Chapter Six

Chapter Six.

Riana woke up the next day with a smile hanging on her lips, she couldn't wait to see Angela's ugly face.

Oh, well it's gonna be fun.

She dared to mess with me, so she has to suffer the consequence that follows.

She was dropped by her Driver at the school gate and after entering the school and she wasn't surprised to hear people talking about Angela.

While some were happy that Angela's bad deeds had been exposed to the public, others were sympathizing with her.

She also witnessed the scene of Angela and her so-called best friend pulling at each other's hair and also cursing each other.

Though she was expecting this she never knew that Angela would still be so daring to show her face at school.

Isn't she afraid of being attacked by her anti-fans?

Ignoring them all, Riana went to her class and sat down quietly at her usual seat at the front of the class.

Having settled down in her comfortable seat, she took out the Novel, Hero from her school bag and continued reading in silence.

She continued from Chapter 16 where she stopped.

I love my Dad, really as he's my Hero.

I can say that he's the best thing that happened to me.

Well, I guess that this feeling is mutual as he loved Me as much too, perhaps it's because I am an only child.

He always gave in to me as he often gave me whatever I wanted.

He knew me even more than I knew myself.

He knew almost everything about me, my best color, best food, best snack, and so on.

He was very loving and caring to me.

I could vividly remember the time I fell sick due to the cold weather, he was there with me and for me, he consoled and distracted me when the nurse gave me the injection, he fed me my food and also prepared lots of sweets and chocolates for me when my mouth began to taste bitter due to the medicines I had to take.

He took care of me wholeheartedly without complaints, he stayed awake most of the time just to tend to my needs.

All this he did with a smile on his face even when he was tired and drained.

My Dad is indeed my hero.

I always prayed to God to bless my Dad and keep him safe and always thanked him for blessing me with a loving and caring father.

But well,....my worst fear soon come to pass.

I arrived from school one day with my nanny and after entering the house, I started hearing my mom and Dad's voice from their bedroom upstairs, it seemed like they were fighting.

I ran to the stairs and soon got to the room, I stood in front of it as I watched the drama that was going on, silently.

My mom was crying and Shouting at the same time while my Dad was wearing a blank expression on his face.

I was confused and couldn't comprehend what was going on at all.

My Dad walked out of the room with his suitcases and was surprised to see me in front of the room, he soon masked his surprise and it went away as if it was never there.

He went on his two knees in front of me and then pulled me into his arms, embracing me like he always did but it was a little different this time as the embrace was not as warm and relaxing as before.

He then whispered into my heart some words which I'll never forget for lifetimes to come, perhaps it's because, oh, well you'll find out soon.

The words were.

" I am sorry, baby but I need to do this as it's for the best, always remember one thing dearie and that's the fact that Dad loves you and will always love you, I hope that you'll find it in your little heart to forgive me for my actions someday. "

After saying this, he embraced me tightly once more and after breaking the hug, he gently pecked my forehead and then stood up.

I looked up just in time to see a lone teardrop from his eyes which he quickly wiped away.

If I was a minute late then I was sure that I wouldn't have been able to see it.

I almost laughed out loud at his actions when I remembered what he always told me about men.

" Men don't Cry. " He often said and if not for the situation we were in I would have questioned him, but oh well, I can't.

As I couldn't even open my mouth to speak, it was as if I suddenly became a statue as I watched my Dad in silence.

He looked back at My mom one last time and gave her a heart-wrenching smile.

Though I was younger back then, I could feel the pain and emotion in that single smile.

My Dad walked out of the house with his two suitcases, I never saw him again after that Day though we did saw him it wasn't the lively him but his corpse.

This we saw several years later after he walked out of the house.

By then I was already a grown-up girl of Sixteen.

It was a heartbreaking sight.

To see the man I had always admired and longed to see in a coffin, he had his eyes open and a signature smile on his lips, if I didn't know better then I would have thought that he was just sleeping but oh, well.

After a lot of investigation by the private investigator my mom hired, it was later found out that my Dad lost his life while trying to save hers, my mom, and Ime

As he was a famous Researcher, he heard about the spread of a deadly virus which was killing people and taking the lives of people in Africa so he did some research and was able to come up with the antidote for the virus but this lead him into a lot of trouble as those who created the deadly virus soon came after him and threatened to kill us, his family if he didn't agree to work with them.

For our Well-being, my Dad agreed to work with them and abandoned us.

Several years later he was granted his freedom as the duration of the contract was over.

He had already rendered his heart full services to them.

He was very happy to finally regain his freedom and immediately booked his flight back to the country where we resided.

But unknown to him, he had been feeding on slow poison over the years which damaged his organs.

He didn't make it back home to us alive as he died in the plane he boarded.

I felt very sad to hear about all of this, I had been very angry at my dad all these years not knowing that what he did was for our benefit.

I forgave my Dad, in my heart and I soon began to feel proud of him, and since then even though he's not alive as I believe that he's in a better place.

He'll always remain my hero.

This book was written in dedication to my Dad whom I believe is in a better place now.

The End.
