Chapter three

Grace's POV

I woke up with a bad headache, I sat up and look around the strange room.

I don't remember coming here!..

Slowly snippets from the previous night started coming back but the deal is done and I have to get out of here.

I was crazy yesterday thanks to the alcohol running through my veins.

I gather my things up and left without saying anything.

****************

Why is the door opened? I said to myself as I walked into my apartment.

I walked cautiously inside, nothing is out of place.

"where were you last night? Lisa said from the couch scaring the hell out of me.

"Really?!, why didn't you tell me you were here"

"I almost peed my pants scared as fuck when I met my door open" I replied grumbling at her.

"spill it, babe"

"Where were you," she asked again smirking as if she didn't just creep the shit out of me.

"with friends" I replied.

"And why are you here and not at work? I asked curiously trying to distract her.

"Because this is the weekend, and who were the friends?"

"the last time I checked we were out together last night"

"When did you make new friends? Are you cheating on me?

she asked without giving me a chance to explain myself.

"cheat on you?" I asked chuckling at her funny question.

"I came to tell you that my boss actually needs a PA and you will perfect be for that, and the pay is nice too," she said stating her reason for being here.

"Your boss? I asked eagerly.

"Yeah," she replied nodding.

"You will come for the interview on Monday, okay?" she said standing up with no further explanation.

I facepalmed as she walked out, it is her nature to leave conversation uncompleted but nevertheless am happy I got a job.

I really wish I could open her head to see what is inside because I'm about to die of curiosity.

"I promised my Mom to go shopping with her, so see you on Monday," she said closing the door behind her.

Well, one problem is out of the list!

I took a long bath trying to wash off the remnants of the night off my body, but I can only clean my body and not my memory.

I can't forget how intense the night was, it was nice getting laid.

I spent the weekend all by myself at home preparing for the interview on Monday, I called Mom also and she keeps nagging me about not coming to see her.

I'm truly sorry Mom.

Monday came faster than I thought, I woke up early took a quick shower, and had to take extra care when getting dressed because I need this job.

I decide to drive hoping to get there early but still end up there ten minutes late.

The place is huge, with rows of cars in the parking lot.

I hope this man will hire me and I don't fuck the opportunity up, Lisa will be so mad at me if I do so.

~

A receptionist directed me to the first floor and for some reason, she reminds me of Mandy.

If eventually I secure this job I might have some problems with her. Their vibes are identical to the thick layers of makeup.

Ugghh!

A deep "come in" sounded from inside after I knocked on the door, gingerly I opened the door.

Standing at the window looking out to the busy city morning is who I presumed to be the boss.

"Good morning sir" I greeted bowing a little bit for some courtesy. After a few moments he turned around and I almost couldn't stop staring at him which was very inappropriate.

The man standing before me is dead gorgeous and it is rare for me to react to a man like this.

But strangely he didn't say anything, he just sit down and stare at me with an amused expression and I wonder the cause of it.

Call me rude but I sit down without asking.

"Why did you leave without saying anything?" he asked suddenly in the same bold voice.

Did he realize that it is hard to focus when he sounds like that?

I shut off my shameful thought as I try to get serious.

"I'm sorry but I don't.. think I know what you are talking about," I asked nervously.

He stands up and walk to my back before he whispered against my ear.

"Really? You don't remember? He asked staring deep into my eyes making me suddenly feel naked.

I can't remember but for some weird reason, his stares feel familiar like I had seen him before but I can't pinpoint where exactly.

Okay, now this is crazy.

"Let's get down to business," he said suddenly as he returned to his seat. The interview was fine but it was weird with the look we were giving each other especially me.

It's just so hard not to think about it though.

"You will be working with me in this same office and you will be starting right away, go get my schedule for the rest of the week from the secretary," he said as the interview comes to an end.

I got the schedule but I still don't understand how this works because I have not worked as someone's assistant before.

"You don't need to do anything, you only need to follow me around and inform me about what I have to do every day," he said silently without raising his head from what he was doing as if reading my mind.

He doesn't have any work to attend to today so I decided to do what was on my mind.

Staring at him without getting caught but that wasn't successful... I suddenly turned my full focus on his every action trying to recall where I saw him. And suddenly like a sudden memory flash, it all came back to me in a rush. I gasps loudly and he and he raised his head from his iPad and stares at me.

"You like what you see? He asked.

I ignored his question and ask one of my own.

"It was you?" it came out more as a question than a statement.

And he smiled in return confirming my assumption.

"I'm quite surprised you recognize my face despite how drunk you were," he said curiously.

"I rarely forget the faces of people that I spent more than an hour with especially those that got between my legs no matter how drunk I was" I replied.

"I have a question though, how did I end up going home with you? I asked because I don't understand how I reach his house.

"I think you mistook my car for a cab" he answered as if it was a regular thing.

I was suddenly short of words with no idea how to address the whole situation.

"Thank God it was a good person I went with," I said after sometimes and he chuckled in reply to that. He stood and I followed his every step as he walks to towards me and bent down to my ear.

"I'm not a good person" he whispered to my ear his voice seductive and affirmative. He leaves and closed the door behind him. And I released a breathe I have no idea I was holding.
