Chapter 5

After the fiasco in the morning, Leon, William, and Christopher had gone to the campus hospital for the scheduled check ups for Christopher who had previously gone through a bike accident and had to treat his wounds for that.

Obviously that was what they had to tell even when that wasn't the case. Their secrecy were always kept well backed up by the internal higher ups of the university.

A team nobody knew or heard of. They never let themselves out but they'd pick the ones they seemed would fit their standards.

"Hey, aren't those the girls from this morning?" Leon asked pointing towards Iris and Elizabeth who were sitting near the waiting area but each bearing different reactions.

While Iris looked terribly worried and in deep thoughts, on the other hand, the other lady sat there calmly but with a dangerous aura accumulating around her.

She was scary, Leon had concluded. Never piss her off he noted silently.

"One is missing though." Leon mumbled looking around. The prettiest one with gorgeously long hair with sharp attractive phoenix eyes according to him and he damn well knew his bestfriends would disagree.

"Why are they in the hospital?" Christopher frowned looking at the worried expression adorned by the beautiful girl with a high ponytail and beautiful gorgeous hazel coloured doe eyes.

William however, frowned looking at Elizabeth who was silently seething as if planning a murder already.

"Looks like the one who's absent is hurt." William analysed looking at the atmosphere around the two ladies.

Before they could approach the girls, they were pulled away by their assigned doctor, Doctor. Lu.

"Took you long enough. Let me examine you now." They couldn't protest and sat down to accompany Christopher knowing they'd be next whether they were hurt or not, as usual.

An hour or two later, they were thrown out of the examination room by Doctor Lu saying she had work and was tired of seeing their faces for so long.

Mean. Leon grumbled as he walked down the hallways with his friends, towards the balcony garden on the left wing that would be empty at this time around.

They took drinks from the wending machine and went to lounge there but stopped when they spotted the three girls together but one was sitting in a wheelchair.

It got their attention. Just this morning they were fine, so what had happened now? They looked at each other in worry.

They stepped forward slowly trying to get a glimpse and frowned harder when they saw the red burn marks all over Anya's body.

How did she get those burns?

"Hot water. Her skin would've burnt worse had she been exposed to it more." Leon spoke chewing on his lips in worry.

They didn't want to eavesdrop but stayed to listen to the conversation because they were worried.

"I felt my heart drop Anya seeing you like that. Please don't do that again and talk to us. We're here to help you. We will I promise." Iris spoke kneeling down and gently holding her hands in her own soft palms.

"Mn. Will help and protect you, Anya." Elizabeth agreed and spoke with very strong conviction.

"Thank you." Anya whispered feeling vulnerable and she hated it. She hated remembering the phantom feeling of the past lingering on her present and making her this vulnerable.

"We won't push you Anya but we'll wait for you to tell us if you want to in time. Don't stress too much whatever it is do tell us and we'll protect you." Iris assured Anya with a very warm smile that felt like home.

"Anya, just answer this to me." Elizabeth asked seriously making Anya nod. She wasn't ready to talk about it yet but she knew that just maybe she could tell about these to her new friends in the future. She could see herself doing that but for now she'd take time.

"Did it happen because of him in the morning or someone else." Iris gasped at that and looked at Elizabeth and then towards Anya with terrified pleading eyes as if asking them to deny her though processes.

But she could feel her heart break when Anya stiffened and slightly trembled.

Elizabeth placed her hands in a sure grip on her shoulder to stop her from shivering. "It's fine i got my answers Anya and I will protect you and teach you to protect yourself. I promise."

Anya took a shuddering breath at that thankful that she didn't need to confirm or deny. She slumped forward and rested her head on Iris's shoulder while placing a hand over Elizabeth's that was placed on her shoulder.

"Thank you so much you two." She whispered and broke into soft sobs being hugged by her newfound family, feeling safe and secure.

The three males stood in their place frozen trying to process what had happened. In the morning? Someone else? What?

They looked utterly confused but worried as well. However before they could get caught by Elizabeth who was now looking around with her sharp cold gaze, they slipped the other way and walked towards the exit door.

After that day the two groups would run into each other a lot of times anywhere in the campus. That's how they got to know that they had dormitories opposite to each other. The right side of the girl's dorm was connected to the Boy's dormitory by a single bridge to each others administrtive floor in the middle on the sixth floor.

The three boys had got to know that they were neighbours to the girls when they saw the three huddling up together in the balcony in one such cosy afternoon, reading books and drinking hot chocolate surrounded by blankets. They looked adorable and happy.

The boys were out in the balcony with Leon and William fighting over laundry and semi wrestling with one in a headlock and the other kicking in the air. While Christopher paid no attention to them but instead sat frozen on the beanbag looking at the beautiful scenery ahead.
