Standing up from the bed I walk towards the cotton and pat them open, the bright sunlight shun into my room giving it the lively look

I smile, finally, my dream is coming through. I've waited for this moment for a long time, the day I'm finally going to get married to the love of my life

I've been in a relationship with John for five years, we have been through a lot together, and the lord has finally answered our prayers, we will be getting married tomorrow, at the altar, we will become one and nothing can separate us ever again not even the world

I smile as I look around my small room apartment, I'm surely going to miss this place but I can't wait to be in the arms of John taking my wedding vows and stay in his house forever

I stayed in the orphanage all my life, I was told I was an orphan and only orphans stayed and lived in the orphanage but when I turned sixteen, I suddenly wanted to experience life apart from the life in the orphanage

Days and years passed and I watched other kids getting adopted but nobody or should I say sister Benedicta refuse giving me up for adoption, 

At some point I couldn't take it anymore, I needed my freedom, I needed to see what outside the world looks like, I needed to experience life outside the orphanage and not just seat around 

One night I sneaked out of the orphanage and that was the night I met John, my boyfriend, he took me in and introduce me to a waitress job, months later I was able to save up a good amount of money and get my own apartment and here I am today, about to get married to my dream man

If there's one thing I know which always makes me worried, is the fact that John's family never liked me, maybe because I'm an orphan but John assures me that after our wedding they would come to like me and I can't wait for that to happen

"Damn!.." I curse as my eyes met the time its close to nine already and John promise to take me to the mall today to get flowers for our wedding tomorrow

I need to get ready, I don't want John to meet me still roaming around the house. He's been getting upset lately and seriously I don't want to be the reason for his anger this morning

''Grrrrrr……h" The blaring sound of my phone caught me off guard, I picked it up from my bedside table and look to see it's Chloe my best friend, I met her when I started my waitress job

"Hi, sweetie.."

"Hold it young lady don't tell me you're still pushing forward with the wedding tomorrow"

"Chloe, how can you be asking me this, you should be happy for me "

"I can only be happy if you're getting married to a desired and worthy man, look Rose that John of a guy is simply not who you think he is"

"Chloe this same guy you're talking about was the one that stood by me in my darkest time"

"Well remind me how he uses that against you every passing second"

"Chloe….."

"A true boyfriend, shouldn't molest his girlfriend, "

"Well that's because I make him angry sometimes"

"Is that a reason for him to always turn you to his punching bag"

"Chloe listen John is the only one I have in this and I love him so much"

"Roseline don't tell me this is the type of life you want for yourself, what if you get married to John and he turns you into his slave, he beats you now, imagine when the two of you become husband and wife, he's going to kill you for sure…..''

"No Chloe, I know John and besides he promises to change, and trust me he's working on it"

"I just hope you don't regret this decision of your Rose, you're too young for this"

"Don't worry Chloe, I'm twenty-one already, I'm an adult''

"Alright bye"

"See you" I ended the call, 

I sighed, Chloe my best friend never liked John, she always says that John is not whom I think he is and whenever I ask her why she just says I shouldn't mind

I really love John and would like our relationship to go deeper, I know John might be toxic, but then I believe he's going to change and that's just a matter of time

I rushed into the bathroom when I remember my appointment with John, I didn't take in the bathroom, I came out and hurriedly put my clothes on, 

Since I am not the makeup type of person, I didn't bother applying any makeup, I settled for a white short gown, and black heels, with my black handbag, I was feeling satisfied with myself, I made to start leaving when suddenly my stomach growl, remembering me I haven't had anything

"Not now…." I groan and dropped my bag on the living room couch as I dragged my feet to the kitchen

Since I was running late I divided to make something snappy, I made scrambled egg and chunk it down with some juice

I was washing the dishes when I heard the beeping sound of John's car, 

"Fuck I'm done with" I panicked and hastened up with the plate after which I cleaned my hands with a dry towel before walking out of my apartment with my black fancy bag

"Good morning" I greeted John who has a frown on his face

"Seriously Roseline when will you stop this your lazy and foolish attitude"

"I'm sorry…" I muttered with my gaze focused on the ground

"Maybe you don't want this wedding after all" He muttered turning to go back to his car

I rush towards him and hug him from the back, holding him so tight with my head laid on his back

"John please don't do this to me, I love you so much and you're the only one I have left please don't leave me" I pleaded with tears in my eyes

He pulled away from me and said

"Look Roseline I'm getting tired of your carelessness"

"Where are you going?" I asked as he hop into his car

"Tomorrow is our wedding pray I don't change my mind" 

''John……" I screamed but he ignored me and drove off
