Agatha Candice

Prang!

“How many times have I told you that I don't like sweets in the morning?!”

The floor that was originally clean, is now a mess with broken plates and glasses that have just been thrown by Elena.

“But last night—”

Elena grabbed Agatha's hair, then brought her face closer. “I don't like sweets in the morning. Can't you hear?!”

Elena let go of Agatha's hair roughly, causing her to fall to the floor.

“S-sorry, I'll prepare another breakfast menu for you.” Agatha got up, then bowed her head, and hurriedly left Elena's room.

Agatha took a deep breath. Last night, Elena asked her for biscuits and a glass of milk for breakfast this morning. But now, she rejected it and said didn't want sweets for her breakfast.

“Hah … it's okay Agatha, it's okay.” Agatha tried to calm herself and not get emotional.

Agatha Candice, better known as Agatha, was an omega werewolf from Moon Stone Pack, working as a slave in Raymond's house, an alpha and Elena's father. She has a pretty face that was quite similar to Elena that made her a target of bullying by that girl.

“Agatha! Where’s my food?!” Elena shouted from her room.

“Ah … wait!”

Immediately, Agatha prepared a toast with avocado and a sunny-side up egg along with the orange juice she had just made. With quickened steps, Agatha carried the breakfast menu she had prepared straight to Elena's room.

“Here’s your breakfast.” Agatha put the tray on the nightstand and hurried to clean up the broken glasses and plates that were still scattered on the floor of Elena's room.

“What the heck?! Why did you give me orange juice?!”

Elena threw the glass of orange juice back onto the floor, until it shattered and managed to hit agatha who was underneath it.

“Ssh ….” Agatha hissed with pain from the wounds on her hands and feet.

“Are you dumb?! Why are you giving me orange juice when I'm allergic to this fruit? Are you going to kill me?!” Elena looked very angry as she stared intently at Agatha.

“S-sorry, I didn't mean to. I don't know if you have an allergy to oranges. I'll make another. What do you want to drink?”

“No need! Better quickly clean up everything and get out of my room!”

Agatha nodded slowly, then hurried to clean up the broken plates and glasses. After that, she left Elena's room.

Agatha never knew what foods and drinks Elena disliked and avoided. This was the first time Agatha prepared breakfast for Raymond Asher's family. All this time, it was her mother who was in charge of preparing the food, who was now lying sick in her room.

Initially, her mother still wanted to work despite her illness. However, because Agatha didn't want her mother's illness to get worse, she took the initiative to replace her mother's duties for the day as a maid.

The broken plates and glasses she brought with her went straight into the trash can in the kitchen. Afterward, she swept the floor, mopped it, and then took the trash outside.

“Agatha, why hasn't my room been cleaned yet? What time is it already?!”

Florencia Asher, the luna, walked towards the yard with her hands on her waist. Then she looked at her watch, which was almost ten in the morning.

“I apologize, Mrs. Asher. I was busy preparing breakfast for Elena and had just finished sweeping and mopping the floor. I will clean your room now.”

Florencia gave Agatha a sharp look. “If I know it's going to be like this, it's better for your mom to just keep working today. All the work gets delayed and doesn't run on time!”

“No, Mrs. Asher. Just let my mother rest for the day. Please, forgive my negligence. I will try to work faster.” Agatha bowed her head as she linked her fingers together in front of her.

Florencia Asher sighed heavily, then walked away without saying anything. Meanwhile, Agatha quickly went back into the house and rushed to clean and tidy Florencia's room.

Ten hours later.

Agatha had just finished her chores for the day and was preparing to return to the most dilapidated cabin, where she and her mother lived.

Since her father passed away, Agatha and her mother's lives have been miserable. Both have to work harder every day to make ends meet. It was not uncommon for them to continue working even when they were not feeling well.

“Mom, I'm home.” Agatha opened the door and approached her mother in the bedroom.

“Hey pretty, how was your day? Was it too hard for you?”

Calista, a middle-aged woman who had been lying down, began to get up and lean her body against the wall.

“Everything's good, Mom. Don't worry.” Agatha lied with a smile.

In fact, she had quite a hard time doing all the chores alone, with Elena always bothering her.

Of course, Calista did not fully believe Agatha's words. She examined Agatha's body from head to toe, and found plasters on Agatha's fingers and toes.

