CHAPTER 55
Lucius began to lean down towards Jaida, and Arius felt the urge to try and hit him again. However, he refrained from doing so, knowing that the angel would only criticize him for it. That didn't mean he was going to stand by and watch though. He had to try and stop the angel.
"She's nothing to you, Lucius," stated Arius angrily. "Stop playing around and fight me!"
"Sorry, but I can't," he told the Deslyan, now only a few inches away from Jaida. "It's so much more fun…watching you suffer." And with that said, he disappeared completely, his transparent body falling into Jaida's.
"Lucius!" Arius called, but he received no response. He then remembered that he needed to keep his voice down a bit. Jaida's father was still home, and even though he slept on the lower floor, he wasn't deaf.

Jaida felt tears building in her eyes. She didn't want to see him like this. Sure, he wasn't her best friend and maybe he was a bit cold and arrogant, but that didn't mean she didn't like him. Arius' eyes were starting to close, but he didn't want to fall asleep yet. He couldn't. He was afraid of waking up in the morning and finding that Jaida was dead. He had to make sure that she was alright before he allowed himself any form of rest. He wouldn't even shut his eyes for a second. He couldn't risk anything. It was already two days before Christmas, and Arius soon found out that this holiday was a big one. Everywhere they went they saw people flooding stores, pushing and shoving to pick up gifts, decorations, food, etc. It was mayhem. Pure and simple mayhem. It's not that he minded much. Crowds didn't bother him that badly, but he had to admit that he hated the eyes that followed him. It was a new city and a whole new flock of following stares. He noticed how most of them were once again women, some staring at him and talking with friends. Arius shot a glare at Lucius, who only smirked back. He had enjoyed doing that. Arius didn't seem quite as thrilled as the angel. If those flames had hit Jaida head on, she could have been killed. "Merry Christmas!" Jaida shouted as she ran into Arius' room. She went to his window and threw open the shades, letting the light spread onto the dark walls.
