Grace's POV
I woke up with a bad headache, I sat up and looked around the strange room. Sun filtered through the large window and it felt like a dream for a second. Where am I? I can't remember coming here and I can only thank the alcohol for that. I sat hurriedly when the rest of the sleep slipped away from me. The ruffled beddings and my scattered clothes on the floor made my eyes widened in terror. What the hell have I done? Slowly, the snippets from the previous night started coming back. “Ahhhh!” I screamed into my hands, but the deal is done and I have to get out of here fast. I was crazy yesterday thanks to the alcohol running through my veins. I gathered my things up and walked out the room, hoping no one would see me. “Good morning Miss” A cleaning maid greeted me, startling me. I let out a chuckle and responded with a rigid good morning before I finally bolted out the door. *** Why is the door opened? I said to myself as I walked into my apartment. I walked cautiously inside, nothing is out of place. "Where were you last night? Lisa said from the couch, scaring the hell out of me. "Really?! Why didn't you tell me you were here" I almost peed my pants scared as fuck when I met my door open" I replied grumbling at her. "Spill it, babe" "Where were you?," she asked again, smirking as if she didn't just creep the shit out of me. "With friends," I replied, avoiding her gaze. All she has to do is stare at me and everything will unravel. "And why are you here and not at work? I asked curiously trying to distract her. "Because this is the weekend, and who were the friends?" "The last time I checked we were out together last night" "When did you make new friends? Are you cheating on me? she asked, without giving me a chance to explain myself. "Cheat on you? We would need to be in a relationship for that to happen, and you don't seem like my type if I want to swing that way" I replied, chuckling at her funny questions. That only made her frown deeper before she finally let it go. "I came to tell you that my boss actually needs a personal assistant and you will be perfect for that, and the pay is nice too," she said, stating her reason for being here. "Your boss? I asked eagerly. "Yeah" she replied, nodding. "You will come for the interview on Monday, okay?" she said standing up with no further explanation. I facepalmed as she walked out, it is her nature to leave conversation uncompleted but nevertheless am happy I got a job. I really wish I could open her head to see what is inside because I'm about to die of curiosity. "I promised my Mom that I will go shopping with her, so see you on Monday," she said, closing the door behind her. Well, one problem is out of the list! I took a long bath trying to wash off the remnants of the night off my body, but I can only clean my body and not my memory. I can't forget how intense the night was. Well, it was nice getting laid. I spent the weekend all by myself at home preparing for the interview on Monday, I called Mom also and she keeps nagging me about not coming to see her. I'm truly sorry Mom. Monday came faster than I thought, I woke up early, took a quick shower, and had to take extra care when getting dressed because I need this job. I decide to drive hoping to get there early but still end up getting there ten minutes late. The place is huge, with rows of cars in the parking lot. I hope this man will hire me and I don't fuck the opportunity up, Lisa will be so mad at me if I do so. A receptionist directed me to the first floor and for some reason, she reminded me of Mandy. If eventually I secure this job I might have some problems with her. Their vibes are identical to the thick layers of makeup. Ugh! A deep "come in" sounded from inside after I knocked on the door, gentlyI opened the door. I was informed the boss would be doing the interview himself, since he is the one in need of a personal assistant. Standing by the window looking out to the busy city morning is who I presumed to be the boss. "Good morning sir" I greeted bowing a little bit for some courtesy. After a stretched silence, he turned around and I almost couldn't stop staring at him, which was very inappropriate. The man standing before me was dead gorgeous and it is rare for me to react to a man like this. But strangely he didn't say anything, he just sat down and stared at me with an amused expression and I wondered what was the cause of it. Call me rude but I also sat down without asking. "Why did you leave without saying anything?" he asked suddenly in the same bold voice. Did he realize that it is hard to focus when he sounds like that? I shut off my shameful thoughts as I try to get serious. "I'm sorry but I don't- think I know what you are talking about," I said nervously and clamped my hands together on my laps. Have I met him before? Was I rude to him? He stood up and walked to my back before he whispered against my ear. "Really? You don't remember? He asked, staring deep into my eyes, making me suddenly feel naked. I shifted back, the close proximity makes me feel hot. I can't remember but for some weird reason, his stares feel familiar like I had seen him before but I can't pinpoint where exactly. Okay, now this is crazy. "Let's get down to business," he said suddenly as he returned to his seat. The interview was fine but it was weird with the look we were giving each other especially me. It's just so hard not to think about it though. "You will be working with me in this same office and you will be starting right away, go get my schedule for the rest of the week from the secretary," he said as the interview came to an end. He no longer smiled at me or looked inappropriately, he reverted to his professional attitude which I find weird since he whispered in my ear just a while ago. I got the schedule but I still don't understand how this works