Chapter 2 Not impossible

Luna Cruz poked at the sesame leaves on her plate with a dejected look, causing the delicate greenery to become a disheveled mess. Even the walnut kernels and ham slices were not spared as she jabbed them into a sorry state.

"Luna, are you feeling down? Do you not like this restaurant?"

Danny asked tentatively.

They had been maintaining this kind of relationship for about half a year, and Luna Cruz had uncovered his preferences both in and out of bed. However, he still didn't know much about her. Any questions he asked her would only result in replies like "it's alright," "it's fine," or "I don't mind."

Luna Cruz waved her hand dismissively and replied, "Why would I? The food here is quite good. I'm just worried about today's interview."

After finishing the bread and appetizers, the waiter cleared the empty plates and brought two perfectly seared steaks to the table.

Daniel Quinn effortlessly cut his steak into bite-sized pieces and swapped them with Luna Cruz's portion.

It was hard to imagine that Daniel Quinn from half a year ago was a rebellious young boy who had people fawning over him wherever he went. How could he now be so considerate and attentive to others?

Luna still had no appetite, and even the beef, which should have been tender and juicy, tasted like a culinary snooze button to her.

"Luna, why are you worried? You're so talented, and your resume is perfectly tailored to the gaming industry. It would be a loss for Creation Players not to hire you!"

While beauty is in the eye of the beholder, objectively speaking, Luna Cruz excelled in her academic performance, earning national awards year after year. She had also interned at two major gaming companies, making her an exceptional college student.

Luna Cruz's eyes exuded a sense of bitterness.

Creation Players had been around for less than two years but was already a dark horse in the domestic gaming industry, releasing several hit games in succession and amassing a fortune. Rumor had it that the company's founder had been a top-tier hacker, and he had returned to China just in time to capitalize on the gaming industry boom.

Luna Cruz had been quite confident about this interview originally, if not for the unexpected incident today. Who could have guessed that the exceptional Mr. M she encountered on the subway would turn out to be the big boss of the company she was interviewing with? Even if she had figured out his particular kinks, it would have been fine just secretly to enjoy that knowledge. Why did she have to hand him her business card?

Just thinking about how Mr. Quinn had been smiling from start to finish during the interview today made Luna Cruz want to cry.

If he offered her the job after all this, it would truly be a miracle!

But how could she possibly share these thoughts with her adorable little puppy?

Luna Cruz tilted her head and glanced at Daniel Quinn's face. His eyes were captivating as if they were radiating light when he looked at her. Her gaze became more profound, finally settling on a spot of sauce near the corner of his mouth.

It seemed like she wanted to eat something more.

"Master, why are you looking at me like that?"

Daniel Quinn's wheat-colored cheeks blushed slightly. He knew exactly what Luna Cruz's gaze meant, yet he still chose to ask, playing along with her game.

Little Danny was quite skilled.

Beneath the thick tablecloth, a slender and agile foot slipped out, like a sensuous and nimble snake. It precisely and quickly targeted the man's groin area across from her.

Daniel Quinn let out a muffled groan, instinctively gripping the tablecloth with his hands. The muscles in his back tensed considerably, making the white shirt he had deliberately worn for the date appear even more taut, revealing his youthful and appealing muscle contours.

Even though he was the only one who considered it a date.

"Master, no.... not here" he gasped.

It's not that it couldn't happen, but it shouldn't happen here.

Although words were spoken this way, Luna Cruz could feel the touch beneath her foot transition from soft to firm. Even through a layer of thick trousers, she could still feel the heat exchanged between their skins.

Despite saying no to her, his body was rather honest.

Luna Cruz continued to feign innocence and forked a piece of beef into her mouth. This time, the flavor seemed much more enjoyable.

Amid Daniel Quinn's surprised gaze, she summoned the waiter over. Their table was originally tucked away in a corner, so even if she played with his penis under the tablecloth, no one would notice. However, if someone came closer, it wouldn't be as discreet.

Daniel Quinn assumed that Luna Cruz was just teasing him, so he hung his fuzzy head and let go of the tablecloth, his hands going limp.

How can you do this here?

In the case of just the two of them, he wouldn't mind whatever antics she got up to. However, if their relationship were to be exposed to the public, that would be a whole different matter.

Daniel Quinn's heart was filled with despair. Half of it was because he knew that Luna Cruz would never reciprocate the same level of feelings, and the other half was because even in this inappropriate situation, his breathing grew heavier.

As if he were welcoming her advances.

As if he genuinely enjoyed being treated like a dog by Luna Cruz.

"Excuse me, I'd like to order some tiramisu. It's my friend's birthday today, and if you have candles, please bring some over."

Daniel Quinn raised his head, distracted, and foolishly asked her,

"Master, how did you know it's my birthday today?"

Luna Cruz retracted her foot and smiled, saying,

"It's a secret."

The waiter brought the cake and candles and kindly wished the flushed young man, "Happy birthday."

Daniel Quinn felt incredibly uneasy. He hurriedly inserted a slender candle into the tiramisu and lit it with a match. He hesitated but finally asked,

"Master, do you think what I did was wrong?"

"What's wrong?" Luna Cruz replied.

"It's just that, I brought you here under pretenses to celebrate my birthday."

In truth, it couldn't even be considered deception because Daniel Quinn never intended to tell Luna Cruz that today was his birthday.

He didn't need gifts, well-wishes, or even for her to know. He simply wanted Luna Cruz by his side on this most special day of the year.

Luna Cruz stood up, moved around to Daniel Quinn's back, held his hand, and lit the candle.

Outside the window, the night is deep, and the city is ablaze with countless lights.

She embraced him from behind. He felt he was in an illusion that there were only the two of them in the world.

"How could I blame you for that? If anything, I should blame myself for not preparing a birthday gift for you yet."

Daniel Quinn didn't need a gift from her. He waved his hand.

However, Luna bent down and whispered in his ear,

“So, the rest of tonight is the gift I give you. How about that?”
