Laurel must be willing to lose her father who died in an accident, as a result of the careless actions of a rich kid who is reckless, as well as losing her mother who died due to illness. Everything could be solved with their money and Laurel was disgusted by it. However, the years passed and Laurel's life seemed so lucky, as if God had always given His love to Laurel, and she was grateful for it. Then, she met Aaron, a CEO who had succeeded at a young age with his own efforts. They fell in love, went through everything with a pleasant little drama, until they got married. Even so, the problems never end, until one day Laurel learns a striking truth. Aaron was that young man, the young man who drove so irresponsibly that her father died. All is revealed. All the conveniences that Laurel got, all came from Aaron who did it out of guilt. Meanwhile, Aaron, who initially did everything to get back at his sins in the past, actually fell in love with Laurel. Then, what is their next story? Will Laurel be willing to forgive Aaron or vice versa?
View More“You are so pathetic.” Aamber turned to the guy next to her, who happened to be her brother.
“None of your business.”
Amber snorted then took a sip from her can and placed it on the dashboard of the car. “Until when do you want to be like this? Until she becomes a granny and remains unaware of you?”
“Sshh!” Aaron did not even turn to face his younger sister sitting next to him, his gaze straight ahead, at the exit of a campus gate. Soon the figure he was looking for came out, with a sweet smile that he had already memorized, was joking with her friends.
“She smiled,” muttered Aaron in relief.
“Of course she smiled, she managed to graduate cum laude,” said Aamber angrily. “And guess what, it's because of who?”
“I don't want to discuss it.”
“Because of you! All because of your struggle.” Aamber ignored her brother's warnings and continued on. “And now you can't even congratulate her, instead peeking from afar like this. How pathetic!”
Aaron continued to stare at the figure until it was farther away, disappearing in the public transport she was riding in.
“She even still takes public transportation, I have to arrange a vehicle for her. So that she doesn't have to be tired of being hot on public transportation anymore.”
Those words made Aamber even more angry because her brother didn't pay attention to her words. “I will repeat once again, you are pathetic, brother. Until when do you punish yourself like this?”
Quiet. It seemed that Aaron did not think Aamber's question needed an answer. The two brother and sister were silent in the luxury car which was parked some distance from the campus, so as not to be conspicuous. Aaron was busy with his own thoughts, his thoughts drifting back to ten years ago, when he was only eighteen years old. Rich, handsome, powerful and ignorant of responsibility.

“This is my birthday gift car, only two in the country,” muttered Aaron proudly to his friends at that time.
All of his friends admired the red sports car that Aaron parked in the square. “Crazy, this car is so good for speeding!” exclaimed one of his friends.
“Of course, this is a sports car.”
“Come on, let's try driving!” said one of his other friends.
Aaron laughed proudly at the arrogance of his youth at that time. That night they got drunk and partied hard. That same night Aaron learns that momentary pleasure can sometimes claim the lives of innocent people. In a drunken state, the car he was driving crashed into a taxi traveling slowly in the opposite lane. The taxi driver, an old man who didn't know anything, died instantly.
Of course all problems can be resolved quickly. Aaron's father was a very influential businessman because of his wealth and abundant power. There is no question why Aaron is driving his vehicle in a drunken state, bail has been prepared. Aaron himself was more worried at the time than thinking about the dead old taxi driver. After all, the taxi driver had better luck dying immediately, not feeling the pain he did.
The spleen was hit hard, it was swollen, so it needed special care and medication and the pain was beyond measure. Even Aaron had time to blame the taxi driver who he thought was insolent. How could he be on the road opposite himself to get him hit? All problems were quickly resolved by his father. Aaron was immediately sent to Singapore for treatment.
Until six months after the accident, he returned to Indonesia. Her mother, a Spanish woman who has lived in the country since marrying Aaron's father, reminded him, “You never wanted to know about them?” asked his mother at that time.
Aaron, who at that time felt bored because he still had to rest at home and couldn't leave the house, looked at his mother angrily. “What for, Mom? Didn't Dad give them a decent allowance? Maybe a lot more than the taxi driver could have produced while he was alive.” Pride made his voice loud.
His mother shook her head. “The taxi driver has a grieving wife and a child who still needs school fees. Aren't you sorry for that little kid's loss, Aaron?”
Aaron was annoyed at what his mother said. “What do you really want from Aaron?”
“I just want to feel a little relieved, I want you to go over there and apologize in person. Even so far only your father's employees have come there and take care of everything.”
Aaron sneered. “They are a poor family, if Aaron came there and showed remorse, maybe they would ask for more bail.”
“Then just give it. You took a father's life, Aaron. Whatever treasure you give, it will not be replaced.”
