Wedding day

"Scarlett's point of view,"

The repeated alarms jolted me awake. Today is the big day—my wedding.

Like most women, I had many fantasies about my future husband. Alas, fate had other plans for me, and I shall be married to a devil instead of a prince.

Do you still have the same perspective on him? My subconscious begs me to overlook Samuel's prior transgression of his recent good deeds, but my heart is in no way prepared to do so.

For the sake of my mother and my unborn child, I am getting married to him. Again, I reaffirmed my purpose in my mind.

But what if you developed feelings for him after getting married?

Samuel Oscar looks unmistakably like a Greek god. In front of him, a flurry of female bodies is always in motion. He can hypnotize any female with just one look. But it has been challenging for me to feel affection for him after the horrible form I saw him in that evening.

"Miss Neve, good morning." My phone's display flashed an unknown number.

I struggled to say good morning as I opened my mouth.

What is nice about this morning, after all? I don't love the man I'm getting married to, even if he's the father of my child.

"Are you still not ready? There are only 1.3 hours until 11 o'clock."

Oh no, how did I get so much sleep today? The impending shifts in my life must have kept me up late last night.

It's time for me to get up and get ready.

"Mr. Oscar, I'll shortly arrive at the church." I responded, gulping down my saliva.

I have no idea what kind of response he would deliver under what circumstances.

"No problem; you can take your time getting ready and eating breakfast. My driver will be there to pick you up soon."

I was relieved to hear his calm response and said, "Ok."

"I don't want my kid to go hungry for too long, so Scarlett, please eat a delicious breakfast." After listening to his cheesy talk, I flushed.

Does he truly care that much?

I told you that you would soon fall in love with him. Once more, my subconscious interrupted me.

All of this won't happen, so stop talking trash.

I instantly jumped out of bed and headed for the restroom. I had always intended to purchase the wedding dress of my dreams, but Samuel assured me that he would handle all the planning himself, relieving me of all responsibility. And since I don't have enough money, I won't be able to dress myself to his standards.

I get ready for the day in a cozy pink dress and have breakfast. Samuel's driver arrived quickly to pick me up. Across the street from the church, he dropped me off at Samuel's place. My wedding dress and the makeup artist were already there.

She styled my waist-length hair into a ringlet ponytail and barely touched up my facial makeup. My jaw dropped when I saw my wedding gown. The nicest gown I've ever seen is this one. Such a stunning gown has never before appeared in a magazine. The bridal dress was covered in white pearl embroidery. Like the bridal gown, my gloves were encrusted with pearls. The solitaire necklace and earrings further accentuated the gown's beauty.

When I saw myself in the mirror getting ready as a bride, I did not recognize myself.

"Are you sure it's me?"

I questioned myself as I regarded my image in the mirror.

"Yes, Miss Neve, you do indeed have a lovely appearance."The makeup artist gave me compliments.

"Mr. Oscar is incredibly fortunate to have a lady like you."

"Really?" I disagree with the makeup artist.

Samuel made a great choice; I never would have imagined such a stunning wedding dress. But I couldn't help but wonder why he bought me flat slippers. If I can handle heels so easily, what was the point of choosing flat slippers?

"Do you know that Mr. Oscar designed these flat slippers for you, Miss Neve?" While wearing slippers on my feet, the woman in front of me said,

"What, but why?" I asked in a perplexed tone.

"Mr. Oscar didn't want you to wear heels to the wedding because he didn't want your kid to suffer in any manner."

Does Samuel care that much? The fact that my child has a father like Samuel is unquestionably a great blessing.

I previously warned you that Samuel is so empathetic that you won't be able to resist falling in love with him.

He is not doing this for me; rather, it is for his child. I once again restrained my subconscious from babbling rubbish.

When I emerged from the apartment, all dressed for the wedding, his driver was there waiting for me.

My heart began to beat rapidly as soon as I arrived in front of the church.

Have I made the right choice by choosing to marry Samuel?

The driver popped the door open and assisted me in alighting from the car. Before entering the church, I reconsidered my decision.

There was no other option in front of me now that the church entrance was open but to go inside. Perhaps I made the best choice possible; perhaps Samuel Oscar was meant for me to meet him. I completely trust God's verdict.

I inhaled deeply before walking into the chapel. There were already a lot of guests in the church.

Everyone looked toward the church's entrance. I was feeling quite uneasy since so many people were looking at me.

"Scarlett, you look stunning. If your father were still alive, it would overjoy him to see you."

I gave my mom a forehead kiss and said, "Thank you, mom."

Samuel made special arrangements to bring my mother to the church. To care for my mom, a group of specialized medical professionals from the hospital arrived.

Will you continue to have the same opinion about Samuel? My subconscious was making inquiries.

My face suddenly started to become warm. Samuel was standing close to the priest as I turned to look around. Samuel was staring at me nonstop, and it was making me very nervous.

His champagne blue tuxedo complemented the hue of his eyes, and the suit's fit on his frame was flawless. His neatly styled, flawlessly coiffed hair, polished shoes, and silver Rolex watch all contributed to his attractiveness.

I was taking cautious steps in his direction when I noticed the woman occupying the front seat. Why do I have the impression that I've seen this woman before?

"See, I told you Samuel would surely marry you." She said it with a smile.

Yes, this is the same woman I met in the hospital that day, but how is she related to Samuel? Had I erred by disclosing every detail about us to this stranger that day? I was trying to weigh the woman on the scales of good and bad as I stared at her while she stood in front of me.
