[CHAPTER 5] LUHENSTEIN

Harris' Pov

The next day I woke up due to the noise outside my cabin , I saw the other squires and mages having a stampede going to the south wing of the academy. I immediately took a bath and put on my usual clothes, my leathered vest and boots. I looked myself in the body size mirror beside Luther's bed. I just realized that the clothes I had seems to be smaller than usual. How time passed by that my body changes into this muscular kind because of the training here. I opened the door to go out and saw Cyvian about to enter.

"Where you've been?" I asked him.

"I went to the cafeteria for breakfast, I was waiting for you" He answered.

"What's with the ruckus this morning, it was so noisy!" I irritatingly said.

"Oh maybe the results are out" His answer was blunt, like he is not interested.

"Results for what?" I continued to interrogate.

"For the people who can participate in the Fiach Season"

We reached the South wing of the academy and there was a huge rectangular glowing glass enough for everyone could see the names written in gold. I didn't expect for my name but I was hoping, so I scanned through the glass. There it is, my name!

This time I will definitely make sure to bring my father's favor back.

My name is placed in the bottom of the glowing board and beside it is a triangle symbol.

"Hey Cyrvian what does this mean--?" I asked Cyrvian who I was expecting beside me but I saw him completely shocked to what he saw, and this also made my reaction worse than him. His name is on the top, written in way darker gold. Beside it is a star.

"You got it to the top!"I cheerfully told him.

"Harris! I don't know what to do? Your father will cut my throat if I get myself distracted to other things---" He nervously said. This Royal knight is becoming hysterical once more.

"Don't be hysterical Cyrvian, I also passed!" I said in a proud tone.

"But your highness, after seeing your name here is just the first step. I don't want to underestimate you but the second step is where you have to take a hold of the Luhenstein". He whispered.

"Luhenstein? is that the legendary magical sword that could sense if you have a mana like mages or your just an ordinary knight?" I replied.

"Indeed, I tried that once in the palace as you know I am trained in the palace as a knight and not in this academy. They brought that sword and that's the time I discovered I'm just an ordinary knight" He continued but I can sense a little bit of sadness in his tone.

"Your not ordinary Cyrvian, you're the best knight" I stated and he gave me a gleaming smile.

We are now in the field near the forest and it's getting darker already. I saw them carrying a huge crystalized box looking like an aquarium but way more in style.

"Everybody, please form a circle"Gillione ordered.

We're now forming a circle, Cyrvian is beside me chilling.

"The top 5 students that are names written in darker shade of gold in the Shwarzes. You will lead your chosen team after you pick up the Luhenstein". Gillione instructed.

Cyrvian went first and held the sword. Just like before as he said, the sword glowed. The glowing is very radiant in blue that it hurts my eyes.

"True potential! Your up next Theodore." Gillione proudly said whilst clapping.

Almost everyone took their turns and its my turn right now. I stepped forward to the grasses in the field. The wind blew that creates chills in my spines. This is it.

I took the sword from the box and raised my arm.

Nothing happened. They are all eyes on me right now. This is a big disappointment. A big shame for a Royal Prince. If ever father or anyone here aside from Cyrvian knew, I would be a laughingstock. I was about to put back the Luhenstein when I felt a small electrifying feeling from my palms. The sword glowed, but not too radiant.

"Not bad Squire Esqroic". Gillione shrugged but still smiling.

Does this mean I passed?

"Congratulations Your Highness!" Cyrvian whispered in a jolly tone. I can feel that he's excited.

After me was a familiar person, it's Luther. He doubtly stared at the sword. A minute later he decided to grab it. The blade of the sword glowed a bit radiant, more radiant than mine but there's something noticeable at the edge handle of the sword. Its like how the mages held the sword a while ago. The gem from the handle of the sword glowed a little, just like a spark.

"magnificent! You have the possibility to be a mage, moreover a Knight Master!" Gillione was so excited at the moment.

We just stared at Luther, others with jealousy. I am very curious about him. For what I've remembered, only people from the royal family could either be a mage or a swordsman. The best is they could obtain both skills. That's why it is an exception for the royal family to hold the Luhenstein for they have overflowing mana if skills developed. This will cause the Luhenstein to destroy itself.

However I'm an exception, for I am the lazy prince who'd been disowned by his own father.

King Rupert's Pov

"Your Majesty! The diamond barrier protecting his highness's body, There was a damage!" The mage that was protecting my son's body came to me panicking.

It's been years since he ever made that decision. I walked to his chamber and hazily saw my son's half naked body in the mist of the diamond barrier.

"Milios...My son Milios come back" I whispered to myself.

If not for that necromancer, my son Aimilios the crown prince will not be in this state! That necromancer putted a curse on me. My mana was reversed! everytime I will use magic it affects my body. With this tragedy my children had sacrificed so much. That's why I had to disown that clown and send that skillful knight with him to find the necromancer. I know the necromancer is just near that academy. Maybe it's time to remind Cyrvian about the real mission to accomplish in that school.
