A Deal With The Devil

Carolyn arrived alone at Keith's mansion as the men left her for a business meeting.

She was led into a beautiful, luxurious room. It was a big room painted white with intricate gold. The only couch in the room was placed beside a gold curtain. A floor-to-ceiling window separated the balcony from the room with a long white curtain.

Carolyn couldn't believe what her eyes were seeing.

She lowered her eyes to the bed. The large king-size bed with a gold headboard and gold frame was the prettiest she had seen… and the beautiful chandelier that was lit above her head made her throat go dry.

What about the floor? The fluffy white foot placed under the bed, spreading to cover a small space around the bed, made Carolyn forget to close her mouth.

She had seen wealth and tasted it, but this luxury she was seeing was something she had seen only in movies.

After admiring the room, the maid who led her in helped prepare her bathing water. After a warm bath, the maid helped her change into a more comfortable outfit.

“Mrs Davis, should I set the dining table for your dinner or bring it here instead?” The maid asked.

Carolyn smiled and said, “Thank you, but I am not hungry”.

“Is there anything you'd want me to do for you?” The maid asked.

“No, you can go,” Carolyn said, and the maid bowed her head a little and left.

Carolyn walked to the bed and ran her hand through it, the softness of the bed was alluring. She sat leisurely on the bed with a beautiful smile. She caught a big whale.

Her eyes darted around the room, but there was no picture frame on the wall.

“Why would someone not have a frame of him or his family in his house, because she didn't see any in the living room too? He's a weirdo.” She thought.

She yawned tiredly. The desire to sleep crept in, but she fought it. She needed to stay awake and wait for her husband to return.

“It is obvious the heavens are happy with me, for me not to have been caught by my aunt.” She said recalling the event of the day and how she ended up here.

She opened her eyes, struggling to fight the sleep, but she was too tired. She lay on the bed, and the softness drew her in, and she slept off.

She felt someone's presence in the room. Though she thought she was hallucinating, she decided to see what it was.

She slowly opened one eye, and she saw two menacing eyes that were staring at her. Her other eye flew open and she immediately sprang up to her feet, she lost her balance and fell with her butt hitting the floor. She stood up with her head bowed while scolding herself inwardly.

“Sorry, sir. It wasn't my intention to sleep. I... I wanted to wait, but nature took its place, and I couldn't fight it.” She stuttered, her eyes glued to the floor.

His piercing gaze on her made her sweaty even with the cold air conditioning in the room.

She was shivering, if he should continue with his intense gaze on her, in an additional second she might pass out.

“Why is this man giving the vibe of a demon or is he the devil? No, devils are meant to be ugly with horns on their heads. This man looks like a seductress. Ah, Carolyn what are you even thinking keep shut and focus.” Carolyn was fighting with her inner self when she heard his rich deep voice cutting through her thoughts.

“Carolyn Kingston, once married to Marcus Robinson, but lost him in a fatal incident.”

Hearing those words, Carolyn's heart erupted. She instantly raised her eyes to meet his. She saw brimming anger in them. She prayed for the ground to open and swallow her up, but nothing happened. She knew she couldn't hide her identity for long, but she never thought it would be this soon. She was doomed; tears stung at the corner of her eyes.

“Am I current?” He asked, sitting on the couch with a pipe between his fingers.

“Ye..I.I mean… no.. I can explain...”

“I don't like repeating myself, woman. Answer the damn question before I blow your brains out. Are you Carolyn Kingston?” He cut in. Carolyn couldn't hold her tears anymore and they freely strolled down her cheeks.

“Yes, I am.” She answered, and he sprang to his feet immediately, his height hovering over her.

Carolyn's breath hitched, and she closed her eyes waiting for whatever was coming next. Her fate was sealed; she was going to die.

“Should I put a bullet through your damn skull for fooling me?” He asked and Carolyn was surprised, she expected the man to pull the trigger already.

“You will be lucky to get out of here alive if you aren't one of those b**ches sent to spy on me.” He said, dangerously drawing his pipe and puffing the smoke on Carolyn's face.

“No sir, I swear by my father's grave, I am not, my aunt set me up in a contract marriage that would end my life and take over all that my father left for me. I got to know of her plans on the day of my wedding. I managed to escape, and your friend found me, he asked if I was your bride, to save my life I had to lie.” I didn't mean it in any harmful way. I am sorry. Carolyn confessed in one breath.

Keith squirted his eyes on the little bunny before him for a while. He knew she was telling the truth, but who cares? Whatever shit she's into isn't his damn business.

“Grab your stuff and leave before I blow your brains out, my assistant will send the divorce papers to you.” He ordered and pulled out a small pistol.

Immediately Carolyn went on her knees and that took Keith by surprise.

“What the hell is this little bunny doing.” He thought with knitted brows.

“Please sir, don't divorce me, I will do whatever you want, but not a divorce. Carolyn pleaded desperately with the man whose everything about him was screaming danger.

He stood still staring at her with his piercing gaze that sent shivers down her spine.

He took a slow stride to her, held her chin with his index finger making her eyes meet his, and said.

“Little bunny, you did not only fool my assistant into believing you're my bride, but you're also asking for a favor? “ I'd like to sound a note of warning. Being my wife means you're ready to stay in my hell. You seem too fragile to be in my abyss, you might die, and there's no going back once you're in. Are you still willing?” He asked.

“Carolyn took a deep breath and eventually said. “Yes I am willing, but in exchange, you'll have to protect me from my aunt and her goons.” She firmly said.

Keith squirted his eyes at the little bunny in front of him for whatever reason, she was the most daring woman he had come across, and a devilish smile curled up his lips and said. “STRIP AND PLEASURE YOURSELF WIFEY.” And Carolyn's jaws dropped.
