Lydia's pov.

The battle continued as the loud sounds of howls and metal clanging filled the air.

I pressed my hands against my ears, trying to block it out, but it was no use at this point.

The pack house was shaking. The screams of warriors, the growls of rogues, and the crashing of bodies against walls was everywhere.

“Move! Lydia, stay close!” Jon shouted, grabbing my hand and pulling me through the corridor.

Jon was one of the best warriors in the pack, always calm, always sharp and James had ordered him earlier to get me to safety.

Another warrior followed behind us, tall and strong, but I didn’t know his name.

His face was set, eyes darting back and forth like he expected an attack any second.

“I’m scared,” I whispered as we ran.

“I know,” Jon said, his voice steady. “But I won’t let anything happen to you.”

We turned a corner, and my heart dropped. Part of the hallway was on fire, smoke curling into the air.

“They’re everywhere,” the second warrior muttered. “We need to g

James pov. Just as I stepped inside, The room was warm and quiet, lit by a few lanterns hanging on the wall. The soft glow made everything feel calm. It smelled like fresh herbs and soap. I looked around and saw Lydia near the corner of the room, folding some clean clothes on the bed.She didn’t notice me at first. Her long hair was tied back, and she wore a simple dress that hugged her figure. She moved carefully, her back straight, her hands smooth and fast as she worked. A small smile touched my lips as I stood there admiring her. No matter what chaos was going on outside, Lydia always brought a kind of peace. She was the only person who could do that for me.I closed the door behind me and that was enough to draw her attention. She looked up, startled for a second, then smiled softly when she saw it was me. “Hey,” she said.“Hey,” I replied, walking farther into the room. “You didn’t have to do that.”She shrugged. “I wanted to keep the place tidy for you. I know you have ha

James pov. I raised my head up slowly, squinting my eyes to look at the clouds. The sun was setting slowly, painting the sky with soft orange and red colors. It was a beautiful sight to behold. I sat alone on the edge of the training ground, resting on a flat stone. The breeze was cool against my skin I must admit, and the smell of dirt and sweat lingered in the air. Ahead of me, a group of warriors were training. They moved in pairs, sparring and practicing with wooden swords. Their grunts and the clash of wood filled the air. I should have been training with them too, but then I didn’t join them. I had already trained earlier, and right now, I just wanted to sit and think.Everything had been moving so fast. I had a lot on my mind, the image of the man who Roland had mentioned to be known as callen, Alpha silas beta stealing Auren right before my eyes still hundred my mind. It was all heavy on my mind, I leaned forward, resting my elbows on my knees, watching a young warrior ge

Ezekiel’s Pov. The elders had arrived only minutes ago, uninvited, and not one of them had smiled since walking through the doors. They sat stiffly in their seats, long robes brushing the floor, old eyes full of questions they weren’t saying yet.I was still surprised to see them, we weren't notified like we used to and it has been a while since they visited and right now it didn't look like they were in the best of moods. Especially elder Tobias, I could see the small frown on his face and his first Words had confirmed my suspicion. “Alpha Ezekiel,” he said in his deep voice. “We need to talk.”I knew right away that this wouldn't be a friendly conversation, somehow I knew what this Was all about, auren. They must have heard that Auren has been kidnapped for days and must have decided to wait for a while trying to see if I would handlebar before trying to interveneRight now, the air inside the hall was heavy. Seeing them, I had gotten up from my chair and was now standing near

Ezekiel's pov. I blinked at the dark forest around me.It was shocking, my heart pounded in my chest. I didn’t know how I got there. What is this? Where the hell am I? One second, I was in bed. The next, I was standing under a full moon, surrounded by tall trees and cold wind brushing past my skin. Everything was silent, but not the peaceful kind. It was the kind of silence that made your heart beat faster.“Where am I?” I whispered to myself this time, looking around.I could remember leaving the pack house and walking into this forest, the most Shocking thing was that there was none that I remember. How could I have stepped into a forest which I had no knowledge about?. I have never been here before. I paused, looking around me, probably to find clues or see where I had come from, or what was going on around me. However, That was when I saw them.A group of men stepped out from behind the trees, one by one. There were ten of them, no shirts, just bare chests covered in stran

James pov. It was morning and I stepped out of the barracks, the morning sun pressing gently on my skin. The sky was clear, with soft clouds drifting lazily above.Yes it was another day, another day to go about my daily work.I raised my head, my eyes focusing on the clouds. I squinted up at them for a moment, but my thoughts weren’t on the weather, my thoughts were occupied, they were occupied with something else, something important. They were on Auren. Again. It had been seven long days since he was taken. Seven days since he was taken right in front of me. We have Been carrying out little searches, to see if we could find him or stress get a clue of where he was. The only hope we had was the rogues but since He had managed to get away, we have been stranded with nowhere to look. As I walked down the dirt path between the warrior quarters, I could hear the familiar sounds of training, grunts, shouts, and the sharp clanging of metal. It reminded me of that same day, that very

Silas’ pov. The sound of hot air flowing into my mouth sounded as I sat alone in the large hall of my castle, my fingers wrapped around my tobacco pipe. The room was silent, quiet, the air was heavy with silence And also with the scent of smoke. I took another slow drag from my tobacco pipe and let it out in the air, watching the gray mist curl and float toward the high ceiling. The fire crackled in the hearth nearby, but it did nothing to warm the cold stone floor beneath my boots.I leaned backwards, taking another drag From the pipe, the taste of smoke seemed to get better and better with every drag I took. My throne sat on a raised platform at the end of the hall. Velvet red carpets lined the path leading to it, of course this was how I liked it to be, it fits my taste perfectly. The openings on the wall were covered with tall windows which let in rays of moonlight, which cast long shadows across the room. Leaning back on my chair, I relaxed slowly, letting the silence wrap
