Hearing his name for the first time

I was jolted awake by the loud sound of my alarm clock on the writing table.

I covered my face with the pillow at the foot of my bed and closed my eyes again.

I heard someone knocking on my door! I let out a scream of annoyance. I stood up with my eyes still closed and opened the door.

"Don't you have class, Zhanea? You're already late," Ate greeted me.

She was already dressed in her uniform. I thought she was about to leave. But she decided to knock on my door.

"I'm on leave, Ate," I said while yawning.
