I wake up in the middle of the night to stir from the bed; I see Millie sitting up and rubbing her eyes before looking around, as if trying to process where she is.

With a groan, she gets off the and steps on my arm. I grunt and she screams out.

‘’Christ Millie,’’ I say.

She reaches for the lamp beside the bed and turns it on, causing the light to flood the room and my eyes to burn.

She raises a brow at me, and I know to her it must be priceless to see a wealthy man like myself sleeping on the floor with the blanket up to my chin.

‘’Why did you sleep on the floor?’’ she asks.

‘’I didn’t know if you wanted me in bed with you.’’

‘’Hmm,’’ I grumble and turn my back to her.

I was eager to come back here to see Millie, but instead, I find out that she was out with Richard. And even though I have no right to be jealous, I can’t help it but I don’t understand why I have such feelings for her.
