"Let's end all this." I closed my eyes not knowing why my heart pained as I uttered those words.

My eyes were closed and I could feel the chills of the utter silence that reigned in the kitchen.

The only audible thing was the fast racing of my heart as I anticipated his response. I pressed my fingers nervously, not ready for whatever response he wanted to give me.

Finally, after a few moments, I heard him sigh then a sound of forks being placed back on the plate followed. I felt his hand take my hands that were now resting on the table and I could only jolt at the body contact.

"Look at me, Ann." This time he spoke softly, not like his usual commanding self.

I slowly opened my eyes and when our eyes met, chills ran down my nerves that I couldn't keep eye contact no matter how much I urged myself to.

"I told you to look at me." He repeated softly. I quietly met his gaze again, biting on my lip as I thought about him looking at his mate.

"Tell me what's wrong." He asked patiently, cares
