"Luca," I look up, my eyes widening when I realize she has been speaking to me.

"Yes, mother." Even though she has stepped down from her Luna position after our father retired and I became alpha, she still has that commanding aura of a leader and she doesn't fail to use it.

I don't answer to her but she is still my mother and that gives her some type of leverage.

"You have been ignoring the council's calls." It wasn't a question and she damn well knows the answer to that.

"I don't remember, I've been ignoring a lot of calls from a lot of people," I'm not even trying to be smart with her.

Having and keeping two very busy identities isn't easy, and also with having to deal with the damn press that won't simply fucking leave me alone.
