Chapter Four

A Crush.

Adriana's POV

A few months later my mom recovered from her depression but it wasn't entirely as recovery from mental illness usually takes years.

My mom told me everything that happened in detail, How she told her Childhood best friend about her plight Hoping to get help and advice from her not knowing that the latter will turn out to be a traitor, The latter confessed to having been in love with my Dad for years and she also claimed that she was in a relationship with my dad before my mom Even met him and that my mom was the evil friend that snatched her Boyfriend.

  My mom told me that she wasn't that hurt that her husband cheated on her but she was more hurt than her childhood friend that they had been together for years, through thick and thin could do something like that to her! 

My mom recovered completely over the years and moved on with her life, she decided that she wasn't going to be in any relationship whatsoever and was only going to remain single.

From my mom's painful experience, I learned that no one! Should be trusted with anything and so that's why I never had a best friend or even a close friend as I believed that they'll hurt me in one way or the other someday, I started to learn how to Be a bookworm and before I knew it I became a bookworm and became best friends with the characters in the book I read, though I often feel sad when I finish reading a book as I would have developed a particular kind of attraction to the characters in the book.

Throughout all this, I only had two people that I trusted and that I was very close to and the two people were none other than my mom and my Darling cousin Sia who was so caring and loving, though we weren't together most of the time as she was still in college then we were still very close.

" Back to Earth, Riana! " Sister Sia's voice came ringing in my head then I realized that I might have spaced out.

" Hey... " I said not knowing how to react.

" Just hey? What were you thinking so deeply about? " She asked me.

" Nothing much, I was reminiscing. " I replied.

" Oh! Is it the Sad past, or the Happy one? " She Curiously asked.

" Both " I replied.

" Okay, that reminds me, the guy you said you have a crush on. " 

" What about him? "

" Have you seen him before, apart from yesterday? " 

" I don't think so really, perhaps he's a science or commercial student as I don't think he's in my class. " I replied. 

" Okay. " 

" Yes, what about the cake you baked Sis? " I inquired.

" Oh! Cake, I left it downstairs on the dining table. " She told me.

" Okay. "

" I'll be going downstairs now, you can change and come meet me downstairs, and yes don't spend eternity dressing up! " She warned me Seriously and I nodded.

" Alright. " I replied.

" Good. " She Replied as she walked out of my room.

When she left I went to my Walk-in - Wardrobe and chose Pink Pijamas Pants and a White Mickey mouse Top and then I went downstairs.

When I got downstairs, I met the dining table already set, The Aroma of the Creamy cake made me drool Subconsciously.

" You are drooling. " Sister Sia told me as she came out from the kitchen.

" Oh! " I said as I quickly wiped out my drool with my Yellow handkerchief.

" Why are you still standing? , Have your Seat. " She told me and I complied immediately.

Sister Sia divided the cake into three portions and gave me my Share.

" Thank you! " I said in Appreciation.

"You're Welcome. " She replied Smiling.

" Taste it and tell me what you think. " 

" Okay, I replied as I divided my share into Four smaller portions and eat a portion, I moaned in delight as the soft cake melted in my mouth.

" How's it? " Sister Sia inquired.

" Wow, it's so delicious. " I replied.

" Thank you! " 

" My pleasure, I noticed that the flavor of this cake is quite different from the ones you used to make, I Could feel the  ' love ' in this one. " 

" Oh! Really? " 

" Yes, what's up? " 

" Nothing much, I just baked the cake with all my heart. " She replied.

" Really? Or there's a different reason. " 

" What other reason could there be? " 

" Dunno, You might probably be in love. " I teased and I noticed that she blushed.

" Don't tell me that I got it right? " 

" No, Yes.. "

" Wow! That's good news, So who's the lucky guy? " I asked.

" Secret, but you'll find out in due time," she replied Winking at me.

" Okay. " I could only agree as I knew that she wouldn't tell me even if I continue asking.

We continued eating our cake in complete Silence, With the both of us busy with our various thoughts.
