The Next morning.

“What are we doing here? Isn't this your father's house?” Luke asked immediately the car stopped at Sarah's family house. Sarah held a very beautiful and hopeful smile.

“Yes.” She answered.

“So…he’s our solution? The one you mentioned?” Luke asked, dragging his last words. Sarah's family are wealthy truly but they are just a doorbell compared to Imani Shawn’s.

“Trust me Luke. Father loves me and he's ready to do anything to save you,” Sarah said giving Luke a bit of hope.

Luke decided to trust her just like she had said, he got out of the car and buttoned up his shirt, his head up high and motivated to see his father-in-law.

Sarah interlocked her hands into his arms and they both walked in.

“Father!” Sarah squirled immediately they got inside, she ran into his arms, the embrace lasted for few seconds and they pull away.

“Good morning, Mr Velt.” Luke greeted while Sarah's father just gave him a nod.

Mr velt swiftly turned to Sarah and said. “Sarah, we need to talk,”

“Okay father,” She hurried behind him and Luke wanted to follow but Mr Velt halted and told him coldly, “I said I need to speak to me daughter. Only her,” He pointed out.

“But…” Sarah wanted to say something but a glare from her father shut her up.

Luke stayed behind while Sarah followed her father into his study room.

They got into the study room and Sarah was quick to mutter, “Why did you act like that to him? Luke will be my husband in few months..”

Her father scoffed, “Husband? Scrap that. He's not your husband,”

Sarah folded her fist, “Father-”

Mr Velt cut her off by mentioning, “You should not deal with Luke for any reason. It will only ruin the image I've been building for years.”

Sarah was startled by her dad’s words. “Father!” she grumbled obviously stunned by her father's outrageous words.

It's not a new thing that her father doesn't approve of her relationship with Luke …most especially now when he's facing a lot.

“Do you know who Imani Shawn is? Did you know her connections? In a snap of a finger, she could turn our lives into a living hell!” Mr Velt retorted.

Sarah rolled her eyes, “Imani again? Don't tell me you're scared of her? You can't be—?”

Mr Velt sat on his chair, fiddling with his mustache, “Don’t play with fire, dear. Imani's net worth can feed us and 4th generation to come,” He insisted.

One could see the irritated look on Sarah, any better word than being agitated is what she's feeling at the moment, “Fine. I will look for help elsewhere,” With that she left her father's study but met Luke at the door.

With the look on his face, he has listened to what her father had said, “Luke—It’s not what you think…i..” Sarah wanted to defend her father but Luke rolled his eyes and sauntered back to the car.

Sarah hurried behind him, she got into the car. Luke took a deep breathe before turning to her, “You know your father doesn't like me. Why did you bring me here? To disgrace me..?” Luke muttered.

“Listen to me Luke, I will get help…i will do whatever to help you,” Sarah insisted, her hand rubbing Luke's hand.

Luke shifted his hand away from her, “The only one to help me now is the one behind my predicament, Imani Shawn not you.”

-SHAWN's MANSION-

The window was half opened making the sun reflect directly on Imani's face. She squinted her eyes opened… she was in her room. Her yawn came on shortly and she sat upright from the bed with her eyes landing on alarm. “11am?!”

She jumped out of the bed “what the hell was I still doing in bed till now- Holy crap! What the fuvk!! ” She screamed out and froze after seeing a the figure beside her bed, sleeping peacefully.

She looked closely…her eyes almost pop out and was totally dumbfounded by the sight… “Killan?!” she called trying to confirm if she wasn't day-dreaming.

Killan rambled from where he slept upon hearing his name, his eyes peeled opened as well and it landed on Imani scary and scattered hair.

“Ahh!” He jumped away where he laid down but then, in two seconds, like he got a hold of himself, he composed and added with an awkward smile.

“Why are you in here? I left you at the dinner party, didn't I?” Imani asked and Killan stared at her speechless.

“You..you dragged me down here. You insisted I must stay,” Killan retorted and Imani was stunned.

“I…i..? I did??” Imani asked, not in her wildest dream! Did she really drag him down into her room?

“Wait…did you not remember what you did last night?” Killan asked and Imani swallowed the lump in her throat, shocking her head.

“Did we..!” She suddenly gasped, looking under her duvet to check if her clothes were still intact and indeed, it was still intact.

“Oh please…did you take me for that type of guy? I can’t take advantage of a drunk lady,” Killan assured.

“Tell me what I did then, Did..did I do anything stupid?” Imani asked but Killan shrugs his shoulders.

“You did nothing…just that you forced me to spend the night here,” He mentioned and Imani closed her eyes in shame, bitting her lips.

Gosh, she’s such a bad drinker.

Killan chuckles, he was enjoying this side of Imani. He cleared his throat and said, “Don’t sulk…I will take my leave now before Jaden sees me…he can’t find us in an awkward like this—”

He hasn’t finished his words when the door slide opens… lo and behold, Jaden walked in. “Daddy?” Was the first word he called.

What a scenery!

If only the floor would open up and swallow Imani right now.
