The next morning Kahlia banged on Aria's bedroom door. "Hey, Aria...get a move on or we're all going to be late!"
He got no reply and cursed, opening her door and striding in seeing her still in bed, curled up fast asleep.
"Hey! Lazy bones...get up!" He yelled, kicking her bed and making it jolt.
He grabbed her shoulder and shook her, her head lolled unnaturally and she fell onto her back.
Kahlia's blood went cold. "Aria?" He asked, concerned, leaning down and staring at her.
After talking to Doctor Rainwood over the phone Theta-Brin was pleased to be able to get his sage advice concerning the she-wolf Aria, the main concern with treating her was that she wasn't part of Thunderwolf Pack and diplomacy had to be strictly adhered to. The fact that Dean Mathers had obviously heard about the girl's condition was worrisome, but he had contacted Dr Rainwood with only best interests in mind. So it was agreed after getting Alpha Carlyle's permission to allow Dr Rainwood the opportunity to examine Aria if she gave her own permission for it.Dr Rainwood agreed to meet Theta-Brin at the house where Aria was staying the next day for her scheduled check up.As he pulled up in front of the house he
Dean had a fitful sleep full of strange dreams of snow storms and flying over mountain peaks, waking several times in the night either covered in sweat or shivering in cold. When he finally gave up on sleep and sat up, putting his feet on the ground and wiping his hands over his face he saw the time was half past five. His alarm was due to go off at six anyway so he got up and headed for the shower. He flinched as the heat of the water seemed to burn his back as he got under it, turning it down from its usual spot. He thought it a little strange since his shower had always been set at the perfect temperature and never moved. When he got out and got dressed he found his t-sh
Kahlia's words died in his throat as he felt the strong wave of an order wash over him. He frowned as Dean turned back to Aria. "Are you thirsty, baby, want some water?" He picked up the glass beside the bed and helped her to lift her head and sip it.She giggled as she lay her head back down. Dean smirked at her with his eyes glittering. "What's so amusing, little wolf?""I could get used to this..." Her eyes sparkled back as she smiled. Dean leaned forward and kissed her lips.Kahlia grabbed his shoulder and pushed him backwards, making him fall back on his ass. "Cut that out!"
Dean made his way up the streets taking a long way around a large block and then doubling back to come up in the street behind the house Aria and the basketballers were staying in. He dropped down behind a hedge when he heard a car and saw a little ford laser drive past. He chuckled to himself and stood up, checking his phone to see Mark had sent him a message.M – Two parked out front is all we could see, they got out and stood there staring at us as we drove past.D- Cool thanks, go to the playground around the corner on Maple St, wait for me there.M –
Dean was pacing at school in the lunchbreak unable to focus on anything as he spoke to William on the phone."I need you to find out what's really going on with this deal over Aria...she let slip that there is something about her that Thunderwolf want. I need to know what that something is."He hung up and turned to see Hamish walking over to him with a frown. Damn, now what, he had sent him to check up on Aria."Hey man, Aria isn't here today...""What do you mean?
Christoff Carlyle was a man of few words and when he spoke people noticed, because if they didn't they suffered. Being the Alpha of the largest and most widespread pack in the world and the fact it was made up of several smaller packs that had been defeated and absorbed into Thunderwolf over the decades of decline, meant that he had little choice than to be ruthless to keep them all in line as they were dotted throughout the continent. It meant he travelled a lot as well under the guise of business meetings, conferences and such and many of his pack worked within his national construction business as well as his interstate transport company, Carlyle Freight. When he had taken over Rourke's pack forty years ago both of them had been young and aggressive, nearly killing ea