So Aaron came the next day, escorted by a driver in a luxury car. Of course he did not forget to carry a flower bouquet in his hand. It turned out that cars could not enter the complex, Aaron still had to walk through narrow alleys and neglected houses with a smell that disturbed his sense of smell. With disgust he looked at the mud on his expensive shoes, he was going to throw them away, he decided irritably.
It was a simple house, just down an alley, but it looked the cleanest of all the houses jostling up there. It appeared that someone was trying to put down tiny pots of roses to cover the ugly, sad fence in front of the house. When Aaron excused himself at the door, a teenage girl, perhaps several years below him appeared in the living room and gave him a suspicious look.
The girl was beautiful, was what Aaron thought the first time he saw her. Beautiful, with intelligent eyes, and even though she was only dressed modestly, still he couldn't help but be dazzled.
“Who are you?” asked the girl carefully.
Aaron put on his most dazzling smile, so far many women have been chasing him. He never doubted his charm. “I… I came here to apologize for the accident, sorry I just got here. I just returned from Singapore after undergoing medical treatment for injuries after the accident.”
Only that sentence he could get out. Because after that sentence, Aaron couldn't even clearly remember what happened. All he could remember was the girl's angry hysterical screams, the neighbors who had come to separate them because she suddenly attacked him with a continuous slap. Flowers were scattered, crushed, and threats filled with hatred came out of the little girl.
“Don't you ever dare show your rotten face in our faces! You despicable human being hiding behind your father's power, cowardly, irresponsible human! You think human lives can be replaced that easily with money? We are poor, but we have pride! So before you can show that you have pride, don't you dare show your face in front of us!”
That day, Aaron was told by a neighbor, that the girl's mother, who had fallen ill because she could not bear the pain, died overnight in a very ill condition, following her husband. That day, Aaron realized, that his actions had ruined the life of a family.
“They absolutely do not want to accept allowance money from this family, that's what feels stuck in my heart,” his mother gave Aaron a sad look.
“That girl hates me, Mom, this is the first time I have received such hateful looks.” Aaron is still in shock by the new incident he has experienced.
His mother just looked at him sadly. “The girl tragically lost her father and her mother too, what else could she do but to pour out hatred on you, the cause of all this?”
“She's alone and she doesn't want any help from us, so what should Aaron do, Mom?”
His mother stared at Aaron with the wisdom she had gained from her years of life. “Maybe you should start with yourself first, Aaron.”
When Aamber visited the next day, she saw the gleam of happiness on Laurel and Aaron's faces, and she was grateful in her heart. These two people were truly happy.Laurel was taking the cake out of the oven and placing it on the kitchen counter to cool it before slicing. The smell of strawberry and coconut cake filled the room. She got the recipe for the cake from Chris when they were on the island and only had time to practice it now.“Looks like you made it. I've tried Chris's recipe and it's a mess, the inside is still raw.” Aamber looked deliciously at the cake and inhale its aroma. “Hm, and it smells really good.”Laurel laughed seeing Aamber who looked like she wanted to taste the cake. “Let it cool first, otherwise your tongue will burn.”“I'll take the risk.” Amber didn't care. She sliced the cake and pushed it onto the plate, then carried the plate while blowing on it.Aaron was holding his daughter wh
They stood side by side in front of the graves of Laurel's parents. Aaron hugged her tightly in the serene silence. After that, without a word, Aaron placed the flower arrangements on her parents' graves.“What did you say to them?” Laurel looked at her husband tenderly as they walked home through the cemetery.Today Aurel turns two months old. Every month they visit the graves of Laurel's parents and lay flowers, praying for them.Aaron smiled and kissed her forehead gently. “Same words, that I apologize and promise to take good care of their daughter.”Laurel hugged him tightly. “You have done that promise very well.”“And I will continue to do so tirelessly,” he replied softly. They walked to their car and continued on their way home in silence. The atmosphere is too serene and beautiful to be broken by conversation.Arriving at home, Laurel went straight to the nursery. She looked at her daughter.
