Jovan's Ability

Tonight's event was one of the most hated things to do for Alka. Walking alone in an abandoned building at night only made himself scared more than at noon. He can see things since he was a kid, but he never get used to seeing them, especially when it gets dark. But Alka have to do it to gain popularity for his blog and social media. It's not like he'll do anything to be popular. Sometimes he'll refuse the job offered by some brands who wanted him to be their brand ambassador, because he thought it will cause a long term problems for him.

Alka just don't feels right to walk in to that building tonight. His body's tired. The back ache haven't got any better and he couldn't take a rest. And, the person who made him like that is really close to him. Alka didn't know what to do to him. He hated him, but he can't really express his anger.

"Alka, are you really okay to do this? You know, after everything that happened.... And you barely had rest today," said Jovan, looked worried about Alka.

"Yeah, Al. Maybe we should stop for today. I think you're not in a good conditions, you looked pale," Iko responded.

Alka understand that they're worried about him. Deep in his heart, he also worried about his safety tonight. Even if the necklace protect him from evil spirit, it can't help him from seeing scary entities. Besides, if a ghost noticed Alka's power when he's at his weak point, doesn't matter it's evil or not, the ghost could take over Alka's body.

"No... We have to finished it tonight. We're below schedule, Iko," said Alka, refused the idea to pending the show.

I have to do this. I don't want to meet Jovan anymore. Please, be strong, Al... thought Alka.

"How about you go with Jovan, I'll go by myself?" suggest Iko.

"I'd rather go with you than with him," refused Alka.

"No, you can't. You're much safer if go with him than with me. He have a strong power to exorcise evil spirit."

"True. You liked it or not, I'm going to take you anyways," Jovan said, "But Iko, are you brave enough to explore the building alone?"

"Euhm, as long as I don't see or hear anything, I'll be alright."

"Wait, I do not agree about this."

Jovan cut Alka's word and asked Iko to go inside first. Alka finally gave up. If Jovan really wanted to go with Alka, then he just need to be patience. After a little preparation--go pro mounted on Iko's body and he took a flashlight, Iko get inside the building, leaving Jovan and Alka behind.

"Wish me luck, Guys," he said.

"Be careful, Buddy," Alka answered.

They're going to meet in the most spacious area in the third floor of the building. There are a sack of pure salt and Iko have to make a big circle with the salt, light a candle, and sit while waiting for the other two.

Meanwhile, there was a long silent between Alka and Jovan after Iko left them. They sat on the ground outside the building. After two minutes, they have to go inside and meet Iko as promised. But while they're waiting, Alka seems didn't want to talk to Jovan at all. Until Jovan gave him a bottle of mineral water.

"Drink some water," Jovan said.

Alka took the bottle and take a sip.

"Now, may I?" Jovan asked for Alka's hand, but the other guy just stare at him. "I'm going to try to send you my energy, so that you won't lure them to get near you."

Finally, Alka gave Jovan his hand, and Jovan stroke his other hand to Alka's back. "Close your eyes, try to focus on my energy."

Alka did what Jovan asked. As he tried to focus, he felt something tingling from his back, and his hand felt warmer. After a while, Alka's body felt lighter than before.

"Feeling better?" asked Jovan.

"Yeah. Thanks," Alka answered him with low voice.

"Come on. We have to get inside."

Alka nodded.

"You know what, Alka? I really love spending my time with you. I don't want us to fight for too long," Jovan said, after they got inside the building.

"Then, answer my questions, then I'll decide wether forgive you or not."

"So, you think it's my fault?"

"Mostly. You got me drunk last night." Alka starred at Jovan for a second.

"Okay, fine. What's your questions?" Jovan asked.

"Are you gay?"

"... Maybe, yes. I am."

"Do you know me the whole time, even before the meeting at the club? So that's why you gave me a drink and talked to me?"

"I've been your blog reader for three years. I'm happy when Iko called me to assist you in this event."

"How come I didn't know you and what you do?"

"Well, I have three fake name, depends on what it's needed for," Jovan answered.

"Are you sure what you do the whole time is legal? You're not a fraud, right?" Alka shouted.

"Of course it's legal. I took law school a few years ago. And I'm a counselor, if you forgot. You can check my name online."

Alka went silent for a moment. They're reaching the second floor and somehow the atmosphere is heavier at night. Alka started to feel uneasy.

"Something here, isn't it? I can feel it," asked Jovan.

"What? You can't see anything, but feels weird?"

"Uhuh. I can't see them clearly, but I can feel the differences between at noon and at night."

"Well, I don't see anything. Not yet," Alka turned to his right and Jovan followed him. They went to the stairs to the third floor. "Anyway... Why did you plunged into the psychic world?"

"I found out that sometimes there are cases that only can be solved with the help of the victim from the other world. Don't you think so? You've a case like that right? When a spirit got inside you and blurted out about how she died?"

"Ah, right... I once experienced something like that," When Alka stepped on the third floor, he suddenly stopped talking. His eyes caught something terrible not far from him. It's outside the circle that Iko made, while Iko sat in the center with a candle in front of him. Little did he know that he was being watched by a large man with black wings and red eyes. His head reached the ceiling, he has big and muscular body. Mostly he looked like human, but the wings, horn, evil eyes, and his big body were intimidating.

"Do you... Have your equipment with you?" Alka hissed.

"Well I don't need so many equipment. What is it? Something's really showed up?" asked Jovan.

"I... Never seen something like that," said Alka, panting. The winged man turned to him and smiles. Quite handsome though, but still gave Alka chill to the bones.

"Stop staring," Jovan stepped in front of Alka, watching him carefully, and touched his hand. As soon as he touched Alka, he could feel the intimidating atmosphere from behind. He reached his pocket, and took out a black prayer beads.

"It's okay, it's okay. I got you. Close your eyes and trust me," Jovan said.

A moment later, Alka went blacked out.
