Chapter thirty-two

Ann's POV

I sat by the edge of the bed lost in thoughts in a trail of thoughts of what was coming next.

Logan was folding our clothes carefully, placing them in the open suitcase on the bed. I could see determination painted upon his features.

"Logan," I called and he turned at me with his ever-beautiful smile. "What if the elders pose a threat to you?" He paused and turned his full attention to me before walking over to me.

He knelt before me and took my trembling hands in his. "Ann, listen to me," Logan said, his voice soft yet resolute. "I won't let anyone threaten me or come between us. We are strong together." He squeezed my trembling hands, sending a sense of possibility and comfort inside me.

I slowly lifted my eyes and looked at him. His eyes were full of comfort and unwavering determination with a small smile tugged at the corner of his lips. "I just...I don't want anything to happen to you because of me. If it comes to that, I can leave. It's not an issue."
