Fiona's pov

“You don’t get to speak of loyalty when you’re the one who tore our family apart,” I spat, stepping forward, my voice trembling with anger but full of steel.

Magnus Thornwood’s eyes, cold and calculating, met mine without a flicker of remorse. “You forget yourself, Fiona. I did what had to be done to keep the Thornwood pack alive.”

“By giving me away?” I snapped. “By selling me like some object to that monster Logan? And what about Lila? Where is she?”

For a heartbeat, I saw something flicker in Magnus’s gaze, something like regret but it vanished beneath a mask of icy control.

“She’s safe. For now,” he said sharply.

“Safe?” I echoed, disbelief and fury burning through me. “You left her as bait! Used her to control me, to control us both. That’s not safety. That’s cruelty.”

Magnus’s jaw tightened. “Every choice I’ve made has been for Thornwood’s survival. The pack’s future.”

“And what about our family?” I demanded, voice rising. “You shattered it. You took Lila away from

  • A DEAL WITH THE ALPHA DEVIL   Chapter forty: his curse

Fiona's pov I stared at my window, to the moon, I couldn’t sleep. My mind unsettled ,too fast , the thought of everything, Logan’s cold stare, Rowan’s cruel words, and most of all, my sister still trapped somewhere in the dark.I slipped from the stone steps of the Blackridge stronghold, careful to avoid the watchful eyes of the guards. My bare feet pressed softly into the damp earth as I wandered toward the forest edge. The trees loomed tall and silent, their branches twisting like ancient fingers against the night sky.A restless breeze stirred the leaves. I inhaled deeply, the fresh scent of pine and moss grounding me. I needed space. Time to think, to breathe. To face whatever truths I was too afraid to speak during the day.Deeper into the woods, just past a tall oak with bark rough as old leather, a shadow shifted.I stopped, heart skipping.A figure stood still, half-hidden by darkness, their shoulders hunched as if carrying the weight of the world. The silhouette was familia

  • A DEAL WITH THE ALPHA DEVIL   Chapter thirty nine: don't hurt her

Fiona's pov The firelight flickered against the rough walls of the camp, sending long shadows that twisted and triggered, like the restless thoughts in my mind. Every snap and crackle of the burning wood felt like a whisper of warning but I kept my eyes fixed on the figure standing before me.Rowan.He was there, in the heart of the rogue camp, holding my sister Lila close, spinning her slowly around. The chains on Lila’s wrists clinked softly, but her eyes, those soft, frightened eyes never left me. I felt a cold lump settle in my chest. It wasn’t just fear for her, it was more than a fear, smething I hadn’t let myself admit until this moment.Rowan looked different from the boy I once knew. The rogue leader had hardened into a cruel shadow, sharp and dangerous. But when he looked at Lila, and especially when his gaze flickered to me, I saw something that unsettled me more than any threat, something that almost looked like a regret or obsession. He stopped spinning Lila and caught h

Fiona's pov “Don’t you dare hurt her.” My voice cracked, raw with fury and desperation. I gripped Logan’s arm tighter, my nails digging into his skin. “If anything happens to Lila, Rowan will pay with his life.”Logan’s jaw clenched, his eyes darkening with a storm that matched the wild pounding of my heart. “I swear to you, Fiona, I’ll make sure nothing happens to her.”I wanted to believe him, but the tight knot in my stomach told me the battle wasn’t over yet. Not by a long shot. The camp was silent except for the faint crackling of the dying fire. I knelt beside Lila, brushing the tangled strands of her dark hair from her pale face. She was awake now, eyes fluttering open, confusion and pain flickering there. Bruises bloomed like dark flowers along her arms and cheeks, her small frame trembling.“I’m here, Lila,” I whispered, pressing my forehead against hers. “You’re safe. We’re going to get you out of this.”She tried to smile, weak and shaky, but the fear was still there, ling

Fiona's pov “Do you think Rowan will come back tonight?” I asked, my voice was barely rising above the crackle of the campfire.Logan’s eyes darkened as he stared into the flickering flames. “He’s smart. He won’t rush in without a plan, not just like that.”I wrapped my arms around my knees, trying to steady the tremble that had been growing inside me since we were attacked. The threat of Rowan and his rogues hung over us like a storm cloud, thick, heavy, and impossible to ignore.“He’s waiting for the perfect moment to strike,” I said quietly. “And when he does, it won’t be just the pack we’ll lose.”Logan shifted closer, the heat from his body a welcome shield against the cold night air. “We won’t let him take what’s ours, never again.”His words were a balm, but my heart still thudded painfully in my chest. The mate bond between us pulsed, a steady vibration under me, tying me to him whether I wanted it or not, and tonight, it felt like a rope pulling me into a fire I wasn’t sure

Fiona's pov “Don’t look away.”The voice was a harsh whisper in my mind, relentless as the cold wind that rattled the broken windows of the old Thornwood estate.I opened my eyes to darkness, the heavy scent of damp earth and decay pressing in.A shadow moved in the corner, a figure I wished I could forget but never would.Rowan.He was closer than I thought, his presence a dark pulse in my chest. He stepped forward, the moonlight catching the cold glint in his eyes. “You belong to me, Fiona. You always have.”I swallowed the fear twisting inside me. “I belong to no one.”His smile was cruel. “That’s what they all say.”It had been days since that confrontation in the courtyard.Logan and I had grown closer, but Rowan’s shadow never faded. He was a threat to the pack, yes, but more dangerously, a ghost from my past I hadn’t fully escaped. The memory hit me sharp, Rowan standing at the edge of our childhood, his dark eyes watching me when no one else did.He was my first crush, my fir

  • A DEAL WITH THE ALPHA DEVIL   Chapter thirty five: not yours to keep

Fiona's pov “Are you awake?” Logan’s voice was barely above a whisper, but it sliced through the heavy silence in the room.I opened my eyes, still hazy from the exhaustion that had clung to me all day. The dim light from the moon filtered through the curtains, casting long shadows across the floor. He was sitting on the edge of the bed, his posture rigid, like every muscle was holding back something. Maybe regret, or maybe pain, hope.“I am now,” I said, voice cracked but steady.Logan shifted closer, careful not to crowd me. “You were brave today. I didn’t think... you could do it.”I scoffed softly. “That’s because you didn’t know me.”He gave me a small, genuine smile, the first I’d seen without that hard edge.“I’m learning.”I stared at his hands, resting on his knees, strong but relaxed for once. All the walls I’d built around him felt like they were starting to crumble.“We both are,” I whispered. The past few days had been a whirlwind, rescuing Lila, escaping Magnus’s grip,