“What is this?! What happened to you?” Calista looked very worried while holding Agatha’s fingers.

Quickly, Agatha pulled her fingers from her mother's hand, then turned to clasp Calista’s hand. “I’m okay, Mom. I was only scratched by a piece of glass when I washed the dishes.”

“Are you sure? Does it hurt?”

Agatha shook her head, then smiled, trying to calm her mother down.

“Okay, be careful next time. Promise?”

“Promise.” Agatha linked her little finger to her mother's.

“Anyway, I feel better already. So tomorrow you don't have to do mom's work anymore, okay?”

Agatha was silent for a moment, then noticed every corner of her mother's face.

“Agatha, my pretty baby. I'm not lying.”

Realizing that her daughter was hesitant, Calista immediately cupped both of Agatha's cheeks and reassured the girl that she really did feel better than before.

“I can't believe it.” Agatha placed her hand on her mother's forehead, intending to check her temperature.

“See? I'm totally fine. Don't worry honey.”

Agatha lowered her hand again, then sighed. “Okay, but promise me. Don't work too hard. If you need help, just tell me, ya?”

The nod Agatha got in response.

“Have you eaten, Mom?”

Again, Calista nodded her head as the answer. “Go take a shower, then eat.”

“Will do.”

Agatha left for the bathroom. But suddenly her steps stopped as she remembered something.

“Aish! I forgot to take out the trash from today's dinner.”

Agatha then canceled her intention to take a bath, and walked outside through the room that was intentionally not closed.

“Agatha! Where do you want to go?!” Calista asked with a little shout from inside the room.

“Mr. Raymond's house. I forgot to take out the trash, Mom. I'll be back soon.”

Without waiting for an answer from her mother, Agatha immediately stepped into Raymond's house which was located very close to where she lived.

“WHAT?!” Just then, Elena's voice came from inside her room as Agatha passed by.

Since Agatha was a little curious about what Elena and her mother were talking about, she decided to listen to their conversation from behind Elena's bedroom door.

“Yes, the alpha of the Blood Moon Pack will come to our house in a few days to attend the annual ball of the northwest packs,” Florencia explained.

“Ah I can't wait to meet him!” Elena sounds very excited about the alpha's arrival.

“The alpha of the Blood Moon Pack?” Agatha muttered while staring blankly at the floor.

Then, there was the sound of footsteps that seemed to be walking from inside. Agatha decided to leave immediately and walked to the kitchen.

“Agatha?”

Hearing her name being called, Agatha immediately turned her head while lifting the garbage bag she was about to pick up.

“Why are you still here?! Didn't you go home already?”

“I forgot to take out this trash, Elena. So I came back here again.”

“Well, you look the same as that garbage bag haha.”

There was no reply from Agatha. It seemed like she was used to being insulted like this by Elena. The girl just nodded, then walked away from Elena who was still laughing at her.

“Ah … wait!”

Elena walked over to Agatha who had just stopped her steps.

“For the next two weeks, you should wear a mask every time you work and go out. Ah wait, I think you must wear a mask in the pack!”

Agatha looked confused, then tilted her head. “Why so sudden?”

“Don't ask too many questions and just do what I said!”

Afterward, Elena walked away from Agatha who still looked confused and stayed where she was.

“Hm … what is the reason?” Agatha muttered.

However, Agatha was just a slave in Raymond's family. Whether she wanted to or not, she still has to obey the orders of Raymond and his family members, including Elena.

The next day.

“Why did you wear a mask, honey? Are you not feeling well?” Calista asked as she placed her hand on Agatha's forehead.

Agatha smiled, then lowered her mother's hand from her forehead. “No, I'm okay, Mom. Elena told me last night that I have to wear a mask for the next two weeks.”

“Why? Is it just you? Or should Mom also use a mask?”

“Uhm … maybe it's just me. Ah … we're already late, shall we go now?”

Agatha got a nod in response. Then she and her mother walked into Raymond's house and started doing their respective tasks.

“Oh good! You're really wearing a mask today haha. Now, go clean up my room!” Elena patted Agatha on the shoulder, then walked to the backyard.

The smile of the girl with a tiny nose and long blonde hair then brightened up. She was satisfied that now, no one could match her beauty in the Moon Stone Pack.
