Alima POV

I slowly opened my eyes, and was met with a sight that made my blood run cold. I was lying on a cold, damp stone floor, surrounded by dark, grey walls. The air was musty as it stinks badly. I struggled to sit up, but a wave of pain washed over me and my body ached all over. I raised a hand to my forehead, wincing as I tried to piece together how I had ended up in this forsaken place.

Then I realized I fell Into a ditch. “Who saved me? And how come I was in a dungeon? Did Alpha Marek catch up with me?” I subconsciously asked myself questions I couldn’t answer but there was only one way to find out.

I began pounding on the door, as I screamed and yelled at the top of my lungs. “Let me out!" .

“Open the door! I want to go home!" I kicked and pounded on the door, wailing as my voice hoarse from shouting

My screams and yells gradually gave way to sobs and tears as the reality of my situation overwhelmed me. I slumped against the door, my body shaking with convulsive sobs as I begged to be released. "Please... let me out," I whimpered, trembling with fear.

“I don't want to be here... I'm scared,” I pleaded.

Suddenly, the door to the dungeon creaked open, and a dim light from the corridor outside spilled in, lighting the dark space. A burly guard stood in the doorway, his face a mask of indifference as he gazed at me with a dispassionate eye.

“Shut up!” He bellowed, his voice cold and threatening. I immediately kept quiet not wanting to offend him.

“Your majesty, she’s awake," He growled, his voice low and rough, as he turned to address someone standing just out of sight in the corridor.

I closed my eyes in fear, realizing I wasn’t able to get away from Alpha Marek. I knew he wasn’t going to be satisfied until he’s done punishing me.

I heard footsteps coming closer, and I felt a shiver run down my spine, and my head instinctively bent in horror, embracing myself for whatever comes next. But then, a familiar scent wafted through the air, intoxicating and alluring, and my entire body reacted with a jolt of recognition. Amber, who was dormant until now, suddenly sprang to life.

Her joyful howl echoed through my mind, and a single, ecstatic word resounded my mouth: “Mate!"

I slowly lifted my head, my eyes rising to meet the gaze of a stranger who stood before me. As our eyes locked, I felt a jolt of surprise, for the man was undeniably handsome. His chiseled features, piercing eyes, and strong jawline all combined to create a face that was both captivating and intimidating.

He stood tall, as he stared at me, his eyes seeming to bore into my soul, he smelt differently and I could tell he wasn’t the usual werewolf Alphas. It dawned on me as I realized he was a Lycan King. And then, in a low, husky voice, he spoke a single word that sent shivers down my spine: "Mate!”

I gasped, not believing my eyes as I pinched myself, wondering if I was dreaming. But his next words made it very clear to me.

“Get my mate out of this fucking dungeon!”

The guard hastily moved to lift me from the floor, but before he could, the Lycan King stepped forward.

“No!” He growled, his voice low and commanding. The guard hesitated, then stepped back, allowing the Lycan King to take his place. With a gentle yet firm movement, he swept me up into his arms, in a bridal style. He held me close, his chest warm against my cheek, as he carried me out of the dungeon.

He kept on walking, door after door to a luxurious room, it was the best I’d ever seen in my entire life. He took me to the bed, and he laid me down gently.

My mind laughed at the silly dream I must have fell into.

He stood over me, his eyes scrutinizing my body, but despite the intensity of his stare, I couldn't bring myself to meet his eyes. I felt a flutter in my chest, a shyness that i couldn't explain, as I lay there, my face averted, and my heart pounding in my chest.

“Go freshen up,” He said, pointing to the bathroom. “The healer would be here soon,” He said and I sat up, and I almost screamed at the sight of my legs. dark injuries across my thigh and legs, some were already starting to heal, but others were still deep and painful red, which left an aching pain.

I mustn’t have noticed this with how dark the dungeon was, I didn’t want to think about anything but continue my fantasy.

If I couldn’t find this in real life then i won’t question my dream, it’s all I have got to console my broken soul.

His expression softened as he took my reaction to the bruises on my legs. As if he could sense my distress, my embarrassment, and my pain. “Did my guards touch you?” He asked and I could feel the murderous look from his gaze.

“N…not at all,” I spluttered and I heard him sigh.

“I’ll be back,” He said and he walked out of the room.

I sigh and I walk into the bathroom. After much contemplation, I managed to remove my clothes and I took my bath ignoring the pain of how my body ached badly.

I winced painfully as I tied the towel around my body and walked out of the bathroom after taking a long warm shower. I realised I had no clothes to wear. But I sighed in relief when I saw the clothes on the bed.

I didn’t want to wake up, at least not now, peace had been too far from me and this was it.

Why was he kind to me? Why treat me like we've met before? Or is it because of the bond? He felt it too, didn't he? Silly jokes to be mated to another Lycan king after being rejected by An Alpha King.

Perhaps I was wishing for this deep down inside me after what happened, I yarn for the opposite that I started dreaming about it.

I hurriedly wore the clothes, but they felt a bit baggy on me. Sitting by the edge of the bed, I wondered what next to do, until a knock came on the door, snapping me out of my brief thought.

"Who is that?" Is this the end of my fantasy? Is the knock supposed to bring me back to reality? Waking up to old grandma Stephanie hunt?.
