Chapter 4

In the temple where all marriage rights of the royal family are always held, guests and relatives who are to witness the wedding have arrived. The whole place was silent, not even the sound of a pin could be heard, no one dared to whisper because this was not just an ordinary wedding but because the man sitting in the grooms chair was the Baron of Westland, the one rumored to be the devil himself, unforgiven, the one that kills without thinking twice and possesses the most powerful beast ever.

Damian tapped his hand patiently on the armrest of the chair he sat on, he wasn’t the king but the chair he sat on was higher compared to that of the king.

Damian glanced at the chair where his bride is supposed to sit and his face darkened more when he saw that it was still empty even when it had been an hour since everyone arrived.

Following the gaze of his Baron, Arthur, the Baron's right hand man, asked, “Do you want me to go find out what has taken them long, Baron?”

Instead of responding l, Damian focused his hearing and vision to her chamber but could not see or hear anything. This had happened before ten years ago when he tried to search for her when he could not find her in the forest after losing her. He thought maybe it was because he hadn’t yet mastered his hearing abilities and super vision but now it was happening again.

He knows about her abilities, but is it able to resist his?

He focused his mind on the king and queen and overheard the moment they made mention of Althea’s unwillingness to go through with the marriage rights, his eyes snapped open and blazed with fire. First she has tried to run away and now she was delaying to come out for the marriage rites? His fist clenched

Was it because she didn’t know it was him? He remembered that ten years ago he had failed to tell her who he really was, that he was going to be the next Baron? That will be it, she doesn’t know it is him.

He stood up making everyone present to be in alert

“Baron”

“I will bring her here myself”

Lucio bowed his head and didn’t say another word

Once she sees him, she will remember him and the promise she had forced him to make ten years ago, Damian thought as he made his way out of the temple. Every step he took made the heart of those in the temple to beat faster and their breath seized.

Back in the princess chamber, Althea was still unwilling, thinking about how her life will turn out if she decides to walk out of this chamber to the temple, her legs unmoving.

Lydia checked the door occasionally if anyone was coming in worry “Your highness, it’s past time, please let’s go” Lydia said in panic

As much as she didn’t want her princess to marry such a man, she didn’t want anything bad to happen to her either.

Althea looked at her maid with eyes wet with tears “I……. can’t”

Lydia signed and walked closer to her “Your highness, this is the only way you can live, if you don’t go willingly, he will force you to do so and that will thus make things harder for you”

Althea bite on her lips hard making blood to come out “I….. need to prepare my mind”

Lydia stood up and walked to the door to check if anyone was coming and when she peeped and saw the figure dressed in all black coming from afar, she widened her eyes and covered her mouth not to shout.

She slowly walked back to the princess and knelt on the ground then held her hand.

Althea stared at her hand that was held and then at the scared face of her maid “What is it?”

“He is here, you have to get up so we can go”

“Who is here?”

“The Baron”

Althea swallowed and she held her garment tightly with her other hand “Then I think I need to have a one on one conversation with him, I need to ask why he is doing this”

Lydia widened her eyes “Oh noooo!! He is not someone to have such a conversation with so please get up let’s head out” Lydia said in panic.

“Bang!!”

Althea had opened her mouth to speak but jumped in freight when she heard the door being pushed open with force.

Lydia also jumped up in fear “The Baron is here” Lydia whispered.

Althea looked towards the door as she anticipated to see the face of the Baron.

Demian walked into the living room of her chamber with his dark gaze fixed on her.

Althea’s eyes widened when she saw the Baron, everyone has given their various discriptions and opinions about the man that is to marry her but now that she was thinking about it, no one gave a description of how he looked.

As much as she was scared right now by his gaze and intimidated by his aura, she could not deny the fact that he was good looking.

“Get out” Demain commanded

Lydia ran out immediately in horror

Althea swallowed, she grapped her garment more tightly. She had long stood on her feet since the moment the door was pushed open with force.

Every step he took towards her with his gaze on her made it feel like her heart was about to jump out of her chest.

Seeing how she just stared at him in fear with no sign of familiarity or realization in her eyes, made him frown.

Did she not remember him?” The thought of her not remembering him made his face dark.

Demain tried to touch her face the moment he got close to her but she quickly moved her face away and stepped back in fear.

“Althea” he called making her to raise her head and look at him with fear still in her eyes. He doesn’t want her to look at him in that way.

“You don’t remember me?”

Althea was confused, is she supposed to remember him?

Seeing the confused look on her face, Damian didn’t need another confirmation to know she didn’t remember him. But how come she doesn’t? Although she was ten at that time, but she is old enough to remember all that happened.

“How come you don’t remember me?”

“I………….don’t understand?” Althea was confused.

Damian just stared at her in silence

Seeing that he wasn’t saying anything, she decided to speak “Why me, why choose to wed me? You don’t know me, so why?

“I don’t know you? Damian frowned

“I can’t marry you”

His fist clenched, his eyes changed from the usual dark to red

The moment Althea saw this, she almost fell down in shock but he was quick to hold her left wrist.

“It’s either you obediently follow me to the temple or I take you there by force”

Althea panicked, her whole body trembled “Please” she said as tears rolled down her eyes.

Her tears made him more furious “This marriage will happen even if you do not remember me anymore. I have being waiting for ten years for this day so it’s either you move it princess or I take you there by force, choose.
