Chapter Three

In a blink of an eye, I saw them walking toward the car while holding each other's hands. Out of curiosity, I sat up and adjusted my scarf and sunshade.

" Bestie! " Michelle grinned and clasped her face against mine. I forced a smile at her, trying to decipher why she was acting unduly bizarre.

" Meet Henry."

I perked up at the dude, this time I was able to get a good glance at him. Damn! He is way too handsome seeing him at a close range. His bushy hair and beard gave him that sexy-ass look any girl would kill for. Excluding myself because he appeared to be intimate with my best friend. " Hi, Henry!"

" Hi, you must be Gabrielle," Henry said stretching out his hand.

I reciprocated his handshake and we shook hands slowly. I diverted my eyes to Michelle. We had agreed to not disclose my identity to anyone but it seems someone did the opposite of what we agreed on. I guess she sensed my mood and decided to come forward.

" Henry is my fiancee." She grinned at me, flashing her perfect dentition.

How on earth did I not know about her said fiancee?

Henry was purely the opposite of Michelle's kind of man, or as she puts it ' her dream man. he looked way too weird and I notice he would often smile when Michelle does.

"It's so nice to finally meet you, Henry" I smiled at him and he smiled back.

" you too, Gabby."

" He will be coming with us to the mall and will be joining us for shopping." Michelle grinned at me. I only nodded, with a smile. I moved over to the back seat, so I could give them some space and they could have their moment. I leaned into the leader seat and heaved a sharp sigh.

Throughout the trip to the mall, it was all giggling and mumbling. Most times some are silent nothing but repetitive eye contact. It was getting more weird than I anticipated.

************

Finally, we arrived at the mall and I didn't wait for another second before jumping out of the car, covering my face nicely with my scarf and sunshade.

The mall was unusually crowded, people had their phones out, screaming and dragging each other out of the way to get a glimpse of what of the mall. Hell! Why won't they get inside? I rolled my eyes and took a few steps forward. Michelle had parked the car at a good spot while I waited for them.

" I think a celebrity is in there," Michelle muttered from behind me.

" whatever. Let's go in."

We walked to the entrance, after pushing through the crowd and their sweaty bodies. Eww!

" No one is allowed in." The bouncer at the entrance stopped me. I could feel his eyes piercing through my skin. I ignored how intimidated I was by his physical appearance. It wouldn't take anything in him to squeeze the life out of me.

" I want to get some new clothes for myself, and if I can recall vividly, this mall is open for everyone," I said nonchalantly. I didn't care how gruff he looked, I still had to go in.

" don't you watch the news lady? My boss Cole Manchester is in there. No one goes in until he did and out of the mall, except you are a public figure like he is."

My blood was boiling at that moment, I can feel my veins popping out of my forehead already. " you want to know who I am?"

He whirled his eyes and nudged his colleague to come to laugh at me. It got me so pissed off, that I want to smack his big face and kick him right in the nuts. " No, move backward ma'am"

I gasp. Did he just call me ma'am? If there is one thing a lady hates, it's being called ma'am by some bouncer anywhere.

Without thinking, I took off my scarf and sunshade, I could hear the gasp from the crowd. The bouncers had this stunned expression on their faces as I took off my scarf and sunglasses.

Murmuring began to erupt from the crowd. That was when I realized that I have messed up big time. I could have avoided everything if I had just walked away. There are tons of malls in the city, I could have just turned around and left but I decided to lose my cool.

" We are sorry ma'am, please step forward."

" Not ma'am, miss," I said as I climbed onto my scarf while I walked into the mall. I could still hear the murmuring, chuckling, or sort of chattering both the good and bad ones. I try to stop the tears that were almost falling down my cheeks.

A hand wrapped around my shoulder and squeezed it softly. My gaze turned to the person's face, it was Michelle smiling down at me. Yeah down. Michelle is way taller than I am, she is 6ft while I am 5ft4.

"I got you bestie" she winked at me.

I shot her a smile and reached for my purse. I pulled out my credit card." Here, use this to get whatever you want, I took a few steps forward and attempted to place it in her hand, but she shook her head and moved backward.

" No, you will need it more than would. Have fun Gab! " she tucked her hand into Henry's and they walked away.
