Grace's PovThe guard dragged me through a dimly lit hallway, and when we passed the room I was supposed to enter, I knew something was wrong. My heart hammered hard in my chest, fear gripping me instantly. Where is he taking me to? What did the man mean by it is time to let Silvano Morelli see his woman? What is he going to do?I started struggling against his hold. I wanted to break free and run. I might not go far but I wanted to try.I managed to get my hand on the guard's hand and bite so hard. At impulse, he released me and held his hand. I turned and ran away from him to the opposite side. But I didn't go far when I felt my clothes pulled from behind and a tearing sound. My eyes grew big as I felt warm air on my back. “*Where do you think you are going? “Please. Let me go. I won't tell anybody anything. I will keep my eyes shut,” I pleaded with the guard. He looked at me for a brief second before dragging me back. “*Come on bitch*” he said and dragged me to a heavy metal
Grace's PovI couldn't sleep.I couldn't think too.It was like a part of me didn't exist anymore. I couldn't remember anything that looked like a code or even a password. Dad never came to tell me anything about it. If he had, I would remember but there was nothing to remember. I turned on the narrow and manageable mattress offering a little comfort to me than the dumpster room I was in before. The room was silent as I stared into space, trying to think harder, but the silence wasn't helping much. The silence was oppressive and I could only hear my faint heartbeat.I thought back to a few days before Dad died. There was nothing unusual about him, and he didn't say anything unusual either. If he thinks my dad told his daughter a key code and it isn't me then it is Soph. But he doesn't know about her so he thinks it is me. At the same time, it might be her, he was so sure it was me. And if his key code was so important and dangerous, Dad won't risk our lives especially Soph’s l
Silvano's Pov I lit a cigarette and took a long drag from it before releasing the smoke into the air as I played with the gun on my desk in front of me, my mind absent from reality. It has been over five days and Grace was still missing. There was no trace of her anywhere except Luca's speculation that she was flown to Poland. There hasn't been any call to let me know where she was taken, why she was taken, what they want in exchange for her, or if she is still alive. Just nothing! And it was killing me.I want to know she is alive and alright. I want her back in my house, I want her back in my arms. And that is why I am going to find her myself. I don't know who took her or why they did but I know I have enemies. Enemies that didn't know I had a weakness until Grace. And I am going to find them. I am going to let them know what they experience when they mess with me or my girl. My office door pulled open and my eyes fell on Giovanni. “The men and cars are ready,” he said and I
Grace's Pov “H-h, how do you know my father is dead?” I asked. He made a sound with his teeth. “You are not the only one who knows how to hide things. Your father also hid a lot of things” he said. How did he know my father? He can't be my dad's friend because Dad brought his friends home. So how did he know him?Or was he bluffing? He might be trying to know things about my family because he didn't get anything about them. He is trying to get into my head. “My dad is the most honest man I know on the face of the earth. There is no way you would know my father.” I said. He narrowed his eyes on me while a cruel smile appeared on his lips. “You poor thing. You know nothing. But there is something you do know,” he said and left my chair. He went back to his seat and continued eating like he wasn't just at my back. My eyes remained on him as he ate. He looked up at me and pointed to my food. I remember what Mila told me and I slowly took back my spoon and continued eating even th
Grace's Pov.I walked in behind the guard as he led me to the dining room, where the man from earlier was waiting for me. My attention was on the doors and the pathway we walked. It might come in handy. We entered a brighter room and the guard left my front to the side of the door.My eyes fell on a big table which had different types of food on it. I moved my eyes and met the eyes of the man that came to see me earlier. “Wow, you look stunning,” he said, walking closer to me. “The cloth complements you well, I must say,” I didn't say anything. I just glared at him. He stretched a hand for me to place mine on but I ignored him and walked past him. I stopped in front of the table and noticed there were three plates and cutlery on the table. “Seat. We have a lot to discuss.” His tone changed, and he sat at the head of the table. I pulled the chair slowly before setting myself down. A middle-aged woman came and started serving him, all the while his eyes never leaving mine. I w
Grace's pov“Who am I meeting?” I asked and she stopped and looked at me. “I don't know. I just have to get you ready,” she said and looked at the dress on the bed. “You need to get dressed now,” I took the cloth and went inside the bathroom. I heard her laugh before I closed the bathroom door. I wasn't going to get naked in front of a stranger and get dressed. Yes, she was the nicest I have come across since I was brought but I wasn't still going to let her see all of me. I wore the dress and ran my hands on the cloth. It was soft and comfortable. It fell just on my knee. Thankfully the chest cut wasn't too low.I stepped out of the bathroom and she looked at me over. “You have a nice body for a dress. I guess you dressed more in dresses,” she said. I sat down on the chair, she tapped on and said. “No. I only wear dresses when I need to,” she hummed in response. She didn't say anything and only began brushing my damp hair with slow strokes.“Where are you from?” I asked again