because I have not worked as someone's assistant before. I had lied smoothly during the interview which I had no choice but to do. Anything to get hired. "You don't need to do anything, you only need to follow me around and inform me about what I have to do every day," he said silently without raising his head from what he was doing. As if he had heard my thoughts. He doesn't have any work to attend to today so I decided to do what was on my mind. Staring at him without getting caught but that wasn't successful. I suddenly turned my full focus on his every action trying to recall where I saw him. And suddenly like a sudden memory flash, it all came back to me in a rush. I gasped loudly and he raised his head from his computer and stared at me. "Are you alright?” He asked. I ignored his question and ask one of my own. "It was you?" it came out more as a question than a statement. And his lips bent in a smirk, wordlessly confirming my assumption. "I'm quite surprised you recognize my face judging by how drunk you were," he said curiously. "I rarely forget the faces of people that I spent more than an hour with, especially those that got between my legs no matter how drunk I was" I blurted out before I could stop myself and that made him raise an eyebrow in disbelief. Oh no!. "I have a question though, how did I end up going home with you? I asked, because I don't understand how I got to his house. "I think you mistook my car for a cab" he answered as if it was a regular thing. I was suddenly short of words with no idea how to address the whole situation. The only thing I could do now is to remedy this whole madness and try to act as natural as possible. "Thank God it was a good person I went with," I said after some time and he chuckled in response to that. He stood and I followed his every step with my eyes as he walked towards me and bent down to my eye level. "I'm not a good person" he corrected me, his voice seductive and affirmative. He left and closed the door behind him. And I released a breath I had no idea I was holding. This is going to be difficult.Grace's POVGetting married is one of the biggest steps one would take in life irrespective of age.Few years ago I wouldn't have imagined that one of us would be getting married today and it's the craziest of our trio that is doing that.Lisa is a nervous wreck as she prepares for the happiest of her life, she has yelled a couple of times in the last thirty minutes and Steph has been pulling her legs because of jumbled nerves.Lisa definitely won't be the same if we weren't here to attend her wedding but we don't intend to miss it."When are you guys going on your honeymoon?" I asked her while she looked back at her beautiful reflection from the mirror.
Grace's POV I'm quite sure some drivers threw curses at me because of my murderous driving, I just couldn't keep my calm. A couple of days felt like a month, Mr Hyde is back from his trip. He was supposed to be back tomorrow but somehow he is back earlier and for which I am very happy. In no time his house came into and I didn't even bother to park the car properly before rushing into the house. A maid told me he is in his study, and that is quite unusual because he is still working instead of resting. I stopped in front of study and waited a few minutes before knocking, my hand stopped mid air when I heard a familiar voice coming from inside. I'm not supposed to be eavesdropping on the conversation but my curiosity got the best of me. I wasn't hearing clearly and to satisfy my curiosity I put my ear close to the door, still nothing. I ended up resting on the door trying to hear them. Unexpectedly the door opened suddenly and I wished the ground would swallow me whole. "What
Grace's POVSix months later.Things have changed, the season has changed. We are currently at our usual club drinking like we used to, just the three of us but tonight the atmosphere isn't the previous immature and rowdy we always possess. We are all calm and happy."When is he picking you up" Rosie asked Lisa as she checked her phone for the umpteenth time.I wasn't as surprised as Steph when she broke the news of her engagement with Daniel to us a few weeks ago, I'm just concerned about his sa
Grace's POVThe sleeping face belonged to Lisa and I felt guilty for doing that to her, she looked around frantically trying to figure out what went wrong."What is it?" she asked puzzled."Nothing" I replied in a small voice. The floating cloud turned out to be a large bed, I was a little disappointed when I realized the beautiful beach was just a dream."Then why did you scream like there's a snake in the room?" She asked, glaring at me."I was only startled waking up to your sleeping face dumbass" I replied glaring back at her."I have missed you terribly" she said suddenly chuckling at the choice of words.
Grace's POVIt seems like eternity later but we made it to the house in one piece, it looks very different closer with so sign of occupants."It looks abandoned," The smaller girl said, her voice stronger than when we talked in the house."We can't be too sure until we check," the second girl replied. After a few seconds of rapid knocks the door opens to reveal the silhouette of a woman. We have no idea what time it is but it is quite obvious it pass midnight.
Gideon's POVI was so impatient but had to let police do things they are way. After they let out another warning they proceeds to open the door. They were still short of the door when gunshots rang from inside the house , immediately one of the policemen in front of me went down in a soundless heap. Few bullets flew past me and I went down on my stomach with every man still standing, painful grunts beside me drew my attention to see Daniel writhing in pain.Blood was dripping out of his left shoulders."Daniel! Daniel!" I called out but he didn't respond.
