A mother's love

Olivia stared at the glass of water in her hands deep in thought, she was in Henry and Ivy's house where she had been staying ever since she found out that she could be pregnant.

It wasn't confirmed yet, though she had used a pregnancy test kit she got from the pharmacy store. She had promised herself not to make any rash decision until it had been confirmed by the doctor.

It still felt like a dream, almost three weeks ago she had gotten her leave from work for some alone time. And at the end of the day, not only did she not have any alone time, there was also the possibilty of her carrying a baby in her tummy.

"Good morning Olivia" She heard Ivy's voice from the kitchen doorway and she looked up from staring at the glass of water in her hands.

Ivy's eyes were squinted slightly with her lips curled into a cheerful smile. Ivy was a 5'3" lady, beautiful blond hair, and always with a shy smile. They had connected immediately Henry introduced them. Olivia loved her modesty and the way she was so smitten by him. It was cute to watch her friend be reasonable around someone for a change.

"Good morning Ivy" Olivia flashed her a sad smile, even Ivy's cheerfulness couldn't lift her spirit that morning.

It was a sad day for her. A day she would finally decide if she was going to keep the baby or not. She didn't think she had it in her to kill a growing child. But a werewolf baby? It was going to be a hard decision to make.

"I was told you were going to the hospital today for your test results. Well….i don't know what you want to hear, but good luck" Ivy cheered as she proceeded to the refrigerator placed right in front of where she sat at the counter.

"Good luck? I don't think she needs that when a test kit has confirmed it" Henry's voice boomed in the room. Unprepared for his mockery that morning, she groaned in despair.

"Henry, please not this morning" she pleaded with him. Her ears were literally begging to stop hearing his taunt in her head. He was so unsalvageable, not relenting in reminding her how stupid she was to have sex without protection.

Olivia watched him hug his wife from behind, as Ivy turned to him to drop feathery kisses on his lips which of course, he deepened. Their moan and groan filled the room making her feel totally out of place.

She felt a pang in her heart at the sight, was she jealous of her friend right now? Or was she being nostalgic of what she threw away.

She shook her head vigorously to shake the disturbing thought away, she wasn't going to think about his lying ass again that day, she really needed to get a grip of herself. He was her past and he was going to remain there.

Without their knowledge, she sneaked away from the kitchen to get changed. It was time to face her fears and make a big decision.

Liam was woken up by the continuous ringing of his phone. He wondered who would call him so early in the morning.

Groggy and tired, he groaned aloud, stretching his hands to his bedside table to pick it up. Without looking at the caller id, he answered the call and placed it on his ear while still half asleep.

"Hello" he grunted

"Liam? Is that you?" The sound of Kelvin, his Beta's voice, boomed in his ear, urgency underlying his tone.

Alarmed at his seriousness, he sat up on his bed, sleep whipping straight off.

"Who else would answer my phone. What's going on?" He asked in curiosity.

"It's your mother. She had an attack this morning before being rushed to the hospital" he heard his response over the phone.

His heart sank to his stomach as fear washed over him at the news, almost drowning him. His mother had an attack again, it was becoming too frequent.

Naturally, wolves had quick healing abilities and tend to live for much longer compared to humans. But his mother's sickness had persisted for far too long. At first, it wasn't taken seriously because they were all expecting her to heal herself as it is common among wolves.

But after few times of no healing, she had been rushed to the hospital for diagnosis and placed under drug usage and intensive monitoring. No one knew the cause of her illness yet, now he didn't even care anymore. He just wanted her to be well.

Scared out of his mind, he rushed into his adjoined restroom to get ready. He couldn't lose his mother, he loved her too much.

"Why did the family doctor not come over to the pack house?" He continued interrogating his second in command.

"It happened so fast. We just couldn't wait" kelvin explained.

"How come I'm just hearing this now? We literally live in the same house" That was the most shocking part of the whole thing, that someone didn't even deem it fit to call him until she was taken to the hospital.

"Sorry Alpha" his Beta let out a heavy breath, his fatigue sounding through the phone. Liam couldn't be mad at him, he ended the call and started getting ready.

Within minutes he was done freshening up and on his way to the hospital. He drove at maximum speed, passing the speed limit. Adrenaline cursed through his veins, and images of growing up with his loving mother flickered in his head.

They were a family of five, his father, mother and two other siblings. One sister, and one brother. He grew up with love of course, and his father had retired early from his job as Alpha due to his mother's sickness.

He stopped his car at the hospital, scrambling in through the door without paying attention to anyone else. Being popular wasn't a flex at that point, because he would surely have at least one person who recognized him anywhere he went.

He didn't care though, he never did. He had learnt to live with it, and enjoy the privileges that came with being popular. He got to the lobby and he sighted his Beta afar-off. He stirred immediately in that direction.

"Kelvin" he called out to him as kelvin turned to face him.

"Where's she?" He questioned impatiently.

"Come with me" Kelvin replied and began to walk. Liam followed closely behind, the attention he was getting from people on his way was sickening. He really should have appeared using a disguise, he wouldn't want the media to feed on any news about his mother.

Kelvin stopped at a door and Liam looked up, he had been so focused on his thoughts that he didn't realize they had gotten to their destination.

His eyes landed on a familiar bluish-green eyes waiting at the door, the last person he would ever expect to be in his mother's ward. What was she doing there?
