A LOST CAUSE

Ava hugged Ace tightly as she slept. He found her recent actions really sweet and wondered if she had finally accepted this as her life.

Later in the night, when Ace began to snore, Ava freed her body from his hold and got up from the bed. She had not been able to get any sleep due to how afraid she was. She had to pretend because she did not want Ace to be suspicious.

She carefully opened the cupboard and began to check for Ace's coke, while looking over her shoulders every few seconds to ensure that Ace wasn't awake.

She spent the next thirty minutes searching for the coke in vain. When she could not find it, she sat on the ground and began to cry. All her hopes had been dashed into pieces. She had thought that she would be reunited with Damon in no time, but now she knew that it was never going to happen.