Aaron walked through the burial grounds, which he was very familiar with it. Earlier in the parking lot, he saw Aamber's car there. Therefore, his sister and Laurel really were here.He came here often, laid flowers on Laurel’s parents grave, and then spent hours there apologizing, begging them for forgiveness. His steps stopped when he saw two very familiar figures in the distance. That's Laurel and Aamber. Aaron quickened his pace only to find Aamber screaming in panic while trying to guide Laurel who was limping.“What’s happened?” Aaron asked quickly. Even so, when he saw Laurel's state, he immediately knew what had happened, even before Aamber explained it.“The amniotic fluid is ruptured!” Aamber screamed in panic. “We have to get her to the hospital right away, Aaron!”Aaron was pounding. Laurel was due to give birth soon and they were still here, in the middle of the vast cemetery, which to be had walke
“Don't lift that thing!” Aaron grabbed the small fruit basket that Laurel was carrying deftly. “For God's sake, Laurel, sit down! No need to help anything. Let Aamber and the servants take care of everything.”Standing there and on his hips, Aaron really looked like an arrogant boss who liked to order people, making Laurel's lips pout.“Aaron, I can carry myself! I'm sore because you told me to sit all day.”“You're heavily pregnant and your tiny body is tired of carrying your huge belly!” Aaron looked threateningly. “Sit down, Laurel, or I won't want to massage your feet anymore.”Of course, it's a lie. Aaron never forgot to massage Laurel's feet every night with a gentle essential oil, helping her get rid of her aches from having to carry around her growing womb. He also did not forget to help apply olive oil to his wife's stomach which was getting bigger.Today they are preparing the nu
Aamber came at noon to celebrate Laurel's return. She brought a giant teddy bear and flowers into the house.“I'm sorry I didn't see you at the hospital. I have a phobia of hospitals. Mom sends greetings to you; she had to fly back to Spain. Our aunt's condition is deteriorating and Mom wants to be there to take care of her.” Aamber looked at Laurel's stomach carefully. “Are you and my future nephew okay?”Laurel smiled. Aamber is very straightforward and funny. Laurel could probably be good friends with her. “He is fine.” She rubbed her belly affectionately. “Thank you for the flowers and doll.”“At first I was confused about what to buy. However, without realizing it, I was carrying this big teddy bear out of the shop.” Amber laughed. “By the way, where is Brother?”Laurel glanced at the second floor. “Aaron is taking a shower.”“Oh.” Aamber smiled gen
Laurel was stunned. She turned her head and stared at Aaron in silence. The man was looking down, not looking at her. His gaze lost in his own thoughts. “Do you know how I felt at that time?” Aaron smiled bitterly. “I came with all my arrogance and confidence, feeling powerful and having everything, feeling I could buy someone an apology, but I was wrong. You made me realize that time. When you said that I was a lowly human with no self-respect, hiding behind my father's power, you were absolutely right.” Aaron sighed. “I came home fully aware, like I was slapped to wake.” The man finally looked at Laurel with a look full of pain. “But I'm trying, Laurel, I'm trying so I can stand before you, with dignity. I tried my best. I founded my company as my proof to you. The company did not accept my father's interference at all. I started from scratch. And, yes, I did lie to you. I watched you from the start. Don't get me wrong, Laurel, I have absolutely no ill inte
That morning, as usual, Laurel helped bathe Alin's baby. It had been one week since she had stayed at Alin's house. Her best friend forbade her to leave first and she accepted the offer, considering her condition was not getting better. She always felt nauseous and wanted to throw up all the time. Her head sometimes felt dizzy and her condition had not even improved during the week she lived with Alin. The baby had been bathed and Alin gave him breast milk, while Laurel rearranged the baby's toiletries. As she bent down to put the towel into the laundry basket, a sudden pain shot through her lower abdomen. The excruciating pain made her groan as she clung to the towel rack beside her. “Laurel?” “It really hurts!” Laurel held her stomach that felt like it was being squeezed. The pain is excruciating. Alin placed her full and sleeping baby in the cradle, and then stepped closer to Laurel. “Come on, Laurel, maybe you're too tense and tired. Lie d
The news made Aaron's heart skip a beat. Laurel is pregnant; Laurel is pregnant with his child. They will have a baby together. Aaron immediately drove his car, half-speeding towards Laurel's dorm. He couldn't wait to meet her, make sure his wife and baby-to-be were all right. Whatever happens, he will keep this marriage. The baby further strengthens his reason for fighting to get Laurel back. He hopes that Laurel will at least give him a chance. He parked his car in front of the hostel carefully. Several students passing by on the street turned to look at him, some of them couldn't even take their eyes off him. The hostel is indeed close to the famous campus in this city; so many students pass by with various matters. Aaron is indeed worth seeing twice. His handsomeness is very exotic and flashy, so it attracts people's attention. Today he wore casual jeans and a matching shirt and wore a knitted vest that beautifully wrapped his body. His broad ches
“You have to eat Laurel.” Aunt Sarah placed a plate of still hot food in front of Laurel. “Let's give it a try even if it's just a few bites.” Laurel glanced at the food on the plate. The food was delicious and, if she weren’t feeling dizzy, the sweet smell would surely make her salivate. However, at that time Laurel felt dizzy and did not want to eat. Nevertheless, she saw Aunt Sarah looking at her expectantly. The woman who is like her mother must have gone to the trouble of cooking this meal for her. Laurel did not want to disappoint her. Just to please Aunt Sarah, she ended up taking the plate and taking a bite of her food. Her stomach, which had not been filled all day, greeted her with an overwhelming feeling of nausea. However, Laurel held it back. She continued to eat the food for up to three bites, and then gave up, staring at Aunt Sarah with an apologetic look. “I am so sorry, Auntie.” Aunt Sarah smiled and nodded understandingly. “I
