17 - An Alpha's Job

Christoff Carlyle was a man of few words and when he spoke people noticed, because if they didn't they suffered. Being the Alpha of the largest and most widespread pack in the world and the fact it was made up of several smaller packs that had been defeated and absorbed into Thunderwolf over the decades of decline, meant that he had little choice than to be ruthless to keep them all in line as they were dotted throughout the continent. It meant he travelled a lot as well under the guise of business meetings, conferences and such and many of his pack worked within his national construction business as well as his interstate transport company, Carlyle Freight.

When he had taken over Rourke's pack forty years ago both of them had been young and aggressive, nearly killing ea
