaning up a mess.”

“What mess?”

“I fired my assistant this morning.”

My brows shot up. “What?”

“Fraud and embezzlement. She thought I wouldn’t notice small discrepancies.” His expression hardened briefly. “She was wrong.”

“And now?”

“I hired someone new…a human. She’ll need guidance, but she seems capable.”

“A human?” I tilted my head. “That’s unlike you.”

“She won’t threaten anyone.” His tone was light, but there was meaning underneath. “And she’ll work closely with finance. I need someone I can mold.”

“Be patient with her,” I said gently. “Humans scare easily in our world.”

His lips curved faintly. “You’re too kind.”

“I’m your Luna. I have to balance you.”

“Rest today. Don’t overexert yourself. If you need anything, call the guards,” he said chuckling, and kissing my forehead.

“I might hire a part-time maid,” I said casually, watching his reaction.

His body stilled.

“For what?”

“For the heavy lifting. Just until after the baby.”

“Why didn’t you tell me sooner?” he asked, eyes searching mine

“I didn’t want to add to your stress.”

His jaw flexed. Then he exhaled. “Fine. But I want her vetted.”

“I will.”

He kissed me once more before standing. “I’ll text you when the meeting ends.”

“Where is it?”

“A hotel downtown.”

My heart skipped. “A hotel?”

“It’s easier for external partners.”

I nodded slowly. Of course that made sense.

He left shortly after.

Val Smith arrived at three in the afternoon.

She was exactly as Riley described. Raven-dark hair tied neatly at the nape of her neck. Green eyes that seemed observant but respectful. Her posture was perfect and her voice soft.

“Princess…” she began before catching herself. “I mean… Luna.”

I smiled politely. “Alice is fine when we’re alone.”

“Thank you,” she said, surprised.

“You were recommended by a… friend.”

“Yes.” A faint smile touched her lips. “She speaks highly of you.”

“She does?”

“She said you’re kind.”

I felt warmth bloom in my chest.

“Well,” I said lightly, “if she sent you, that’s good enough for me.”

I didn’t ask many questions as she seemed efficient, attentive, and strangely calming.

By evening, the kitchen was spotless. Laundry folded, dinner prepared.

Perfect.

After she left, I sent Riley a thank you message.

Night fell slowly. I dressed carefully, setting the dining table with candles like every anniversary. Traditionally, we spent this week visiting orphanages, donating quietly because for years we believed we might never have children of our own.

But this year was different.

This year, I carried his heir.

I wandered into the archive room while waiting, looking for old photographs. Instead, I found a small black box tucked into the back of a drawer that wasn’t mine.

Curiosity tugged at me.

Inside were old letters that was carefully preserved. My fingers trembled slightly as I unfolded one.

My V, I don’t know how to forget you.

The air left my lungs.

The handwriting was unmistakable.

Javier’s.

My heart thudded painfully.

I had heard whispers, long ago, about a mysterious first love. But when he met me, after I saved him from that warehouse fire years ago… he had chosen me fully.

He never spoke of her again.

So why did he keep these?

I’ll always come back to you, V.

The nickname burned into my mind.

V.

I shoved the letters back into the box quickly, my chest tight.

It was the past. Everyone had one. It meant nothing.

Right?

By eight, dinner was cold.

By nine, my calls went unanswered.

At ten, anxiety coiled around my spine.

Three dots appeared on our shared messaging device.

Disappeared.

Appeared again.

My pulse roared in my ears.

Suddenly, I remembered we shared location access. My fingers moved before my brain could stop them and the screen loaded slowly.

Hotel Meridian.

My stomach dropped.

Maybe it was still the meeting.

Maybe…

A notification popped up on the linked device.

A new message preview.

My breath stopped.

I’m glad you’re back, V. I’ve missed you. I’ll be at Meridian Hotel. See you there.

The world tilted violently.

V.

The same initial from the letters.

My hands began to shake.

I didn’t understand.

But deep down, I knew the answer…

The gates of Crescentline Pack opened slowly.I hadn’t passed through them in years… not since the night I chose Javier.Everything looked the same way I had left it. And yet I felt like a stranger.Riley squeezed my hand from the driver’s seat. “You don’t have to go in if you’re not ready.”“I have to,” I whispered. “He deserves to know his grandson is alive.”My son stirred softly in my arms. They conquer them.”“He will one day remind you that you left everything for him,” my mother had added softly, but I hadn’t listened. Now I stood at their doorstep, carrying

Darkness swallowed me in waves and sound came first. Beeping, rushing feet, distant shouting… then painIt split me open from the inside out. I tried to move, but my body felt submerged beneath water. “Her blood pressure is dropping.”“Prepare the OR.”“No…” My lips barely moved. “My… babies…”A contraction tore through me so violently that I screamed. The sound didn’t feel like it belonged to me.“Where is my husband?” I gasped. “Call Javier. Call him!”No one answered me directly. That terrified me more than the pain.“Please,” I begged, clawing weakly at the sheets. “He needs to be here.”Another contraction hit, and then I understood this wasn’t just stress.I was in labor.Too early.“No,” I whispered hysterically. “It’s too soon. They said I had to be careful. I came in. I did everything right.”“You did,” a doctor said firmly, gripping my shoulder. “But the cervix has shortened further. We can’t stop this now.”Tears blurred my vision. “Save them. Please. Save them.”“We’ll do
