A Deal with the Ruthless Billionaire

Carolyn ran towards the stairs with her protruding tummy leading the way.

She climbed the stairs, stepping on two at a time, not minding the pain she felt in her tummy due to the way she had run. She had gotten a call from her colleague saying she saw her husband, Marcus, with another lady entering this apartment, and here she was to save her marriage.

Finally, checking through the apartment numbers, she spotted the number her colleague had told her about at the far end of the corridor. Hastily, she walked over, and with all her might, she banged on the mahogany door.

“Who the fuck bangs on someone’s door that way?" She heard a voice yelling from the inside, and she could swear it was her husband Marcus’s voice.

But she never stopped. She kept banging on it until she heard the door unlocked and was pulled open.

“Who the fuck…” Marcus froze upon seeing her without a second thought he bolted the door against her face.

Carolyn jolted from the force, she stared at the door shocked, but she eventually resumed her banging on the door while yelling, “Get out here you cheat."

"Since you aren't ashamed, I tell you I am not as well, come out here you bloody cheat” she kept banging on the door.

Shortly after, the door was pulled open, but this time, it wasn't just Marcus who stepped out; the lady followed behind him with her arms wrapped around his waist.

Carolyn was struck dumb, staring up at the cheaters in front of her, and she felt she'd just been hit in her womb as she felt that shape pain hitting her down there.

The lady her husband was cheating on her with was none other than her bestie Cynthia Norman.

Marcus spun Cynthia around to face him, planting soft kisses on her lips down to her collarbone. They acted like no one was watching them.

“Ahh" Carolyn screamed as she raised her hand to yank Cynthia's hair, but Marcus was fast enough to catch her hands mid-air, “Don't you dare." He shoved her away, Carolyn staggered, her back hitting the wall and she winced in pain holding her tummy.

But Marcus never cared. To him, she was just like an unfeeling doll who could never get his attention. He had only married her for her wealth, but she was foolish enough to have left home for him. He had thought perhaps with time, she would get back on good terms with her family so he could get what he wanted, but the foolish girl never did.

Marcus looked at Cynthia affectionately and said, “ Give me some time, let me clear things up with her and I'll be back in a jiffy". She gave one last glance at Carolyn who was still rooted on her spot watching them with eyes that screamed betrayal, she turned and entered into her apartment shutting the door behind her.

Marcus walked over to Carolyn, grabbed her by the wrist, and pulled her with him out of the apartment.

“Let me go, you son of bitch you're hurting me". She cried.

Marcus got to the car and shoved her inside slamming the door shut before turning to the driver's side, he got inside and drove off.

“You disgusting bastard, where are you taking me.”

“Home", he answered briefly.

" Oh, you still remember you have a home when you're sneaking around apartments with slutty bitches.”

“Can't you just be useful for once? Must you find ways to ridicule me at any given chance? You're so useless that the only thing you know how to do best is to cheat on me with women that aren't even up to my standards and you have to add my best friend to the list. What do you gain from hurting me, Marcus?”

“Carolyn, just shut up, I'm already having a headache, do not add to it.”

“By the way, what standards are you referring to? Because the last time I checked you had none.”

“Why Cynthia?” She asked, with a choking voice, " I can accept you cheating on me with the rest but why my best friend?”

Marcus didn't say anything but kept on driving.

“Answer me you man slut”, she yelled.

“Hahaha, you called me a man slut?” Marcus asked, nodding his head, “Fine I'll give you the answer you want.”

“You see that lady, she's far better than you can ever imagine. She makes me feel good, she makes me feel in a way that you can't make me feel in a million years, she's damn good both in character and in bed but you… you're so full of yourself that you think everyone is below you, and in the bedroom, you're nothing but a log of wood. I wonder what your boss sees in you".

“My boss," she asked, wondering what he meant by that.

“Oh, he chuckled, you think I don't know you're fucking your boss? You must think that I am stupid.”

Carolyn's breath caught in her throat, her eyes widening in shock. How could he say that to her, how could he accuse her of cheating? She had stayed true to him, sacrificing her dreams and family just to be with him.

He was the one who cheated, he should be ashamed of himself but why is he shifting the blame on her?

“I choose to be a good wife, and I went out there to do what you're supposed to be doing, working tirelessly to make our life better and all I get from all of this is you accusing me of cheating?”

“You're evil Marcus, and karma will catch up with you”.

“The only person karma will catch up with is you, you shameless slut.”

“Never, Marcus, never have I cheated on you, I could swear on our child, you know, I find it hard to believe you feel cheating on me is normal you aren't even remorseful about it. Despite all that I have done for you.

“I have never gone against my father's wish, but I did for you, I sacrificed practically everything for you. Is this how you're repaying me?.”

“Shut up, Carolyn, I don't want to listen to any of this nonsense anymore. Do you think I'm happy that you gave up your luxurious life? We are suffering as a result of your stupid choices.”

“I have to leave since they never wanted us together. I did what I did because I love you.”

“That's nonsense”. Marcus chuckled.

“Do I deserve this kind of treatment from you? Have you forgotten that I am expecting your baby, Marcus, our first child?”

“You know what, let's divorce. It will help save us the stress of getting on each other's nerves. You're always nagging these days and I'm fed up with you. When I first met you, it seems I viewed you from a rosey glass door. You were such a sweet beautiful girl, but taking a closer look at you now. You look like an old woman without pulling a face.

“When you went about sleeping with your boss did I complain? So why complain when I am doing mine?”

“You know, It is written in the holy book, he who kills by the sword will die by the sword, and he who cheats will also be cheated on. You're a Christian so you should know these things.”

Carolyn couldn't believe her ears, was this the man she married, sacrificed everything for and had been faithful to, and tolerated his excesses for two good years?

“I even confronted you thinking maybe you'll tell me the truth, but then again you lied, you lied you went there for some stupid work, what kind of work you can't do in the office, but at his house? Why do you seem so innocent? When you're nothing but a cheap little slut”.

“What! Are you surprised? He laughed, no you shouldn't be, you should be happy you're a sneaky cheap little slut who's so good with her games.

“When you've exhausted yourself with him, then you come to our bedroom lying like a log of wood. I can't even lay with you anymore because you've made yourself a public dump where anyone can dump their sperm.

“You see that thing inside your womb isn't mine, go look for who got that thing in you," Marcus said, pointing at her protruding tummy.

“Ahhhh," Carolyn screamed frustratingly, she couldn't hold it anymore and pushed Marcus's head hard against the steering wheel causing the car to sway into the opposing lane.

“Oh, God, this can't be.” Carolyn cried when she saw the trailer speeding towards them.

Marcus raised his hand to smack her across the face, but Immediately he saw what was before them the color on his face drained.

Carolyn stared at Marcus desperately, the car was at his full speed, and her heart raced against her chest.

The thought of her dying made her a crying mess, this wasn't right. Yes, no one would indeed live forever, but then no one would want to die in a ghastly accident with a baby in her womb.

In that fleeting instant, Carolyn's thoughts flashed to her unborn child and the life she'd left behind. She bit her bottom lip, the metallic taste of blood mingling with her tears.

She closed her eyes tightly praying on the heavens to save them, or if maybe there was any god fairy seeing them now she should come to save them with her magic wand just like in fairy-tales stories, but then the heavens seemed to be too far from them now and it seems fairies aren't real but they were just fanciful stories as the reality dawned on her, she's going to die a miserable death with this baby in her womb. She placed a hand over her tummy with her eyes closed as she waited for death.
