Willow hadn't even finished his sentence when he noticed the unreadable look in Maria's eyes.

He paused, suddenly uneasy as he asked, "Mari, what's wrong?"

Only then did he remember that she had said she was going to use the final option to free herself from Richard.

Maria looked at him for a long time before speaking. "The reason I'm back is to pack my things. I'll be leaving soon."

Willow stared at her in disbelief. "So suddenly?"

Maria gave a faint smile. "I finally realized I can't keep dragging others into this. Haven't you noticed, Will? In the end, Richard will always target the people close to me."

Willow was silent for a moment, then said quietly, "Alright. I'll arrange for someone to take you away. But you were supposed to leave in a month, after the competition. You even said you wanted to see the result. Wouldn't it be a shame to leave at this moment?"

"I think so too, but I can't stand it any longer. Who knows what he'll do next to hurt me or the people around me?
